As a physician, I wanted someone who focused only on laser corrective procedures and I had a few friends who had work with Dr. Hyver before with positive outcomes. I had my initial consultation and was happy with the process. Staff is friendly and the San Ramon office is convenient. We discussed an issue that may affect the outcome for my case, and I appreciated Dr. Hyver's conservative approach. And one point, he even took the time to call and have one more discussion before proceeding. I elected for PRK to reduce the risk of dry eye and it has worked extraordinarily well. Hi, my name is Priya and I'm a little over 1 month post-op after having LASIK eye surgery on 6/28/2021 at Dr. Hyver's medical office in San Ramon, CA. I have lived with astigmatism nearly my entire life, and I can't even begin to describe the experience I had. This has literally been life-changing for me, and I honestly wake up every morning in disbelief at how clear and sharp my vision is. I wanted LASIK done YEARS ago; however, I was not a candidate at that time because my vision was still changing. I was advised by my optometrist to wait at least 2 years with my vision at somewhat of a plateau, and then get a lasik consult. My vision had been pretty stable for the last 2-3 years, so I contacted Dr. Hyver's office and went in for a comprehensive evaluation on 5/10/21. If you are a candidtate, Dr Hyver will meet with you via a zoom call. Dr. Hyver was very polite and professional and answered all of my questions. I scheduled my surgery more than a month after my consult because I was quite nervous and needed time to mentally prepare myself. I have never had anything surgical done other than having my wisdom teeth pulled. So needless to say, I was very nervous! I stopped wearing my toric lenses (for astigmatism) a month before my surgery. I started putting in the antibiotic eye drops 24 hours before surgery as prescribed, and then started the corticosteroid drops to prevent inflammation and the Refresh PF lubricating drops to prevent and help with any eye dryness or irritation. I was offered an anti-anxiety medication an hour before the procedure. I was called into the back for my procedure and my eyes were cleaned and prepped in a separate patient room that was directly next to the procedure room. I could hear Dr. Hyver working on another patient and providing reassurance. I could also hear the sound of the laser zapping away. I heard the patient being helped out of the room and I was called in a few minutes later. Dr. Hyver kindly greeted me and asked me if I had any questions. I was then helped to lay down on the operating table, directly under the laser device. Numbing drops were put into my right eye, and my left eye was covered. My top and bottom eyelids were taped open, then a plastic clamp was used to further open my eyelids to prevent blinking. A suction device was used to immobilize my eyeball and hold it in place. I'm telling you, you won't be able to move or blink your eyes at all! The suction uncomfortable; it was just a lot of pressure but I would not call it painful by any means. The laser then made the eye flap which was then lifted away and my vision was corrected with the laser. Completely painless. The entire procedure itself lasted about 5-7 mins total for both eyes. I left the procedure room seeing very hazy; it almost felt like I still had my astigmatic vision. I was given sunglasses to wear right after, and provided with a post-op kit which contained general instructions, answers to frequently asked questions, and clear eye shields to wear at night to prevent bumping or rubbing your eyes during sleep. My vision remained very hazy for about 2-3 hours after the procedure, but I could immediately see the improvement and clarity in vision as each hour passed. When the numbing drops wore off, my eyes felt very stingy and irritated. I put in my lubricating drops (keep all your drops including prescription drops in the fridge, you'll thank me later) and it helped soothe the discomfort. I went in for my post-op check-up the following day and had 20/20 vision. I had my 1 mo follow-up yesterdy 8/3/21 and I'm seeing 20/15 in both eyes! It's absolutely unbelievable! I do have sensitivity to bright lights including sunlight and car headlights at night. I don't have any issues with eye dryness, although it is very common following laser vision correction and can last for several week to months. I am a Registered Nurse and sometimes prolonged computer use during patient documentation and charting causes my eyes to feel a bit strained. This is normal as your eyes are still adjusting to the corrected vision and change in corneal curvature. I love that I can now read the teeny tiny print on mediation vials, all the signs on the freeway, including license plates on cars! Getting LASIK was the best decision and investment I have ever made in my life. I am so thankful for having a successful procedure with beyond amazing results. I was rejected by another office without any detailed information to which particular surgery (SMILE, LASIK or PRK) I was not qualified to do and why. The whole experience was amazing, straight forward and fast. Scott Hyver and his staff were professional and informative. Dre helped me with most of my appointments and was friendly and made everything feel at ease. He walked me through what to expect from the surgery, and everything he said was what the doctor did operation day. Thank you Dre! The actual surgery took about 15minutes, it took longer to drive to the office than the actual appointment. Going into the office was a breeze, checked in and waited less than 5 minutes to be called in, definitely not like other doctor offices. I am officially 4 weeks post op from my PRK procedure so I thought I should write my review now! First off, I want to say I'm extremely happy I chose Dr. Scott Hyver! I went in for a consultation in July, and ended up making my appointment that day because I knew they were the right fit for me. After numerous tests, they explained I didn't qualify for Lasik, but I was a candidate for PRK. Never heard of PRK so I was extremely nervous, and Google didn't help my nerves, but now at 4 weeks post op, I can confidently say it's the best thing I ever did for myself. Best thing I've ever done for myself! I had PRK in November 2020 and the whole process was very streamlined, professional, and pleasant. Making appointments was easy even with covid, and they followed up with me even when I forgot my phone appointment! The process was painless, they were great with numbing drops and prep, they really have their ducks in a row with getting the prescriptions in hand and telling you what to do ahead of time. Dr. Hyver does the actual procedure and he's a pro, we were done in less than eight minutes I think. The recovery was not a problem, with PRK it takes longer than lasik but it wasn't bad. First day was blurry but no pain, and then days 2-3 were light sensitive and irritated, I sat in a dark room with a blanket and some audiobooks--which is a vacation for me so besides being slightly uncomfortable I was very happy. I babied myself for the first week and by about a week out I felt comfortable enough (vision quality that is, there was no pain by day 4) to drive. By a week and a half to two weeks my vision was perfect! It has been ever since. I had worn glasses since I was twelve and now I'm free! Glasses weren't a big deal but when you can experience life without them you'll be on cloud nine. For anyone taking the leap go for it! They are amazing! read more

Did not have surgery. Would like to commend Dr. Hyver & his staff for the thorough evaluation of what would be best for me. My eyes were healthy for Lasik but after testing out the contact lenses & me needing prisms, also the need for me to read up close medication vials as a Registered nurse it was determined it would be better for me to stay "near sighted " & use glasses for distance. Pretty bummed about it but thankful to Dr Hyver & his staff for exhausting all avenues to come to a conclusive decision. Super careful with covid precautions. Highly recommend. I had lasik surgery with Dr Scott Hyver 9 months ago. I can truly say that choosing Dr Hyver's professional services was the best decision i have ever made. I like the process they have in place for this surgery.. all the steps are being discussed and explained to you and the team is there to answer your questions anytime. This really made me trust the team and be more confident in the decision i've made. The surgery took a few minutes and I started to have a perfect vision in the next couple of weeks. It took my eyes a bit longer to get over the dryness and sun sensitivity (2-3 months) but this is expected. Great staff, customer service and most importantly, perfect vision. Each visit was with a different optometrist, all of whom were very friendly and knowledgable. You only get to meet Dr. Hyver once before your surgery and then for the 15 minutes or so during the surgery. They have a well-run office. Everything is like an assembly line or well oiled machine... very efficient. Others may prefer more face time or warm fuZzies with the surgeon, myself, I prefer to do the research and let the work speak for itself. You will pay more for a procedure here than most other places, but it's a premium I was willing to pay because of the experience that Dr. Hyver has from all the volume of procedures he performs. I had LASIK a month ago and am quite pleased. From the consultation to the exams, every staff member was personable and professional. They were always patient and willing to answer any question I had. I can't remember a time where I could wake up and see everything clearly, and now I'm seeing better than 20/20! It's not only remarkable, but emotional for me. My only advice would be if they offer you a sedative, take it! I wish I would have taken 2! Of course, my wonderful husband decided to remind me of the movie "Fire in the Sky" right before my procedure so my anxiety kicked into overdrive. Just got my eyes did and I love 'em!! Everything went absolutely perfect. No side effects, no complications... and now no more contacts. Ever. I did tons of research and asked for input from several people who've gotten it done. I decided on Hyver, knowing its is on the pricier side, but worth it. + Provides complimentary touch-ups - for as long as they are in practice just in case your vision does change. Plus Hyver is definitely on the youngish side so I expect this awesome "warranty" to last a while. + Amazing service - the team travels between three locations just to make it easier for their customers. There's several appointments pre and post surgery, and everything from booking to email reminders to actually starting on time has been nothing but smooth sailing. Even though they probably answer the same question ten times a day, they always explain in detail with a patient smile. + Lasik specialists - which not only means they'll get the actual surgery done right, but they've evaluated all sorts of eyes and can anticipate all sorts of questions and have years of experience in all sorts of situations. I went in for a consult April 12th....They were very thorough and I was there for over two hours but the outcome was worth it. My eyes are horrible. I got my first pair of glasses at age 5 and my first contacts at age 12. I have a astigmatism in both eyes and an extremely high prescription. I did not think lasiks would even be an option but I figured it couldn't hurt to be evaluated. They did extensive evaluations, not just to check my prescription strength but also to check the overall health and composition of my eyes to make sure I would be a good candidate. This actually really put me at ease. They were so thorough and communicated each step with me along the way. I dealt the most with Dr. Quan and Jessica. They were patient, professional and informative. Dr Hyver and his staff are meticulous and absolutely amazing!! My procedure was last Tuesday and my eye are still healing but the results have been great and so far are leaps and bounds beyond what I had expected. I went in at 4:15 Tuesday afternoon and was home by 5:30. They gave me very specific and easy to follow instructions for aftercare. I was able to drive myself to the post op the very next day....in fact....I was back at work at 7am Wed morning and could see. I experienced very little scratchiness in my eyes and honestly I am still in shock at how smooth and how well the whole process went. 10 STARS!!! The BEST decision I've ever made was to get my LASIK eye surgery with Dr. Hyver. I had my surgery in Feb 2021, and it's now mid-May 2021. Every interaction has been a perfect example of great service and care. I thought getting lasers to my eyeballs would be terrifying, but it was the greatest pain-free procedure I'll ever have. It's really easy to get in contact with the office through phone and emailing the staff person in charge of scheduling was very easy and she responds quickly. CONSULTATION: easy to schedule & was only a week or two away, all staff was friendly & behaving in a COVID-safe manner, every test they ran on my eyes was explained thoroughly. Immediately after the tests were done they got me in contact with the staff person in charge of scheduling and payment (Patient Counselor) as well as got me in contact with Dr. Hyver himself to describe the entire process and procedure with me. The Patient Counselor allowed me all the time I needed to discuss everything and ask questions and they gave me paperwork explaining everything. They immediately sent me an invoice after I decided to do the procedure and began scheduling the procedure. There is a payment plan option, but I didn't use that. THE SURGERY: I was in and out in less than hour and I was able to walk out perfectly fine. It didn't feel rushed at all, its just that quick of a procedure. The surgery was absolutely painless. I'm still amazed! They always checked to make sure I was feeling okay and their professionalism was outstanding. Immediately after I got up from the surgery bed I noticed an improvement in my vision. The instructions they give for post-surgery care was amazing and worked just like they said it would. My eyes only slightly burned for about 2.5 hours after surgery (they told me they'd burn for 3-4 hrs), and the burning just felt like I was cutting onions (which is exactly what they said it would feel like!). Four hours after my surgery my eyes felt great and my vision was amazing. The day after when I went in for my post-op appointment, my vision tested at 20/20. If I have any questions or concerns and at any time regarding my surgery or my eyes, I know I can call the office, and i know I have the number because they gave it to me repeatedly. If I ever feel like my eyesight is getting worse, all I have to do is call and they can give me a vision exam and do another LASIK procedure for free. Having eyes that function the way they're intended to is incredible. Prior to the surgery my vision was so poor that I wouldn't be able to work or drive without corrective lenses. Now I don't have to carry around my glasses or extra contacts in case something happens to the contacts in my eyes. I don't have to have my glasses on my nightstand when I go to bed in case there's an emergency in the middle of the night. It's so freeing!! read more

Had LASIK surgery yesterday and am seeing ~20/16 today, but that's not the only reason Dr. Hyver and his staff deserve all of these 5 stars. Everything from the consultation to the post-op was done very professionally with the utmost care and meticulousness. All of my emails and phone calls were attended to promptly. Every person I interacted with was knowledgeable, comforting, and friendly (especially to a scaredy cat like me!). I'll try not to repeat what everyone else has already said, so here are a few tips I have for others after going through the whole process: * Mention Yelp to get a discount on the overall surgery, they are somewhat willing to work with you on the cost (hint, hint). Overall though, given the area, doctor, and procedure, the price is competitive to other doctors in the area with similar reputations. This is not to say the procedure is cheap, it's just priced well within its class, especially since Dr. Hyver gives a great warranty. * Get ready for a couple expensive eye drop prescriptions: Vigamox is the antibiotic you have to take and Predisolone Acetate is the anti-inflammatory (use goodrx.com to find a coupon that you can use at the local drugstore, after comparing everywhere I found CVS to be the cheapest. The total for both should be around $150-$170 after coupons at this time of writing) * Get the preservative free artificial tears from Costco (Allergan brand Refresh 100 vials ~$20) * Approximate time spent at each visit: consultation ~1-1.5 hour, pre-op: ~45 mins-1 hour, surgery: 40 mins-1hour (actual surgery is ~15 mins), post op: ~20 mins. They are usually pretty prompt at taking you in at your scheduled time. * If you get freaked out at people touching your eyes, it only happens during the consultation and the actual surgery. Both times your eyes are numb so you barely feel it. * Not going to lie, the part of the procedure during the surgery where a device goes over your eye and pulls back the flap is pretty uncomfortable, thankfully it lasts no more than 30 seconds. This is the only painful part of the whole surgery, the rest is painless. Think of it this way, 30 seconds for each eye = 1 minute, so 1 minute of pain is worth a lifetime of good vision :-) * At the time of surgery, ask for a pillow for under your legs if you are extra freaked out as this will prevent you from fainting. They also have stress relief squishy balls to squeeze during surgery if you need them. * Don't skip taking your prescribed eyedrops, they make you take them for a reason (so you have a more comfortable recovery). I took the drops everyday at the exact times I was supposed to and I had barely any pain after surgery and very little dry eyes. * You need someone to drive you home after the pre-op (light sensitivity) and after surgery. * You can ask what your vision error is for each eye after the pre-op, they won't outright tell you, but they told me when I asked. You can also ask for what vision error the doctor treated you for after the surgery. For me one eye was -2 and it was treated for -2.25, the other eye was -1.75 and was treated for -2. He treated each eye for a bit more of an error to be safe for the future in case my vision changes slightly. This is what I can think of at the moment in terms of general tips, I'll add more if I think of any. When people say they feel like cattle being herded in and out of the surgery room in relation to Dr. Hyver's practice, I just don't get it. At the end of the day, this is a business, and LASIK is Hyver's Profession. He can't help it if he's a popular doctor with a lot of people wanting him to perform their surgery. I'm actually highly impressed with the way this business operates--so many things going on, yet so efficient and streamlined. The fact that so many people are choosing Hyver actually gave me more confidence in his practice and the fact that people are constantly going in and out of his surgery room tells me that they truly are top level experts in this field. Their business model belongs in a textbook for other businesses to learn from. Overall, this place has the whole package when it comes to getting LASIK done--a highly qualified doctor, top notch staff, great locations, best technology, etc. You can't really go wrong. When I was looking into getting my laser surgery I didn't see a lot of reviews for the PRK option that I did. This is why I am giving my opinion because it would have been helpful to know more about what to expect. Exam before the surgery is where they check your vision, shape of your eye and the strength of the cornea. Once you do all their tests (takes about 30 min) you visit with Dr. Hyver where he discusses your options for surgery and you are able to ask all the questions you have. They have a lot of information for you to read so you are able to ask informed questions and get past the surface questions like what will you expect on surgery day and will it hurt. From there you schedule the appointment and meet with the counselor to talk about payment options. Day of surgery arrive early, wear something comfortable and relax. It really will be over before you know it. They check your vision again before the surgery and prep you. When you and they are ready they take you in the laser room and you lay down and relax. They have a few lights for you to focus on and they put numbing drops in your eye. Make sure you get enough or that you say something if you feel anything. They hold your eye open with a little clamp. I know that sounds scary but it really isn't, you hardly feel it and by the second eye its no problem. They wash your eyes out well and tell you to sit up and you are done (about 5 min). You get styling sunglasses and then you go home and rest. The PRK is different from Lasic because instead of creating a flap they are "rubbing' off the top layer of the eye. This sounds scary and when its happening it looks really weird but trust me its not something to worry about. Also when they tell you that your vision is blurry for the first few days- trust them. They are. It took me 4 days to see better and then it took about 2 weeks to a month to have the vision clear. After you stop using the night gel on your eyes you will be so amazed at how well you see, but you might worry before that. Just remember that it gets better as the days go by. By my month check up I was seeing 20/20 and now I have 20/15. It just gets better over time. Post Op: All the reviews said that this was painful after the surgery. Just follow their instruction and relax. Don't try and be a hero and do everything. Sleep some, relax. Don't think you are going to read anything because you can't see... The medicine I was taking made me sleepy so I slept a lot. I thought it was helpful to have someone there to read me my instructions, I would think about that if you are looking into this surgery. It takes a while to clear the reading vision. They also have these "comfort drops" in your pack to take home. Keep these with you for the first week. These were amazing!!! Anytime I felt irritation in the eye I used this and it was gone and I was feeling fine. Dr Hyver's office staff are all really nice and willing to help at any time. I called late at night to ask a question and they were there to help me. Questions are welcome and they really want to make you feel comfortable and secure about this. They know these are your eyes they are working with, its a big deal. Doing this surgery was the best thing I ever did. If you are looking into this and are on the fence or scared~ don't be. What little discomfort you have will be a small drop in the bucket compared to how awesome it is to not wear glasses or contacts. read more

I got my Lasik done on the 25th, and so far, everything's been perfect. Granted, I was in SERIOUS pain the night of the surgery, and I was absolutely miserable. But later on that night, the pain was gone. The next morning I had a follow-up appointment and I was already seeing 20/15. Things were still a bit fuzzy and my pupils were practically triangles, but it was amazing how quickly my vision sharpened throughout the day. Nearly a week later, most of the light sensivity and halos are pretty much gone. I haven't had any dry eyes or other problems. The staff was professional and friendly, and Dr. Hyver seemed knowledgeable and everyone made me as comfortable as I could be (I was absolutely terrified). Dr. Hyver meets with all potential candidates for Lasik, which I think is great, and different from the other place I was considering. It was nice being able to put a face to my surgeon when I couldn't see anything. I'm still trying to get used to not having contacts, but that's definitely not a complaint! read more

First step I did was order the free DVD. Next thing was that I scheduled a complimentary LASIK consulation. It took about 10 days but not bad, probably busy at summer time as people need the free time to recover I bet. I was about 15 minutes late for my 1:30 appt. I called and they said it should be fine as a person will be ahead. There are two buildings labeled 200 in San Ramon on Porter way right off crow Canyon pass home depot and staples, you take a right on Porter. I accidently went in the West (first) building, then someone told me Hyvers office was the east just right next HIGHER up. You take the elevator on the left to 2nd floor and get off and his office is to the right. You have to take off your contacts but they have a clean bathroom right down the small hall from the office. You have to fill out a one page preliminary form. The receptionists are professional and courteous. They have drinking water and breathmints in case anyone needs it. I loved the personally autographed framed posters of the athletes/coaches he performed LASiK on ie. Patrick Willis, Staley, Mike Nolan, Bill Walsh. After a few eye pressure tests and eye numbing and scans, you talk to Dr. Hyver about his assessment. He is down to earth and doesn't rush you. He answers all your questions in simple english-not in medical terminology! There are two methods LASIK and PRK. I was a candidate of PRK. It will be no interest for 24 months and will be under $5k, not bad, I feel it will be well worth it. Lastly is you sit down and get to talk to a counselor about what exactly will go down before and after surgery, the medicine instructions and actions that you have to take to have a successful surgery. I am really satisfied with this appointment and am 90% sure I will elect to have the surgery scheduled soon. I CANT WAIT!!! Dr. Hyver was honest that my night vision would probably get worse if I got the procedure done so we decided I would wait some more. I BELIEVE IN SCOTT HYVER VISION CARE! Like the believers of the Golden State Warriors and the awesome teamwork they portray, Scott Hyver's team of players is no less magnificent! I had one LASIK right eye surgery performed by another well known ophthalmologist in the area and had good results. Due to budget constraints and skepticism about various quickie surgeons, one eye, the left, had remained unaltered for 13 years after the first surgery to the right eye. I had heard about Scott Hyver on the radio about two years ago. He had the credentials, Harvard trained. At the time, I still had not known of his reputation and I really felt I did not have the time window available to have the surgery performed. I mean, who really wants to take a week of precious vacation to have eye surgery performed? Fast forward two years and a now shining reputation for Scot Hyver. Well, as circumstance would have it, I had the window of opportunity AND the funds to proceed with the surgery. The entire pre-op post-op staff is great from the girls at the front desk, to the optometrist form Daly City, to the finance woman. Geek for a week, 10 minutes in the operating room and VOILA! Now my left eye has 20/15 vision! AMAZING! BOO-YAH! Now I have built in mono-vision and no longer the need for contacts or glasses. It still seems weird not taking out a contact lens or putting on glasses. I had bad vision since fourth grade and I am now in my 50's. My sister had her PRK done by Dr. Hyver and so he was highly recommended by her and others (I did my research). I approached them and appointment setting was quite easy and the staff is very friendly and helpful. My appointments went very smoothly and Dr. Hyver and his staff answered all my questions. The risks of the surgery were explained and chances for those risks as well. Dr. Hyver is conservative in his selection of appropriate candidates for LASIK and other procedures he performs especially if the risks outweigh the benefits. I really respect him in this as other doctors may be out to make money regardless of the risks involved. Financing options are available as well. You can use your HSA or FSA or you can finance through Care Credit offered through Dr. Hyver for qualified candidates. I also received a family and friends discount since I was referred by my sister and another discount through my vision plan through work. Dr. Hyver looked at my pre op results and determined that I was a good candidate for LASIK so that is what I got done by Dr. Hyver in November of 2013. During the procedure, I asked Dr. Hyver to explain in detail exactly what he was doing as he was doing it and he explained in great detail. My post op appointments also went smoothly. At the time, there was a promotion for 49er tickets and a tour of the new stadium that is currently being built in Santa Clara. I received the tickets and enjoyed the game. Am waiting for the the stadium to be done for the tour. I would not trust something as important as my eyes to anyone else. I am doing very well and I feel as if I have HD vision. I'm glad I decided to go with Dr. Hyver for my lasik surgery. The staff was extremely friendly and made me feel comfortable every step of the way. From consultations all the way to the day of surgery. The office was helpful with finding available discounts and setting up the payment arrangements. It's been since Feb2013 since I got my surgery, and my vision is still very good. I can see 20/15 which is better than 20/20. I don't experience any halos. I didn't experience any complications during, or after surgery, nor did I experience any pain. I love how he has offices in different parts of the bay... it makes it really convenient for appointments. I had my consultation in Santa Clara which is by my job, but the surgery in San Ramon... which was closer to my home. The ONLY thing I would probably suggest is if the facility offered the antibacterial eye drops that you're supposed to pick up before you get your procedure done. It seems practical if they perform only one kind of procedure and know that they are prescribing the same drops EVERY single time that they would have a supply of their own to distribute. I had my Lasik done by Dr. Hyver in September of 2013 and It couldn't have been a better experience! This had been something that I was contemplating for a long time. Having worn glasses throughout my childhood and contacts through my twenties, it was time to make the change and have the Lasik done. I wasn't sure if I qualified for Lasik since I have astigmatism in both of my eyes but Dr. Hyver and his staff reassured me and confirmed that I was qualified for the Lasik procedure. I was getting married the second week of October 2013 and wanted to make sure that I was fully recovered by that time. This was one of the best choices I have ever made. The office made everything very simple and easy. On the day of the procedure I was in and out and still could see good enough to walkout. I had PRK which I had never heard of before going to Dr Hyver but thing went well. Recovery was rough the third day but quickly after I was seeing great. I have been contemplating Lasik for years. I was hesitant because of the cost, but Scott Hyper offers such a great payment plan. The consultation was extremely thorough which I appreciated. I qualified and once I did I believe I emailed poor Melissa J a million questions. I literally emailed her twice a week or more with questions. She never got tired of answering me and gave me great clarification. I've worn glasses since high school and had a -3.00 prescription when I got Lasik in November 2018. It was the craziest thing when I woke up the next morning with 20/15 vision (better than 20/20). I would highly recommend getting lasik with Dr. Hyver. Seriously, it's the best thing I've ever done. While it was pricey; I would never trust a discount dr. with my eyes. While I did not love the actual lasik process (it didn't hurt, it was definitely all mental!); Dr. Hyver and his team were incredibly helpful through the whole process. I had VERY bad vision. 20/80 (-7.50) and 20/300 (-13.50). I now have 20/20 vision (even after 2 years of surgery)!!! I went to 3 different doctors for consultations; Newman, Hyver and Bindi. I ended up using Dr. Bindi. Please go read my review on Dr. Bindi and why I chose him. Here's why I gave Hyver a 3 star. Price: Most expensive Technology: Newest; comparable to Dr. Bindi Doctor: Meeting Dr. Hyver was very formal; like walking into your boss' office for a serious talk. He remained very serious throughout my time with him. You walk into his office vs him walking to you. Consultation/Tests/Staff: Had the most thorough testing. This is the only Dr. who tested for dry eyes. Hyver's counterpart (Asian man) was so friendly, very much loved his job and easy to talk to. This office didn't check my vision. Overall Thoughts: If you want great technology (I did my research), this is your doctor. If you want someone warm and comforting, go elsewhere. read more
