I recently tried this place for the first time. Their lomo saltado is fantastic, the dish was so flavorful. I look forward to returning. Staff was attentive. read more

I've been here quite a few times with family and have always enjoyed the food! The lomo is the best! The chaufa is excellent. Everyone I've brought has really enjoyed eating here! Sadly, the service has changed and lacking. I'm old school and big on customer service. It completes the dining experience. Without the friendly faces, the smiles, the food suggestions, the asking of needing anything else or considering dessert really takes away from a great dining experience. I waited for 10 minutes until I finally got up and walked over to the 3 staff members and asked them to take my order. Mind you, the restaurant only had 2 other families sitting at that time. The servers were all chatting amongst each other, one texting on their phone as if they were on a break. We finally had somebody come and take our order and stop by the table a couple of times just to ask if everything was okay. But never asked would you guys like dessert or anything like that. Just very impersonable. Usually small family-owned businesses are more attentive and really try to make the customer happy so that they come back. If it wasn't that the food was so good, I probably would not come back I don't live in the area so for me to drive to Rancho it needs to be good food AND good service. I hope the customer service improves so that this restaurant may continue to have success. read more

Located in the same plaza further to the left of Haven Market off Haven Ave. enough parking available. The restaurant is nestled in the corner to the right. My family had been here before, but this was my first time here. Waking in, you wait to be seated. The place was crowded for dinner but we didn't wait too long. The server was friendly and spoke to us in Spanish but he did switch up when we answered in English. He served us water with a pitcher left at the table and brought some dinner rolls which was freshly baked and tasted pretty good. Three of us ordered the Lomo Saltado and my husband had the Arros con mariscos. Wow! That's all I can say because my mouth was filled with flavorful tender cooked beef with onions and tomatoes. I didn't care much for the fries and preferred the rice. I wished I could get the recipe because I would love to cook this at home. The ambiance was bustling. The vibe was very upbeat and everyone was loud and enjoying their meals. Would we come here again? Yes definitely! Please support your small local businesses like this restaurant. read more

After looking at a few places I decided to try micas , I know the area so not hard to find . Coll little patio to sit outside, came in , grabbed menus and waited a couple mins to be seated . After looking over the menu decided to go with the 1/2 rotisserie chicken and two sides , so I ask for the rice and beans and a side of plantains , the waitress tells me they have no beans WTH!? And no plantains !?! Whoa!! I was really disappointed!!! We got complementary bread and butter and the greenish sauce that at Peruvian restaurants is usually really good , this one was just ok . Not too spicy like others . So had to go with the rice and salad , salad dressing was limited , it came with ranch . The chicken was pretty good . We also ordered the ceviche, this was the best of the meal! The taste the tenderness of the fish , the lime juice and spices , so much flavor !! It was really really good . Had a sangria to drink , it was ok too , nothing special . Inside vibe is cool , plenty of room for groups . Would come back for the ceviche and to try the empanadas read more

Mica's never fails to impress. The food is always hot and fresh and I used to doordash Mica's all the time over COVID, but it's so different dining in. When you dine in the dinner size for the Chaufa de Carne is huge. They give you like twice the amount and it always hits. You have to make sure you drench your food in their Aji cause it's so addicting. The service is always respectful and always checking up which is nice. The place was heavily decorated in Peruvian Pride and a lot of light pours into the restaurant during the day which is nice. GO HERE!!!! read more

I usually have my go-to lomo saltado place that I absolutely LOVE so I'm always skeptical trying new places but I was quickly impressed with Mica's. The meat was tender and flavorful and the fries soaked with the juices was very delicious. I have to come back and try their other dishes when I'm in the area! read more

#10 for 2021 If you're looking for something different than what's offered at Haven City Market Food Court, walk on over to Mica's for some delicious food of the Asian Persuasion Fusion kind. You will not be disappointed. Coming for lunch was nice to enjoy the warm weather. So sitting outside was appropriate. The single server working the outside seating was wearing a mask but no gloves. A sanitation station is available to use before seating. Our server sat us down immediately and brought the menu over. Printed on both sides, it was fairly easy to chose quickly what to order. Not strangers to the cuisine we still had some questions. They were answered knowledgably and politely. She did check on us a few times making sure we had everyting we needed. A brown bag was brought to our table carrying plastic utensils, napkins, condiments and mini breads freshly baked. So good. I ate them plain enjoying the flavor and freshness of what I haven't had in a long time. A creamy pesto made with cilantro went well to further enhance the freshness as I'm told by my party. The half order of chicken $12.50 was very favorable with the taste of vinegar. It went well with the chicken. A different way to enjoy fried chicken. Peruvian beans and salad complemented the dish making it a hearty meal. Tallarin Saltado Vegetal $10.50 is spaghetti noodle with sauteed vegetables in a soy, vinegar and cilantro sauce. That sauce brought it another level. Really enjoyed the flavor and well cooked vegetables maintaining their flavor and some of their crunchiness. The Chaufa de Mariscos $14.50 is a Peruvian fried rice made with shrimp, mussels and calamari. It made Peruvian but it tasted pure Asian. There was a fair amount of seafood and the serving was plenty for our party of three. It was a very comfortable setting. Although many of the tables were taken we were distanced more than adequate. The noise level was minimum. Not many cars either since it was located on the opposite end of the building of the food court. I actually felt like I could've been sitting in a friend's backyard. Restrooms are located in the bar next door. Having the same owner makes it convenient. We've been here a few times since moving into the area and I'm sure we'll be coming back for more. read more

My family and I was craving some peruvian food so I came here knowing that it was nearby in the same plaza of Haven City Market. I chose to get the tacu tacu ($13) and lomo saltado ($12). The tacu tacu is rice with mashed beans mixed into it with sliced beef, tomatoes, and onions. The beef was tender and the sauce was not too salty. The lomo saltado was tender and had plenty of beef with french fries, tomatoes, and sliced onions. The ají sauce was 2 small containers per platter, it was not spicy or too salty. They have outdoor dining, plenty of people eating on the patio. There was a wait for tables. Lots of tables and the staff is nice. I made mine to-go so the wait was a bit long. read more

This place is a little gem that my parents introduced me to. The tacu tacu de pollo is my personal go to and they have this cheese empanada that is absolutely divine (actually sad that they don't sell them on their own, you have to get the trio). The flavor is everything here and if you're craving something sweet their bread pudding and churros will hit the spot. read more

My previous post was removed, and I have to share this so everyone knows about the roaches. This restaurant has roaches! We notified management and they were passive about the situation, and mentioned the roaches from outside. They were German roaches not the large ones. There were multiple roaches. I found them in the little hallway and in the bathroom. Why was my first post removed if we did find roaches in the facility?! read more

It's a lively environment inside Mica. Music is cranked up and Christmas lights festoon the room. Perhaps it pulses the way it does to keep up with the energy at neighboring Haven City Market. Although its food is head and shoulders above any of the social media ready stalls in the Market. From what I can tell, Mica serves a broader variety of Peruvian fair than that typical of other I.E. spots. While others are limited to cuisine from the coastal regions, Mica goes broader. Case in point, the tamal, which is typically eaten in the cosquena region. Then again, perhaps it only serves tamales because it is operating in the U.S., our nation having been swept by a tamal tidal wave going back to the late 19th century. Anyway, it is a good tamal. Well, not quite. The masa is well seasoned, rich and tender, wrapped in a banana leaf. Contrary to the masa, the chicken within is dry, tough, and stringy. It is garnished with a single kalamata olive, not pitted, careful you don't crack a molar. Notwithstanding the crummy chicken, its still an appetizer worth ordering. Maybe you can bat your eyelashes at the waitress and ask her to bring out a side of aji verde or huancaina sauce to give the chicken a drink. I also had the ceviche de pescado: my very first Peruvian ceviche. I noticed how tender the fish was, not cooked by the acid to the extent found in most Mexican ceviche. The extreme tartness of the leche de tigre was balanced by boiled sweet potato and the earthiness of the boiled hominy and roasted chilpas. And I did have a bottle of Cosquena Morena beer. Sweet, toasty, slightly of licorice. read more

Rotisserie Chicken is excellent here. The half chicken was fall-off-the-bone tender and well browned. Peruano beans were perfect frijoles de la olla. Fried bananas were thick and moist. Yucca was fried very crispy and french fries were ok. Frescolita is a strawberry soda from Venezuela, add some lime to it! read more

LOMO SALTADO. Was craving it out of the blue and luckily Mica's was nearby. The meat was tender and seasoned well. It was so good I tried to ration the meat to make sure I had enough in each bite of rice and fries. The only downside was really the serving size (which is just right but I'm a piggy and wanted more). I didn't care much for the Salchipapa but my kids enjoyed the dish. Don't skip the fried bananas! read more

It's been a MINUTE since I've been here but I decided to come after a day of shopping at the Mill's and let me tell you, the food is still amazing as I remembered. I ordered the Tallarin Saltado de Carne, and it pretty much hits the spot when you are craving lomo saltado, but also want noodles. It has sauteed beef strips, tomatoes, bell peppers with spaghetti noodles. It is SOO good and flavorful but what makes it even better is their green cilantro sauce. I also ordered a few trios of their empanadas! On my visit there, while waiting for the food, I decided to try their homemade dulce de leche cookies and I ended up buying 3 boxes because it was so delicious. The staff here are really friendly and I always enjoy the food! read more

Simply delicious. Love the Saltado de mariscos and Lomo Saltado. Always my go-tos with a inka Cola.

First time trying this place, will be my list. I grew up eating Peruvian food and has Peruvian food in many states. I was not impressed. We got there about 2pm, only 3 other tables were occupied. They sat us with menus, but never came back to take order, I got up to the register about to order food, server then started she would go to our table. We order ceviche de pescado and an appetizer. They brought out our ceviche but it was shrimp, they had to return it Choclo was not fully done... Ceviche lacked flavored Mom order a chicha morada and it was like water with red color no flavor. Papa a la huacaina was good. read more

The food and service is always really good . If you want authentic Peruvian food , this is the place ! Highly recommended .

Celebrating my wife's birthday today, she was in the mood for peruvian food. So we came to Micas for the second time. When we arrived there was only one table being occupied. So they weren't busy. With that said, the serviced sucked. Never once did our waiter ask us if we wanted more water or more alcohol or even dessert. In fact, I had to get up myself twice to ask for more chili, and the bill. If your wondering was the food good. Some of it was some of it wasn't. * Pescado Frito (Fried Fish) - Over fried "Super Dry" * Lomo Saltado - It was average. The meat was chewy the sauce was good. From a 1-10 I'd say it was a 7.5 * Choklo con Queso - Really good * Adult Drinks: Pisco Sour was good & Maracuya Sour also good Chances of us coming back are slim to none! C-Ya read more

I had been wanting to try Peruvian ceviche for a while and finally got to try it at Mica's! I had the ceviche mixto and leche de tigre. They both tasted pretty similar to me; leche de Tigre was supposed to be on the spicier side but it definitely was not spicy lol. Both ceviches were extremely acidic, my teeth were starting to hurt lol. They had a really good flavor but next time I won't be doing both ceviche's. Would definitely visit again! read more

Workers always have a nasty attitude whether it's over the phone or in person. They gave away our phone order to another customer and had the audacity to ask if we wanted to wait for said customer to come back with the returned food. Why would we want food that a stranger had in their possession for 20 minutes, and clearly OPENED the food boxes to realize it wasn't their order. They had us wait another 20 minutes just to short us on the green sauces (we know, 1 sauce per plate) the male employee denied that he said that before and asked us to pay for extra sauce. This place is a joke, no remorse, no respect, no shame no apologies read more

Went to the La Verne location and this place rocks! My husband and I both got the fried rice with steak absolutely delicious!!

Recently came back and it totally changed, for the better. The food was spectacular. My Peruvian in-laws approved 100%. Ordered the jalea and lomo saltado and they were full of flavor, perfectly cooked, and came with a lot of huacatay sauce. My wife ordered the tallarin saltado and she loved it too. The server that attended us, however, didn't know what she was doing. She kept on having to repeat our orders back to us because she kept inputting wrong on her machine. Also, when I ordered a beer, say beer#1, she said it was out. So I ordered a different type, say beer#2. Then when I finished I ordered another beer#2, but then she came out with a beer#1. read more

Peruvian Food will always have a special place in my heart and I love trying other Peruvian Restaurants that we haven't been to. I've been wanting to try Mica's for sometime. After our outing we had, my Girlfriend and I wanted some Peruvian Food. Called them and they placed me on hold for 5 mins. I wanted to call ahead for take out to avoid the wait, but it was busy. Mica's is located on Haven Ave and Arrow Ave, next to the Haven Food Court. When I arrived, the place was busy so I had to wait. I was able to place my order and got: Lomo Saltado, Arroz Chaufa de Carne, 2 Chicha Morada and Alfahores. While I was waiting, Mica's has a lot of really nice Peruvian decor. One thing I noticed on the wall said "Good Vibes" in neon; which I thought was cool and unique. I would say about 15-20mins later, our order was ready and was looking forward in having some Peruvian Food. We get home and we started sharing our order. I noticed for the side order of fried plantains, there was only 4 pieces in the container. I was expecting maybe 5-6 pieces at least. But I guess for the price, you get what you paid for. The Arroz Chaufa de Carne was really good and the flavors that were used, were really delicious. For the Lomo Saltado, it was ok in my personal opinion. The meat was really tender, which was good but when we opened the container, it looked dry. The rice soaked up the juice. To be fair, I think if we ate it at the restaurant, it would be different. The Alfajores, were an awesome treat for dessert and one of the best I have had. In my personal opinion, I would return to Mica's and eat it there. Food is better eaten at the restaurant than take out. Of course there are exceptions. Our overall experience was okay. I was disappointed with the number of fried plantains in my opinion and the Lomo Saltado being dry, but eating at Mica's would have been better for us. We will do that next time. read more

We have never eaten here so this review is solely for take out. Everything and every time we order, the food has been great! Their steak lomo saltado is my favorite. The veggies are always crisp. Delicious Food!!! Moderately Priced. I've had the tallarines with beef and the lomo saltado. All 3 times the food has been fantastic. The first time I dined in they seated us and brought out what looked like corn nuts (interesting but tasty) and the second time they brought out bread. I would've preferred the corn nuts,, bread was just meh. Service is good they always have plenty of staff so there's no long waits for drinks or food. They also serve alcohol and cocktails but I haven't tried those yet. All in all definitely a place I'll be visiting often! read more
