Workers always have a nasty attitude whether it's over the phone or in person. They gave away our phone order to another customer and had the audacity to ask if we wanted to wait for said customer to come back with the returned food. Why would we want food that a stranger had in their possession for 20 minutes, and clearly OPENED the food boxes to realize it wasn't their order. They had us wait another 20 minutes just to short us on the green sauces (we know, 1 sauce per plate) the male employee denied that he said that before and asked us to pay for extra sauce. The food is really good. Very tasty. I got the taste of authentic Peruvian food. The place is very clean. The service is fast and no matter what you order. It's always fresh and it taste is amazing. Also, I like all the different drinks that they have and they have a great seating area outside the restaurant, whether you eat inside or outside, you will get a great service. This place is a little gem that my parents introduced me to. The tacu tacu de pollo is my personal go to and they have this cheese empanada that is absolutely divine (actually sad that they don't sell them on their own, you have to get the trio). #10 for 2021 If you're looking for something different than what's offered at Haven City Market Food Court, walk on over to Mica's for some delicious food of the Asian Persuasion Fusion kind. You will not be disappointed. Coming for lunch was nice to enjoy the warm weather. So sitting outside was appropriate. The single server working the outside seating was wearing a mask but no gloves. A sanitation station is available to use before seating. Our server sat us down immediately and brought the menu over. Printed on both sides, it was fairly easy to chose quickly what to order. Not strangers to the cuisine we still had some questions. They were answered knowledgably and politely. She did check on us a few times making sure we had everyting we needed. A brown bag was brought to our table carrying plastic utensils, napkins, condiments and mini breads freshly baked. So good. I ate them plain enjoying the flavor and freshness of what I haven't had in a long time. A creamy pesto made with cilantro went well to further enhance the freshness as I'm told by my party. The half order of chicken $12.50 was very favorable with the taste of vinegar. It went well with the chicken. A different way to enjoy fried chicken. Peruvian beans and salad complemented the dish making it a hearty meal. Tallarin Saltado Vegetal $10.50 is spaghetti noodle with sauteed vegetables in a soy, vinegar and cilantro sauce. That sauce brought it another level. Really enjoyed the flavor and well cooked vegetables maintaining their flavor and some of their crunchiness. The Chaufa de Mariscos $14.50 is a Peruvian fried rice made with shrimp, mussels and calamari. It made Peruvian but it tasted pure Asian. There was a fair amount of seafood and the serving was plenty for our party of three. It was a very comfortable setting. Although many of the tables were taken we were distanced more than adequate. The noise level was minimum. Not many cars either since it was located on the opposite end of the building of the food court. I actually felt like I could've been sitting in a friend's backyard. Restrooms are located in the bar next door. Having the same owner makes it convenient. We've been here a few times since moving into the area and I'm sure we'll be coming back for more. read more

My family and I was craving some peruvian food so I came here knowing that it was nearby in the same plaza of Haven City Market. I chose to get the tacu tacu ($13) and lomo saltado ($12). The tacu tacu is rice with mashed beans mixed into it with sliced beef, tomatoes, and onions. The beef was tender and the sauce was not too salty. The lomo saltado was tender and had plenty of beef with french fries, tomatoes, and sliced onions. The ají sauce was 2 small containers per platter, it was not spicy or too salty. They have outdoor dining, plenty of people eating on the patio. There was a wait for tables. Lots of tables and the staff is nice. I made mine to-go so the wait was a bit long. read more

It's a lively environment inside Mica. Music is cranked up and Christmas lights festoon the room. Perhaps it pulses the way it does to keep up with the energy at neighboring Haven City Market. Although its food is head and shoulders above any of the social media ready stalls in the Market. From what I can tell, Mica serves a broader variety of Peruvian fair than that typical of other I.E. spots. While others are limited to cuisine from the coastal regions, Mica goes broader. Case in point, the tamal, which is typically eaten in the cosquena region. Then again, perhaps it only serves tamales because it is operating in the U.S., our nation having been swept by a tamal tidal wave going back to the late 19th century. Anyway, it is a good tamal. Well, not quite. The masa is well seasoned, rich and tender, wrapped in a banana leaf. Contrary to the masa, the chicken within is dry, tough, and stringy. It is garnished with a single kalamata olive, not pitted, careful you don't crack a molar. Notwithstanding the crummy chicken, its still an appetizer worth ordering. Maybe you can bat your eyelashes at the waitress and ask her to bring out a side of aji verde or huancaina sauce to give the chicken a drink. I also had the ceviche de pescado: my very first Peruvian ceviche. I noticed how tender the fish was, not cooked by the acid to the extent found in most Mexican ceviche. The extreme tartness of the leche de tigre was balanced by boiled sweet potato and the earthiness of the boiled hominy and roasted chilpas. And I did have a bottle of Cosquena Morena beer. Rotisserie Chicken is excellent here. The half chicken was fall-off-the-bone tender and well browned. Peruano beans were perfect frijoles de la olla. Fried bananas were thick and moist. LOMO SALTADO. Was craving it out of the blue and luckily Mica's was nearby. The meat was tender and seasoned well. It was so good I tried to ration the meat to make sure I had enough in each bite of rice and fries. The only downside was really the serving size (which is just right but I'm a piggy and wanted more). I didn't care much for the Salchipapa but my kids enjoyed the dish. First time trying this place, will be my list. I grew up eating Peruvian food and has Peruvian food in many states. I was not impressed. We got there about 2pm, only 3 other tables were occupied. They sat us with menus, but never came back to take order, I got up to the register about to order food, server then started she would go to our table. We order ceviche de pescado and an appetizer. They brought out our ceviche but it was shrimp, they had to return it Choclo was not fully done... Ceviche lacked flavored Mom order a chicha morada and it was like water with red color no flavor. We have to come here atleast once a week. Everything on the menu is so amazing and flavorful. The food always tastes so fresh and authentic. Our go-to is the Lomo Saltado and the Leche De Tigre Mixta. If you like ceviche please try the Leche De Tigre. Stacia is always so nice and the service is always great. This place is always busy. I had been wanting to try Peruvian ceviche for a while and finally got to try it at Mica's! I had the ceviche mixto and leche de tigre. They both tasted pretty similar to me; leche de Tigre was supposed to be on the spicier side but it definitely was not spicy lol. Both ceviches were extremely acidic, my teeth were starting to hurt lol. They had a really good flavor but next time I won't be doing both ceviche's. Would definitely visit again! read more

It's been a MINUTE since I've been here but I decided to come after a day of shopping at the Mill's and let me tell you, the food is still amazing as I remembered. I ordered the Tallarin Saltado de Carne, and it pretty much hits the spot when you are craving lomo saltado, but also want noodles. It has sauteed beef strips, tomatoes, bell peppers with spaghetti noodles. It is SOO good and flavorful but what makes it even better is their green cilantro sauce. I also ordered a few trios of their empanadas! On my visit there, while waiting for the food, I decided to try their homemade dulce de leche cookies and I ended up buying 3 boxes because it was so delicious. Peruvian Food will always have a special place in my heart and I love trying other Peruvian Restaurants that we haven't been to. I've been wanting to try Mica's for sometime. After our outing we had, my Girlfriend and I wanted some Peruvian Food. Called them and they placed me on hold for 5 mins. I wanted to call ahead for take out to avoid the wait, but it was busy. Mica's is located on Haven Ave and Arrow Ave, next to the Haven Food Court. When I arrived, the place was busy so I had to wait. I was able to place my order and got: Lomo Saltado, Arroz Chaufa de Carne, 2 Chicha Morada and Alfahores. While I was waiting, Mica's has a lot of really nice Peruvian decor. One thing I noticed on the wall said "Good Vibes" in neon; which I thought was cool and unique. I would say about 15-20mins later, our order was ready and was looking forward in having some Peruvian Food. We get home and we started sharing our order. I noticed for the side order of fried plantains, there was only 4 pieces in the container. I was expecting maybe 5-6 pieces at least. But I guess for the price, you get what you paid for. The Arroz Chaufa de Carne was really good and the flavors that were used, were really delicious. For the Lomo Saltado, it was ok in my personal opinion. The meat was really tender, which was good but when we opened the container, it looked dry. The rice soaked up the juice. To be fair, I think if we ate it at the restaurant, it would be different. The Alfajores, were an awesome treat for dessert and one of the best I have had. In my personal opinion, I would return to Mica's and eat it there. Food is better eaten at the restaurant than take out. Of course there are exceptions. Our overall experience was okay. I was disappointed with the number of fried plantains in my opinion and the Lomo Saltado being dry, but eating at Mica's would have been better for us. We will do that next time. read more

I've been coming here for years because of the amazing quality of food for takeout but always had a terrible time with dining in. Food is amazing but I can never have a good time dining in with the waiters. They were playing inappropriate music that had curse words such as (50 Cent, Kendrick Lamar etc) which wasn't what I expected considering this restaurant was supposed to be a family friendly establishment. I've been to the other Peruvian restaurants nearby and never have I dealt with such unprofessionalism. Also the very tall young man waiter was being very perverted towards the woman, had a staring problem and would scope out the customers inappropriately. They were eager to rush out customers and would gossip amongst each other nearby. Not to mention how the service charge was a surprise especially with how mid grade leve service it was. We have never eaten here so this review is solely for take out. Everything and every time we order, the food has been great! Their steak lomo saltado is my favorite. The veggies are always crisp. Never over sautéed. The steak is always tender and never overly cooked. Love their green sauce. By the time our food gets home, it's still nice and warm. Yum! read more

Delicious Food!!! Moderately Priced. I've had the tallarines with beef and the lomo saltado. All 3 times the food has been fantastic. The first time I dined in they seated us and brought out what looked like corn nuts (interesting but tasty) and the second time they brought out bread. I would've preferred the corn nuts,, bread was just meh. Service is good they always have plenty of staff so there's no long waits for drinks or food. They also serve alcohol and cocktails but I haven't tried those yet. All in all definitely a place I'll be visiting often! read more
