I've been here quite a few times with family and have always enjoyed the food! The lomo is the best! The chaufa is excellent. Everyone I've brought has really enjoyed eating here! Sadly, the service has changed and lacking. I'm old school and big on customer service. It completes the dining experience. Without the friendly faces, the smiles, the food suggestions, the asking of needing anything else or considering dessert really takes away from a great dining experience. I waited for 10 minutes until I finally got up and walked over to the 3 staff members and asked them to take my order. Mind you, the restaurant only had 2 other families sitting at that time. The servers were all chatting amongst each other, one texting on their phone as if they were on a break. We finally had somebody come and take our order and stop by the table a couple of times just to ask if everything was okay. But never asked would you guys like dessert or anything like that. Just very impersonable. Usually small family-owned businesses are more attentive and really try to make the customer happy so that they come back. If it wasn't that the food was so good, I probably would not come back I don't live in the area so for me to drive to Rancho it needs to be good food AND good service. I hope the customer service improves so that this restaurant may continue to have success. read more

As you approach the entrance, you feel that South American vibe and it continues throughout your moments there! We started off with the assorted empanadas, with were delicious! I particularly favored the beef. My brother and his wife said that the portions were hefty, and they absolutely were! We ordered chaufa de carne (fried rice m) , pesto spaghetti with your choice of a grilled chicken breast or breaded. I'm glad I chose breaded, lomo saltado, and mixto Del Mar which was so tasty except that this was the first Peruvian restaurant that didn't place a piece of yam in their ceviche. That's how I always had Peruvian ceviche. I especially enjoyed my refreshing glass of chicha morada!! Mom and sister had Peruvian for the first time. They loved it! Especially the aji! Mica's is a great little restaurant in Rancho Cucamonga. Located in the same strip mall as the Haven City Market, this restaurant was a little hard to find being in a corner but it's right next to the goodwill. There is both indoor and outdoor seating, outdoor area has some artificial grass the tables sit on and it's actually quite nice, although we sat inside because of the weather. Service was great, server was attentive and it was easy to get assistance when needed. The menu is pretty lengthy with the main choices being vegetarian, Mariscos (seafood), chicken, and beef. I ordered the Bisteck a lo Pobre and it was really good. The sauce they brought out with the bread rolls was probably my favorite thing. I ate it with not only the bread but my entree as well. Today I was told no because they didn't have a anote about it. I paid for my drinks, and it's not my fault that they have a poor system. The food was excellent except for the chicken breast in the parilla mixta. It was a bit dry. To be fair it was chicken breast. The ceviche mixta was the bomb! The potatoes with yellow sauce was amazingly flavorful. The ceviche was even better with sweet potatoes. I do wish they would put more of the sweet potatoes. The flavor really explodes in your mouth. The service was awesome! Very efficient and friendly. The ambiance was ok. The bathroom needs paper towels as the door is locked by a knob so I would really need a paper towel to open and lock the door. They have the hand dryer but I prefer disposable towels. Presentation was amazing. Customer service was decent, and the dish was also okay. The main issue I had with the breaded steak was the that the meet was incredibly gamey and chewy. There was white stringy stuff in the meat that made it impossible for me to completely cut through with the steak knife. I didn't even get through half of it because I gave up. The tallarin noodles and the fresh parmesan save this review from being a two. I'd love to come back and give this place another shot possibly with the lomo saltado. Mica's never fails to impress. The food is always hot and fresh and I used to doordash Mica's all the time over COVID, but it's so different dining in. When you dine in the dinner size for the Chaufa de Carne is huge. They give you like twice the amount and it always hits. You have to make sure you drench your food in their Aji cause it's so addicting. The service is always respectful and always checking up which is nice. The place was heavily decorated in Peruvian Pride and a lot of light pours into the restaurant during the day which is nice. GO HERE!!!! read more

After looking over the menu decided to go with the 1/2 rotisserie chicken and two sides , so I ask for the rice and beans and a side of plantains , the waitress tells me they have no beans WTH!? And no plantains !?! Whoa!! I was really disappointed!!! We got complementary bread and butter and the greenish sauce that at Peruvian restaurants is usually really good , this one was just ok . Not too spicy like others . So had to go with the rice and salad , salad dressing was limited , it came with ranch . The chicken was pretty good . We also ordered the ceviche, this was the best of the meal! The taste the tenderness of the fish , the lime juice and spices , so much flavor !! It was really really good . My previous post was removed, and I have to share this so everyone knows about the roaches. This restaurant has roaches! We notified management and they were passive about the situation, and mentioned the roaches from outside. They were German roaches not the large ones. There were multiple roaches. Located in the same plaza further to the left of Haven Market off Haven Ave. enough parking available. The restaurant is nestled in the corner to the right. My family had been here before, but this was my first time here. Waking in, you wait to be seated. The place was crowded for dinner but we didn't wait too long. The server was friendly and spoke to us in Spanish but he did switch up when we answered in English. He served us water with a pitcher left at the table and brought some dinner rolls which was freshly baked and tasted pretty good. Three of us ordered the Lomo Saltado and my husband had the Arros con mariscos. Wow! That's all I can say because my mouth was filled with flavorful tender cooked beef with onions and tomatoes. I didn't care much for the fries and preferred the rice. I wished I could get the recipe because I would love to cook this at home. The ambiance was bustling.
