Today I tried another seafood boil place. My companions and I had strong feelings towards this restaurant. My friend got the Mad Trio consisting of the calamari sticks, cajun fries and plain "jumbo" wings, we use the term jumbo very loosely... The wings were child size, and you could only order plain or lemon pepper with the mad trio. The calamari sticks tasted like the freezer calamaris they have at Costco. The fries were lightly seasoned cajun that if you didn't know they were cajun fries you'd think they were just plain fries. I shared a family bucket with my other companion. I must say everything in that bag was overcooked. The sausage was inedible, the shrimp tasted reminiscent of a freezer, the corn was okay. The sauce was actually the highlight of the meal, though it wasn't good enough to save it. Unfortunately save your coins and head over to a more refined seafood boil. Called ahead and asked if they do reservations and they said no. Once I was in the store they asked if we have a reservation. ? Threw me off Waited 15 minutes after being sat to be seen by a server. Waited about 25 minutes for food We ordered cajun fries but I didn't get a lick of Cajun. The server brought us out another but after I had to ask another person for the server to come out. We ordered another pound of shrimp after our food came out but it took so long, we ended up cancelling it. The server was kind of MIA most of the time honestly. Besides that the seafood was really good Veera, I think that's her name, was the only employee I saw consistently helping out everywhere. And she's not a server. Props to her. We had such a great experience at The Mad Claw! We ordered the Snow Crab Family Bucket, which came lwith crab, shrimp, crawfish, mussels, corn, potatoes, and sausage. Everything tasted fresh and was cooked perfectly. The crab was sweet, and their spicy garlic sauce was incredible. They definitely don't skimp on the sauce either. The garlic noodles with shrimp were one of the biggest standouts for me. I honestly could not stop eating them. We also tried the loaded garlic fries, pickle bombs, and mac and cheese bites. As someone who loves pickles, the pickle bombs were so good and reminded me of a pickle version of a jalapeño popper. The mac and cheese bites were also perfect for the kids. We had a reservation 8/13 @ 6:30pm for a party of 20 and when we arrived there was another large party finishing their meal and another large party that was seated right before us. There were only TWO guys on the floor (the stars are for them ONLY). They held it together as best a they could, but it just wasn't enough manpower for the amount of guests they had (it was very busy) on top of online/phone orders (those should've been paused IMO). We didn't eat until 8pm and the food unfortunately was not acceptable, with the exception of the fried pickles and green beans. I really wanted to enjoy my visit. I swear you could see flames shooting out of his ears. It was so hot he had to steal my rice just to cool it down. Meanwhile, I was over here playing it smart with the medium peeled shrimp. I love this place, the shrimps are a great sauce, the sauce is delicious and the price I think is fair! Brought my family in and we had the garlic noodles and chicken wings in addition to a pound a of shrimp. It was delicious. Service was great, we had the same waitress and she made sure we also had refills and didn't rush us. The place is spacious with lots of room and decorations and TVs. This place is soooooo delicious! I came here on a weekday and weekend and I was assisted right away. Staff are extremely attentive and super kind. The environment is clean and aesthetic to fit the seafood boil style. I always get the peeled shrimp with potatoes and corn full house and I've tried both hot and medium- just a heads up they are . I as a spice lover thought medium was good for me. The Cajun fries are also so good and always fresh. For drinks, the fish bowl is a HIT and the miches are sooooo fire.
