Walked In on a busy Sunday night. Got a table for my group of 6. Service was good. Everyone loved what they ordered and I don't think anyone had any leftovers. I would visit again next time I am in the area.

My husband and I stopped by this place on a whim because it smelled so good and the food looked amazing as we passed by on the street. We ordered the queso as an appetizer. It came in a mini cast iron skillet, and almost tasted like beer cheese instead of traditional queso, but it was amazing! The chips seem like they're probably made in-house as well. I ordered the fried Baja tacos and was very impressed! The batter was perfect, but the chipotle sauce was the star of the show! My husband got the burrito and told me he enjoyed it as well! There was a sign at the door saying it was the top rated Mexican restaurant in Mt Prospect and I can understand why! It is a small restaurant, but we were still able to get in on a Friday evening in about 10 minutes. It's very colorful and fun inside, and the service was great. Highly recommend stopping by here if you're in the area!

Mia's is a small but cute Mexican restaurant in Mount Prospect. It has a curbside patio which is where we dined. This is my second trip here and both times I got variations on the skirt steak which is really good. I chose the TAMPIQUENA this time around. This is a cilantro marinated skirt steak served with a cheese enchilada, and covered in mole sauce, black beans, guacamole, grilled onions, and grilled jalapenos. I found the mole to be quite good and the steak was juicy and cooked perfectly. The service was also good, and I will be back to try other dishes. I'd say my only real complaint was the fact that they didn't have a paper menu. It's a scan only menu, and although it's not a problem for me, my girlfriend's phone always has problems with these so we were sharing my phone a bit to decide. I also thought what if someone didn't have a phone or maybe is elderly and didn't know how to work it or have the app? I think that's a little bit of a hassle. I'd also say the salsa is quite bland. I asked the server to bring me something with some more kick - which she did - but I don't think it was salsa. It was more like hot sauce. The chips were very good, but it's time to pair it up with a 5 star salsa. So, barring the menu issue and the salsa, everything else was superb. Good margaritas and very tasty food at Mia's, go check them out!

Mia's Cantina is a family owned restaurant that's loved in the downtown Mt Prospect area!! I had it for my first time yesterday and it did not disappoint. I got the carne asada which came with pico, plantains, and some lettuce. It was definitely tasty but a little too pink/bloody for my tasting. My friends got the mahi mahi tacos and the chicken and steak fajitas, which were all super yummy! We all got frozen margaritas, too, which were easily a 10/10. The only reason I docked a star is the size and wait for the restaurant - they should totally think about expanding the restaurant or moving to a bigger location. They have the customers, just not the space. They also don't take reservations, so for a table of 4 on a Friday night we waited around 35 minutes to be sat. The servers were all so nice and personable, it just took a while for us to get our food. They have a lot of to-go orders, as well. Overall I'd definitely recommend this restaurant and I will be back!

Simple, yet excellent! If you're looking for a step up in your casual Mexican craving, come to Mia's. The chips are fresh and the salsa is good when in house dining. We started our meal with the granadita cocktail - not too sweet and refreshing. My boyfriend ordered the steak burrito dinner. Burrito had a healthy portion of meat which made him happy. He just wished it came with sour cream. Very good otherwise! I had their taco Tuesday special (minimum of 3 tacos). All tacos are double tortilla which I love. I ordered the camaron (shrimp), nortenos (steak with pico), and Baja. The nortenos was my favorite one! It's a step up from just a casual steak taco, but better! I would recommend and return here for business, thank you for a simple, yet delicious dinner!

ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!!!! Drinks and food!!!!! Loved every bite! I've never had sweet plantains at a Mexican restaurant, such an enhancement! Can't wait to come back! My husband and I sat outside on a beautiful sunny Friday afternoon, music was on point! Everything was just perfect! We loved the Flaka Margarita and Mojito! My chicken mole was excelled and my husband's steak burrito had to be one of the best since moving to the suburb's!!! Can't wait to return for another afternoon delight!

We enjoyed ourselves. This was the first time we have visited. We wanted to try something new that was close. The inside dining was nicer than I had expected from the photos posted on here. They have QR codes for the menu's. The service was good. We had a gentleman and he was very quick and attentive to us. I got a Steak Burrito Suizo. It was very good, they forgot that I asked for extra rice instead of beans but promptly brought it right out with no questions. My guest got the vegetarian tacos. We both enjoyed our meals. We shared an order of quac, plenty for both of us with extra for our meals. The cantina salsa was also my favorite kind especially with the fresh salted chips. We enjoyed ourselves!

    "fresh" guac

This is what "fresh" carry out guacamole is. $17.00 for chips, salsa, and guacamole. Makes me wonder what their other "fresh" food is like.

We reserved to be at the Chef's counter which was not ready at the time of our reservation, that was no problem for us - and the hosts offered us a different table if we wanted it, but we did want to eat at the counter so we wanted to wait. We looked at the menu and decided while we wait we would go grab a drink at the bar. There were no open chairs at the bar and people were standing around the area as well so my girlfriend walked over to the side of the bar to order drinks near the spot where servers will pick up drinks at the bar counter. My gf was not in the way or anything and the bartender points at her in disgust and says "you cannot stand there you need to move". Not one moment of this did he look friendly or happy to serve a customer. My gf stood there for another 5 minutes, neither of the 2 bartenders acknowledged her, or said they would be right with her, they even took an empty glass of a customer at the bar and asked them if they wanted another. Both my gf and I have held jobs involving customer service. I have worked in restaurants for many years of my life when I was a younger adult. We are reasonable and patient people. The Prospect claims to be classy and fine dining, which I will say, the ambiance is wonderful, but your customer service sucks. I'm a big believer in "you get what you pay for" and this does not match. I hope you treat other customers with more care in the future.

We were able to snag a back table so not loud and we can hear the whole table. We started with the Hearts of Palm salad to share. I thought it was delicious and it reheated very nicely the next day. Others at the table - got the salmon, sausage pizza and spicy vodka pasta. Everyone enjoyed. Our server (AJ) was fabulous and joked with the table - he made the experience enjoyable as well as the atmosphere of the restaurant. The hostess appeared wearing a blue-and-white striped sweater hanging off one shoulder like she'd stepped out of an Italian perfume commercial. Around her neck was one of those little cornicello pepper necklaces, dangling just enough to suggest fate had finally decided to throw me a bone. Blue eyes. Not "blue." The kind of blue sailors used to abandon families over. She laughed at one of my jokes. That was all the encouragement my diseased brain required. I immediately conducted a full tactical assessment of the restaurant. The P.O.A. Index... ...was approaching DEFCON 1. Every direction I looked was another devastatingly attractive waitress carrying Aperol Spritzes with effortless confidence. It was like wandering into a government-funded supermodel relocation program. Then... A shadow fell across the table. A man. Our waiter was a man. Christ Almighty. The emotional whiplash nearly snapped my neck. It's like going to the zoo hoping to see lions and discovering the enclosure has been replaced with an accountant named Kevin. There are beautiful women everywhere, and somehow I'm discussing pasta recommendations with a guy who probably knows three different olive oils by taste. Cruel. Absolutely cruel. To his credit, the b@5tard was outstanding. Friendly. Fast. Knew the menu inside and out. Kept the drinks full. Never interrupted. The s.o.b. gave me absolutely nothing to complain about, which only deepened my resentment. The food, meanwhile, was infuriatingly good. The pizzas arrived looking like they'd been blessed by an Italian grandmother carrying unresolved anger from 1947. Thin crust. Fresh mozzarella. Just enough char to remind you that ovens are supposed to flirt with fire, not electricity. The pasta had that unmistakable handmade texture that makes Olive Garden feel like a felony. The cocktails disappeared with alarming speed. By my third Negroni, I was convinced I could hear Dean Martin narrating my life. Walking out, I glanced back toward the hostess one last time. She smiled. For approximately three seconds I considered abandoning my entire life to become a part-time sommelier with absolutely no qualifications. Then reality returned. The male waiter handed me the check. Four stars. The food was phenomenal. The cocktails were dangerous. The hostess should be classified as an Italian national treasure. And our waiter deserves a raise... despite committing the unforgivable crime of existing between me and the waitresses.

We made a reservation because I'd heard this place can get pretty busy. Although it didn't seem too crowded when we first arrived on a Saturday, it filled up quickly throughout our meal. I definitely recommend making a reservation, especially if you're planning to come for dinner. As soon as we walked in, I was struck by how beautiful the restaurant is. Since the building was once a church, they preserved the stained-glass windows and cathedral ceilings, which give the space so much character. We ended up sitting on the patio because it was a gorgeous day, but I definitely want to come back and dine inside so I can fully appreciate the interior. The patio was modern, spacious, and completely shaded, making it very comfortable. Since it's located right next to the little lake, we also enjoyed a nice breeze throughout our meal. Our waitress was friendly and attentive overall, but there was one moment that stood out. My friend's baby accidentally knocked over a full glass of iced coffee, spilling it all over my friend's lap and onto the floor. The waitress watched as my friend cleaned up the mess herself but didn't offer to help or replace the spilled drink. Aside from that, the service was good. My friends and I all ordered something different, and everyone enjoyed their meals. I had the salmon poke bowl ($19), which was fresh, flavorful, and incredibly refreshing. The ingredients tasted high quality, and all the flavors worked really well together. It was more filling than I was expecting! Price-wise, I expected the menu to be more expensive than it actually was. I'm sure dinner prices are higher, especially for steak and seafood, but the brunch menu was quite reasonable. Most breakfast and brunch dishes range from $12-$20, making it a great value for both the quality of the food and the beautiful atmosphere. Overall, we all enjoyed our experience and I'll for sure be back! I'd love to try other menu items and come for dinner, too!

There were 7 tables occupied, including us.  The music that they had was not too loud, just that customers' conversations were amplified by the box shape open dining area.  If we focused enough, we could hear every conversation if we wanted to.  This was obvious when a table of about 6 women got seated at a table near the front door, some of them laughed and talked very loudly.  My husband and I just found it funny and didn't let that bother us.  However, when the restaurant is filled on busier days, it might be a different story. Our server, Patrick, was very nice and attentive.  Since they did not list drinks on their menu except those with alcohol, I asked him about non-alcoholic drinks.  After a brief "discussion", he asked me to leave it to him to make me a drink with mango.  He came up with a beautiful drink that was good and refreshing, with some mango flavor.  It was Virgin Paloma on our receipt for $8, which was reasonable.  He was very polite and checked in on us several times at appropriate times during our dinner.  The pace of the dinner was good, we spent a total of an hour and 15 minutes in the restaurant. Patrick might be the only waiter serving all the tables that evening, though. I also ordered Grilled Octopus ($22) which was very good, tender and flavorful, but was a little too salty to my taste.  The small pita bread wedges were warm and fluffy with some crispy edges, the beet hummus was creamy, and everything was delicious and tasted fresh.  I generously shared 2 little bites of octopus with my husband and I finished the entire plate, it was so good!  My husband really liked his Spiked White Fish ($29) and I shared a bite of that too.  He also had a House Salad for $6, that was a very good value.  He enjoyed a glass of Sauvignon Blanc Crossing ($12) too.  We also shared an order of Crème Brulee ($8), that was creamy and cooked perfectly.  We ordered a takeout order of Rigatoni with Sausage ($23), that was a good portion, and was still delicious and al dente the next day after being microwaved. I am so happy that we found Social Inn - a hidden gem in Plaza del Prado, it's not far from home, with comfortable and beautiful ambiance, excellent service (from Patrick), an attractive menu with enticing food (fresh ingredients and appealing plating), and reasonable prices, we will definitely be back!

It's been a while since I went to Social Inn. They used to be open for lunch as well as dinner, and…read morethat was easier for me to get to. We were in the area late in the day and remembered Social Inn was open, so we went. We ordered a variety of items. I had the Social Burger (at least 1/2 pound), we also ordered their chicken dinner salad and the beet hummus. Everything was delicious. I did order my burger medium and it was delivered well done, but it was still good. They also have one of the best gluten-free buns I've ever had. I do wish they were open at lunch time still, but I understand they need to be open for their busiest hours. Social Inn is a great option when you are in the Glenview area.
