Been wanting to try this for awhile. I ate a lot of Viet/Korean food when I lived in Los Angeles. The owner is awesome and the rest of the staff are extremely polite. Love this place!!! Very good, very authentic. I love the shrimp papaya salad, all the curries are outstanding. The owner is so friendly, even sang for us one day when the music went down and we told him he could just sing!! Only down side is that the wait can be a little long when they are slammed, but that is because everything is made fresh when you order. So, be patient or call ahead. read more

It was good. I'm an experienced diner . I think it was over rated. I had the London Broil Pho. Nothing addictive. Just good.

Tonight was the first of many visits to come. Yummy entrees included Shrimp with Green Papaya Salad and Shredded Chicken. Freshest of ingredients (noticed the basil growing out front as we left) and great blend of classic vietnamese spices and satisfying proportions. We chose to eat our meal in house and enjoyed every bite. Looks as if they have many happy take out customers and I can see why. It reminds me of the little restaurants you find in New York city and wish you had in your neighborhood. With Mi Xao, people who live in Mt Pleasant or on the Isle of Palms or Sullivan's Island are lucky to have this simple little gem. read more

I had pho ga and it was so salty it was inedible. The bean sprouts were brown and seemed old; frankly I was afraid to eat them. I am accustomed to having a substantial amount of mint, cilantro and basil served with my pho but Mi Xao serves a paltry tablespoon but at least it was fresh! There were no onions and the chicken was dry and flavorless. I also had summer rolls that were fairly tasty but only had 1 small piece of shrimp in 2 rolls. The peanut sauce served with the summer rolls was the best part of the meal. My first meal at Mi Xao was so overwhelming bad I don't think I will return which is a shame because Vietnamese food in this area would be such a treat. read more

This has quickly become my favorite place in town! Been several times and have never been disappointed. I Have only ever done take out and let me tell you their catch phrase "Wok in, Wok out" is not only funny & original but it's also very accurate!!! Jimmy Johns "freaky fast" has nothing on Mi Xao!!! By the time I am attempting to "check in" on my Facebook they are bringing me my order! We have pretty much stuck to the Summer Rolls (oh my and that peanut dipping sauce!) and the London Broil & Chicken Pho. It's just such a flavorful and soothing meal. So many fresh flavors, a party in my mouth! While I love the Pho any day of the week it has also become my "go to" place when I'm feeling under the weather too. Grab my meds at CVS and get my pho then home to eat in bed!! If sore throats & sinuses are your issues like me the broth soothes and the fresh herbs and jalapeño open up those sinuses!!! I'm am such a fan of this place, clean, affordable, fast and always smiling faces. If you haven't tried it yet run and get you some PHO sho! my hubby and i came here for our vietnamese food fix. we both got the london broil pho. the meat was really delicious and so was the broth. not sure why they serve us cilantro as a side topping versus more basil leaves. my hubby also got steamed dumplings which were also good. although it is a vietnamese restaurant, many around us were eating pad thais =). read more

This is my entire families favorite restaurant in Mt Pleasant and they each have their own favorite dish. I come here at least once a week and I've never been let down. Everything is amazing but my favorite is the cocos salad and their fried rice is the best. It's fresh and not too oily like other places. They also do banh mi sandwiches every Thursday and they are the best I've ever had. We always get great service and the owner is the nicest guy you'll ever meet. This is my favorite pho if I don't feel like driving down town to CO. I always get the pho bo (London broil pho), which is absolutely stellar. My husband and I always get a couple coconut waters to drink, as well. We've ordered their spring rolls and they're decent. We like the summer rolls much better. They also have a wide variety of options on the menu, in case you don't like pho (though if you don't like pho, I don't know about you). If you go, you have to try putting all of the toppings in your pho - basil, cilantro, lime, hoisin, sriracha, bean sprouts, and sliced jalapeno. I always add a ton of extra sriracha because I have a very spicy-loving palate. The staff is always kind and quick with your order. Overall, this is definitely a favorite of mine. read more

This restaurant is in a strip mall and is very tiny inside. I wish the ambiance was better, so we decided to eat at one of the few picnic style tables outside. We had the Cha gio (crunchy rolls), the Spring rolls (wrapped in rice paper) and the pork green coconut curry. The Cha gio strangely did not come with lettuce wraps, but when we asked for lettuce, they happily gave us some. The nuoc cham (fish/lime dipping sauce) that came with the Cha gio was too sweet for my taste, but overall had a good flavor. The Spring rolls were fresh and tasty with bright flavors like cilantro. The pork green curry had a nice spice to it and baby corn, broccoli and onions in it. I suppose there is not enough demand for "Vietnamese" food, since the menu also include Thai offerings, such as Pad Thai. If I lived in this area, I would say this is a DEFINITE for take out dinner. read more
