My favorite Latin place to eat. There usually is a line to be seated on Sunday's but I don't even care about the wait. The place is so worth it. They prices are more than great for the amount of food! I love everything on the menu. You literally leave so full. They have columbian sodas which are the best. Amazing Columbian food. I had a typical Spanish plate steak rice and beans that was out this world with some fried yellow plantains and some avocado on the side. Food was excellent and kept me full till late night. I absolutely love the staff made our dinner very enjoyable was once of the nicest waitress I had ever had. I stop here during lunch last Thursday. I've been wanting Colombian food for a while now and found this on Yelp. I must say the moment I walked in I was greeted nicely but the reason I'm giving this a 3 star and not 4 is because the unfriendly waitress. I was a party of one I ordered the Sangria she ask for ID which is her part of her job I understood then rolled her eyes as she gives me back my ID. I went on to order and not once did she come by and ask how's the food is everything ok ? I was a waitress before I thought that's what they're supposed to do. Instead she had other tables near went on to ask them if everything was ok and skipped me. The bus boy (who I tipped nicely) ended up coming to me and ask if everything was ok, wrap up my food and got me the check ( the waitress still never came by) I'm not sure if it's because she was 8 months pregnant or what but she seemed nice to all her tables but me. Now on to the food I ordered the special rice, bean sauce, pork skin, steak, eggs & avocado everything was good except for the steak it was over cooked and had no flavor. The sangria was delicious ! I would go back but because of the service I received I'm hesitant to try this place again. read more

I've never had Colombian food before but this was great! I thoroughly enjoyed my entire meal. I had the skirt steak and chicken. I forgot what it was called but for the price i paid, it was amazing! I went because I was in the mood for some good chicken. For just 10 bucks I got so much food for dinner! Rice, beans, simple salad, french fries, aaahmazing soup, but the chicken was a HUGE dissapointment. It was dry and tasteless.I didnt have the heart to tell my waiter. Service was courteous and fast. Three stars because the empanadas were okay and that's all I ate from there. Their customer service is horrible though. It's clear the ONE girl at the front is overwhelmed by phone calls & people coming in. It took around 25 minutes for me to get the empanadas. The ambience of the restaurant is family like which is good. The food was ok. The carne asada (steak) really had no flavor and was chewy. The hot sauce they had on the table and the blanca arepa was delicious. What I found disappointing they only had flan for dessert? in a Colombian restaurant??? maybe cause it was 4pm but still at least have some Cake or something. My family and I have been coming here for 10+ years, since we live 5 minutes from here. This used to be our go-to restaurant. In the most recent years, I must point out the quality of the food and service has gone down drastically. The food isn't as tasty as it used to and god forbid you ask for extra lemon or chimichurri! The staff isn't friendly and they don't really understand English. This little restaurant has a dish called the bandeja tipica, it comes with steak, pork, sweet plantain, avocado, rice and beans and it's delicious! They also have a dish I used to order when I wanted to stay away from steak and it was their salmon, they season it so well it was filling. What's with everyone and the neighborhood bashing??? The place is in a safe neighborhood with ample parking right on the side of the building across a small side street just yards away from the front door. The lovely working class people mind their own business and don't even notice you. I have lived in Hempstead for the past 25 years and although it has it's negative aspects like many other places it's just another working class neighborhood. Oh and as for the restaurant, it's really good, the fried yucca is awesome, rotisserie chicken is yummy, and the table sauce is to die for just can't get enough of the stuff. read more

Very good Colombian option if you are in the area and too far from Flushing/Jackson Heights. It is very hard to find sancocho on Saturday and Sunday evenings as it is usually sold out after the lunchtime rush. Not only did they have sancocho, they had 4 different kinds! Beef, Hen, Fish, and Tripe. The boyfriend had "lengua" which he commented was very good (cleaned his plate). Great proportion (I had enough for lunch for the next 2 days) and great price. We did not have any drinks but the sangria looked really good as well! Open till 10-11 PM Sunday-Saturday. I will definitely come back! read more

This has been one of the "go-to" spots for my family and I. The food is delicious, their order of rotisserie chicken is delicious. It comes with chicken soup as an appetizer and for the entree they serve you a decently size plate of rice and beans(their beans are amazing!) and on a separate plate you get small portion of salad, some french fries, and half a chicken.Oh! and then I mention the best part? all of this for under $13. This is a great restaurant with great food. I have nothing to complain about. The food is delicious and the servers are quick. I suggest the Maracuya Juice when you go there. I have seen many complain about the neighborhood. indeed, If this restaurant was in much cleaner and better neighborhood, It would definitely be more attractive, but the reality is when once you inside, you have a feeling that you are no longer in the US, but some spanish spaking country.
