I ordered food online from Mi Ranchito. Their online orders go through Menufy. Ordered at 5:15 PM and was given an ETA of 6:45-7:05. Tried calling Mi Ranchito about 6:30 to see how it was going with Cinco de Mayo & all but they were not answering their phone. So drove on over. Got there right at 6:45. Found a crowd of 30-ish people in the patio area to pick up on line orders and another 30-40 cars in the drive thru line. I determined that there were those in the online order pick-up area who had been waiting for their food for over an hour - so I got an immediate indication that things might not be going well? Well, long story short - stayed there until 9 PM and never got my order. The staging table for the online orders had easily 30 bags of food for people who had given up waiting and left. No one could say if our order was actually in their queue or how much longer it might take. In short zero communication or seemingly concern about the situation Mi Ranchito was allowing to happen. They seemed totally over-matched and with no plan to do anything positive about it. There did not seem to be anyone connected with the establishment who expressed any concern or apology at all. This was easily one of the most unplanned and inadequately managed situations I have ever encountered in my 70 years on this earth. They should be totally embarrassed and apologizing to one and all endlessly. Not a way to run a business. Not sure I will ever go back. read more

Deep fried tacos? Yes!!!! These are hard to find and I love them. This place is small and usually very bustling. I typically order carry out and they're so friendly and fast! You can wait on a stool at the register and they even bring you chips while you wait for your order. Again, they are exceedingly friendly, clean and the food is quite good. read more

Went in tonight, the host ( young kid ) told us a 10 minute wait we sat down waited. Another family came in got sat immediately, and when my husband asked the kid, he " forgot " we had been waiting. This is the worst location in the chain. We like the others and would recommend them. However, the Harrison in Olathe location has horrible service. They get the orders wrong, we wait forever and a day for the waitstaff to come and refill chips and drinks. Today, was our last visit. I think I've been to most, if not all, of Mi Ranchito's locations in the area. This one is my least favorite, which is unfortunate because it's the closest to my house. My wife loves going here, so it's usually with some reluctance that I say "yes" to eating here. The reason is not the food. The food is good, portion sizes are large, it always comes out piping hot, and the menu has just about anything you might want. The location and ambiance is what I don't like. There are two entrance/exit doors on either side of the restaurant, which means in the winter time this place is cold. I think the building used to be a Pizza Hut or something because it's shaped that way, and the inside is a lot smaller than what you would expect from a sit-down family restaurant. This makes it extremely loud in here during most busy times. Loud to the point where my ears have actually felt like someone was standing next to me and screaming into it. So after a long day at work, the only thing I can do while out at dinner with my wife is to either throw up my favorite gang signs with my hand, communicate through text messaging with her from across the table, play footsie, wink, or just eat in silence. Talking is out of the question -- even though we're inches apart. Loud! It's like eating in a mess hall. This place badly needs some carpet or sound absorbers. read more

This place is amazing... The food is authentic and we've always had great service. Prices are also very reasonable.. I've never been a fan on the big chain restaurants like Chi-Chi's etc. so it's nice to find a local restaurant that serves great food at affordable prices... I get take out from here regularly and have never been disappointed. Everything I have tried has been good. I especially like the espinacha dip and the jalisco chimichanga. I don't know about eating in as I have never done it, but for take out the service has always been fast and the food delicious. read more

This place has pretty good Mexican food. I recommend the pollo del marr. Once or twice a week my husband and I order carry out from here and it is a total midweek pick me up. The quality of the carry out is just as good as eating inside. They only messed up my order once but the manger joe took care of everything, gave me a credit no questions asked and was very courteous. I would definitely recommend this place. read more

We ate at mi ranchito today and service for one was horrible! If you can't remember the order than write it down! We ordered drinks and I asked for no lemon in my tea, which of course arrived with lemon. We ordered and I specifically said no lettuce and it arrived with lettuce so the waitress took it back I thought to remake it but to my surprise they literally picked the lettuce off! They left some so I went to the manager and he asked if I wanted it remade, well ya! By the time I got my food my group had already eaten. I hadn't even had 2 bites when the waitress brought the bill and asked if we wanted to go boxes and drinks to go. I looked at the bill and no discount. I asked the manager and he said well I remade the food. Ya after the cooks took their fingers through my food to pick out the lettuce! He refused to give any discount, not even remove a drink! We won't be going back if you think you can treat your customers this way!!! I've eaten at this restaurant since they first opened and it's sad to see how they treat loyal customers! This is for the location off Old 56 Highway in Olathe only.  Have not had the same poor experience at other locations.  Expressed frustration up to the Manager and have never been treated so horribly by someone in charge.  She wouldn't listen, she wouldn't accept responsibility and kept saying it was our fault.  Was trying to have a little dinner for 9 people after a very long and emotional day.  We picked up the order and they only gave us 1/2.  When I called and asked for the rest to be delivered, she said they don't which we know is not true.  I said well I guess I'll have to come back to get the rest and when we got there they didn't have it and said we'd have to go back online and order again.  Everything about the treatment from their staff was terrible and we'll never go back again.  Original order through 3rd party online and voiced our frustrations to them, asking to speak to someone higher than the manager and they said they would convey our situation.  Never heard from anyone.  We were not asking for something for nothing but wanted what we paid for.  We finally got a refund but only by going back through 3rd party online.  Surprisingly how they spout their service on their site, still makes me just shake my head. read more

Love this place! Staff is always friendly. You can sit at the bar, in a booth or table or in their glass enclosed patio area. All their food is fantastic! My favorites are the Chicken Neuvo Burrito and the Shrimp Enchiladas. They have daily specials as well. They start you off with chips and salsa. Make sure you order the Espinaca Cheese Dip (white cheese, onions, spinach and tomatoes) which is excellent. You can frequently find a coupon for this free. Your meal is served on a hot plate and comes pretty quickly. They provide free soft drink refills and a to go cup if requested. My go to restaurant for Mexican!!! read more

Mi Ranchito was a pleasant overall experience. As you can see from the name, it is an authentic Mexican restaurant (even sang Happy Birthdays in Spanish!). They give three types of dips for the chips, which were so good I probably didn't save enough space for the sampler entree I got. I took the rest home, and I had no problem with that. They are currently renovating the place so it was a bit cramped, but overall I thought it was a great restaurant and I will definitely go back the next time I crave Mexican food! read more

We have been here tons of times. The past 3 times though it has been terrible. The service has been really bad ever since they expanded the building. Takes forever to get the food and the new servers that they have added are slow.... Takes FOREVER to get the food, and then when it comes finally it is terribly disappointing. No manager provides any explanation as to why it takes so long. No more Mi Ranchito for us. At least not at this location. read more

I dined in Mi Ranchito about a week ago and the service was HORRIBLE. The food was amazing! I checked my bank account a few days later and they charged an extra $10 on my card! I called to have it resolved and they said it would be back into my account after 3 days and it's still not there! Mi Ranchito stole my money! read more

This is BY FAR the best Mexican restaurant in Olathe, I prefer this one to the others. First; they have a small space, but they are changing to a much bigger restaurant right beside the building this month. So, now that is out of the way.. Employees: There are a few we always see, Maria and Jenny, they are very nice and very helpful, when my mother was sick they'd ask every day I went there 'How's your mommy?' It was sweet and kind, it made the place feel like home. And, ever since she got better, they always ask if she is okay and how she is today. NOT many people go that far out of their way! Food: Very good, I know that they are popular on the cream cheese enchilada, I prefer the Bravo Burrito, Steak and Shrimp with espinaca = WIN The ONLY downside I have had, if it has onions you get the whole damn onion not even joking! In truth we have had some problems, my end or theirs and they instantly fix it even when i say it isn't a big problem, they are kind, always welcome with a smile, the managers are genuine. I was a Jose Peppers fan before Mi Ranchito came around. I have eaten at this restaurant many times. I have eaten in and taken out food. I just spent over $55 on 4 meals and the employee in the window was beating me up about getting an extra sauce. She wanted to charge an extra $1.09 for the sauce. I have went through the window several times before without any issues. This is ridiculous, I can see if I wanted two or more, MAYBE. I guess I will be going back to Jose. read more

The new restaurant on Harrison street is more spacious. Same great food and now more room. The bar area is very nice and is a great place to hang out while you're waiting on a table. VERY dissappointed. I have always loved Mi Ranchito, but havent been to this location in a while. Im a single parent with 2 jobs (not a lot of time) and 2 kids that dont like mexican food. So they were gone this weekend, I just got off my part time job & decided to treat myself. I ordered steak fajitas & cheese dip. Got home, changed my clothes, turned the tv on, curled up on the couch with my dinner & found no tortillas in my dinner box. How do you eat fajitas with no tortillas??? I went a head & dived in because I was "starving" and found A TON of onions (dont get me wrong, I love steak & onions, but there were more onions than anything else), 1 thin green pepper ring & 1 thin red pepper ring. Amount of steak was ok. I called to let them know they left out the tortillas and all they said was "sorry...let us know next time your in & we wont charge you for your tortillas"...gee thanks read more

My wife, 1 year old and myself went here last night. About half way through my cream cheese chicken enchiladas I bit into something hard. It was a piece of wire in my enchiladas. It was probably from the wire brush they use to clean the grills. If I had swallowed that wire I probably would be in the hospital. They should be more careful. read more

We live not too fasr form the resturant and I frequently call in for take out (like in about 5 minutes). We just absolutely love the dishes as they are not your run of the mill menu for Tex/Mex. there are menu items that you may have never experienced - all well worth a try.
