We have always enjoyed coming here for dinner however the past two experiences we've had have been overshadowed by the overwhelming scent of their cleaning products. I'm pretty sure they are using Fabuloso to clean/sanitize, however, the scent is so strong that it detracts from the taste of the food and the ambiance. I won't be going back as I cannot stomach the scent while eating my dinner and inhaling this very strong cleanser. Hopefully this will change :( read more

It's always a good time when I come here. I do love the flower mound location way better than the grapevine location. Flower mounds cooks season the food very good! I decided to try the chicken and waffles for brunch. Man I almost lost my mind soon as I took a bite! They were soooo good. The waffle, the chicken, the bacon, and the syrup! I believe he said bourbon agave syrup or something lol idk wtf he said they were just so good I was distracted. I also tried the hibiscus champagne margarita! Ughhhh sooo freaking yummy. With the 7 tables not being operated, I feel like the service should of been better. I waited for my drinks,food and ticket a little too long... Excellent food and a very well-balanced menu. My wife had salmon with chimi sauce prepared in banana leaves - never seen that at a Mexican place. It was fantastic. I had the duck 2 ways which was also great. A surprise to me was the Mole coloradito. I've never been a fan of mole, and most places make it using regular chocolate. I verified with our waitress that Mi Dia uses dark, bitter Mexican chocolate and the result was one of the best mole's I've ever eaten! Tip: Ask for their green salsa, a little hotter but with much more flavor! This modern twist on a fusion restaurant is different than your typical Tex-Mex place. The style of the place is modern, providing an open and light filled interior with seating and bar. There is also great outdoor seating offered (less noisy than inside). The food menu has some unique items like Duck Carnitas tacos, quail, and enchiladas with sea bass and lobster sauce. The table side guacamole (see pics, made from fresh ingredients with mortar and pestle) comes with bacon if you like. Life changing. A bit pricey at $15 but you could almost eat it as a meal. Their tequila selection is also exceptional. They have some higher end tequila at affordable prices and they have flights. My only issue with this place is it gets crazy busy even at lunch, although they do offer their full menu at the bar as well, so that's always another option. They just get overwhelmed sometimes, so reservations are recommended. Suggest sampling the great specialty margarita menu - including nice variety of top shelf, higher end tequilas. Food was solid - very good to excellent. A variety of Tex-Mex, Mexican, and Central American fare. Plan on some familiar and some unusual menu offerings at Mi Dia. Good choice for business meal, happy hour after work, or casual family and friends gathering. Summary: We'll be back! My Yelp rating scale guidelines: 1 for atmosphere. Is it new and trendy? Does it fit with an ethnic motif? Is it upscale, is it a dive (in a good way). 1 for service. The ambience and service is phenomenal; the food-- not so much. I'm vegetarian so I understand my options are limited. The enchiladas and Huevos Rancheros lack flavor and are underwhelming. The selection of roasted veggies to include in their quesadilla appetizer are also questionable. For the price you pay, the quality of food, portion size, and flavor is simply not worth it. Mi Dia gets a solid 4. If you are looking for mid to higher end Mexican with a great atmosphere, this is the spot. I've been three times, and ordered both the Chicken and Steak Applewood Bacon fajitas and they are superb. -The table side chips and salsa are unlimited - the chips are great and the salsa is too spicy IMO but it's still very good. -The ceviche was good but not great, I'd skip it next time. -The seafood enchiladas were another item I would skip. Their seafood is not a strength in my opinion. -The Quail entree was very good and healthy if you are looking for something lighter. -The drinks were frustrating - the skinny margaritas had to be sent back because they were not skinny at all. My Casamigos tequila soda with a lime came out different each time, and then the last one was filled with actual lime juice which ruined the drink. If you find a dish worth coming back for you will be satisfied with Mia Dia. You can't go wrong with the fajitas. read more

My family and I decided to try this place for my son's birthday since it had a lot of good reviews. Unfortunately we did not have the same experience. None of us cared for the salsa that came out with the chips - it was literally all heat and no flavor. Just about everything that came out was dripping grease from the chips to the chimichangas - as if they were not drained properly before serving. I had asked for another side of the sauce that came with my street tacos and noticed I was charged an extra .75 but was not told there would be an extra charge. The food was just ok. I gave it 1 star because the one thing we could all agree on was how good the table side guac was. Only issue is for the price there wasn't a lot in the bowl so we all only got a taste wishing there was more. As for the service, our server didn't seem to be very knowledgeable about the menu or very attentive. Our drink orders were not taken properly and one had to be sent back and made over. The top-shelf margarita didn't taste top shelf at all but we didn't want to complain again about another drink so we just kept it. We had asked if we could get a sprite to go with no ice in a cup that we were will to pay for, however the server just brought out a can of sprite from the bar that we were charged $2.50 for. There were just too many attention to detail that were missed for us and the food was ok at best. The inside is not too bad, very beautiful but the layout is a bit awkward. When I needed to go to the restroom I had to wait for the incoming guests to take their seat before I could walk toward the restroom because it's very narrow. Either wait or walk behind the guests seated at the bar which is also a very narrow space. It's safe to say we won't be returning. First impressions are everything for us. read more

Tried this place for lunch. It was good. We ordered the chicken flautas and duck tacos. The server was really nice. I don't understand why they put spicy Queso on top of a bean and cheese burrito. I wish the waiter would have asked us if we wanted cheese on the inside of the burrito or Queso on the outside, when we ordered a bean and cheese burrito. My friend MM told me to try this a long time ago - and I could kick myself for not doing so sooner. We went in after Christmas break. The salsas are bomb and the queso is absolutely delicious. The cocktails are good but one or two should suffice... My hubby ordered an amazing tex-mex plate. Sour cream chicken enchilada, soft cheese taco, rice and refried. I always want something a little different. I settled on the duck tacos and enjoyed the restaurant appeal while we waited. It was lunch time and we didn't wait long. Holy frijoles! The duck tacos were AMAZING - they were like pulled duck breast meat and the house made onions on top with cilantro were fantastic! I had refried black beans and a delicious poblano rice to go with it. My hubby couldn't finish his meal and I ended up taking 2 duck tacos home with me. That good! I ate one for dinner and had the other for breakfast! Be sure to ask about the monthly drink special. This is a top notch Latin American restaurant. Super fresh available fish specials of the day. These guys are not afraid of flavor! They have amazing fresh fried to order chicharrones, only the 2nd place in DFW we've found them. Order them immediately to use as a tortilla chip substitute with the salsa. I'm not normally a salsa person, but theirs is amazing and delicious. They put the red with a dollop of green in the cup. The red is spicier than the green and so we ask for it swapped, green with a little bit of red. Service is always wonderful. The one negative for us is the only thing they have on tap is tequila. Since Covid Ive been ordering Delivery and Pick Up and have been quite happy. However, with the removal of entrees from their menu(Cochinita Pibil, Duck 2 Ways, Sea Bass) I will, unfortunately, not be returning to dine, as these items are what kept me returning. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is for the same complaints we have every time we come here. The flies! Doesn't matter if you sit inside or outside. I visited Mi Dia for the first time today for lunch with a friend. We were out for a birthday celebration. I got seated and got our drinks. They have a great lunch menu with lots of choices. My friend got a hatch chili margarita I think... we couldn't quite hear our waiter, but it was super spicy yet yummy!! Then we both got the lunch quesadillas. Delicious! And just the right amount of food. I loved how they mixed two different salsas. So good! The restaurant is super cute and a great patio! Highly recommend for a date or just a fun outing with friends. My only negative was our service. I'm 99 percent sure our waiter totally forgot about us. He never came around once to refill drinks or check on us and we had to flag him down to bring a check. What was lacking was the overall attitude of the employees we interacted with: from the hostess who seemed to be bothered we had shown up, to the server who offered only very mechanical engagement, non-friendly service, to the delay that occurred after being seated before anyone came to our table (about 5 minutes).
