It's always a good time when I come here. I do love the flower mound location way better than the grapevine location. Flower mounds cooks season the food very good! I decided to try the chicken and waffles for brunch. Man I almost lost my mind soon as I took a bite! They were soooo good. The waffle, the chicken, the bacon, and the syrup! I believe he said bourbon agave syrup or something lol idk wtf he said they were just so good I was distracted. I also tried the hibiscus champagne margarita! Ughhhh sooo freaking yummy. I love a drink that arrives sizzling! So much flavor and strong! Both well worth the $15 (each). I forgot how good their salsa is too! Spicy and the chips are perfection! Our waiters were also great. The food is always top notch, and if Gage or Caleb is your bartender you're in perfect hands! Love the patio when the weather is nice as well. Their blueberry tequila on tap is delicious as well as their house infused hatch chili tequila (try it in a Bloody Mary)-- you're welcome). The steak nacho starter is generous and delicious, THEIR chicken tortilla soup is my sick day comfort meal. We have always enjoyed coming here for dinner however the past two experiences we've had have been overshadowed by the overwhelming scent of their cleaning products. I'm pretty sure they are using Fabuloso to clean/sanitize, however, the scent is so strong that it detracts from the taste of the food and the ambiance. Excellent food and a very well-balanced menu. My wife had salmon with chimi sauce prepared in banana leaves - never seen that at a Mexican place. It was fantastic. I had the duck 2 ways which was also great. A surprise to me was the Mole coloradito. I've never been a fan of mole, and most places make it using regular chocolate. I verified with our waitress that Mi Dia uses dark, bitter Mexican chocolate and the result was one of the best mole's I've ever eaten! Tip: Ask for their green salsa, a little hotter but with much more flavor! This modern twist on a fusion restaurant is different than your typical Tex-Mex place. The style of the place is modern, providing an open and light filled interior with seating and bar. There is also great outdoor seating offered (less noisy than inside). The food menu has some unique items like Duck Carnitas tacos, quail, and enchiladas with sea bass and lobster sauce. The table side guacamole (see pics, made from fresh ingredients with mortar and pestle) comes with bacon if you like. Life changing. A bit pricey at $15 but you could almost eat it as a meal. Their tequila selection is also exceptional. They have some higher end tequila at affordable prices and they have flights. My only issue with this place is it gets crazy busy even at lunch, although they do offer their full menu at the bar as well, so that's always another option. They just get overwhelmed sometimes, so reservations are recommended. Suggest sampling the great specialty margarita menu - including nice variety of top shelf, higher end tequilas. Food was solid - very good to excellent. A variety of Tex-Mex, Mexican, and Central American fare. Plan on some familiar and some unusual menu offerings at Mi Dia. Good choice for business meal, happy hour after work, or casual family and friends gathering. Summary: We'll be back! My Yelp rating scale guidelines: 1 for atmosphere. Is it new and trendy? Does it fit with an ethnic motif? Is it upscale, is it a dive (in a good way). 1 for service. You can have a great meal with poor service, but that also differentiates a five star from a lower rating. 2 for food, because that's what we're here for. How does it taste? Is it prepared as you ordered it? Does it have that extra "wow" factor? 1 for Will I come back again? Face it, if I'm not ever coming back, it won't earn a fifth star! read more

This place is an upscale Mexican restaurant. So if you're looking for a nice date night and wanting to dress up, this is the place. The decor has a very modern and chic style. The service was excellent, our waitress was in training and if she didn't mention anything I wouldn't have known. My family and I went for lunch and the food was great. It was a little pricy in my opinion but I loved the wood grilled salmon that I ordered. It had chayote pasta on top with a mango-lemon grass sauce. Mi Dia gets a solid 4. If you are looking for mid to higher end Mexican with a great atmosphere, this is the spot. I've been three times, and ordered both the Chicken and Steak Applewood Bacon fajitas and they are superb. -The table side chips and salsa are unlimited - the chips are great and the salsa is too spicy IMO but it's still very good. -The ceviche was good but not great, I'd skip it next time. -The seafood enchiladas were another item I would skip. Their seafood is not a strength in my opinion. -The Quail entree was very good and healthy if you are looking for something lighter. -The drinks were frustrating - the skinny margaritas had to be sent back because they were not skinny at all. My Casamigos tequila soda with a lime came out different each time, and then the last one was filled with actual lime juice which ruined the drink. If you find a dish worth coming back for you will be satisfied with Mia Dia. You can't go wrong with the fajitas. read more

Going with a majority with the four stars. I thought it was very pretty inside and the staff was all very friendly. With the 7 tables not being operated, I feel like the service should of been better. I waited for my drinks,food and ticket a little too long... My duck tacos were okay only because it lacked a true game shot duck flavor. Maybe people would prefer it to taste that way, but I don't! Beers are a good price and so are the $10 tiquila flights! Came in late and the bartender, Oliver, not only took care of us, but was so knowledgeable about the menu that, although a few drinks weren't available, he made sure he could make an alternative as close as possible. We took our daughter and hubby for lunch. No wait for Sat lunch. Nice but odd how empty it was....Gorgeous place. Very small intimate and great finishes throughout with one wall being a curved all window accent. Booth for 4 of us sat up higher than others next to us but was by kitchen door and very noisy. Kinda cramped for my style. See pic, table was really small and dishes were hanging off. Walkways were so narrow everyone had to turn sideways to get by each other. Maybe I was seated in wrong spot. Service was amazing. Server tried to keep up to diet cokes and H20 and did better than most. Ordered table side guac. Fun to watch him start with makings of a pico and then scooping avocado, lime and other into a large lava like bowl. It was nothing extra special in my opinion. Salsa is red with a slash of green. Cool looking but not spicy nor did it WOW us. I've had better but again tough because I like bold, forward in your face salsa. We prefer thin delicate chips. These weren't that but ok taste. Not warm and I like it fresh. Saturday they serve brunch menu with dinner menu only. No lunch menu. Prices go way up for lunch. I would be ok if food blew us away. Left not Wow'd. 2/5 I had shrimp and steak fajitas. $24 for 3-5 pieces of flank and 3 shrimp sounds expensive to me. Meat was ok...not great and shrimp was good and the best thing I tasted there. They prepare the guacamole fresh, tableside, so you can see them prepare the green goodness. They also let you select the spiciness. We went for a mild since there was a group of us and that was probably the easiest choice. I've been here a few times and every thing I've ordered has been good. What really stands out is the freshness of all their ingredients. It really stands out and keeps me coming back. As for service and ambiance, nothing pretentious. It's casual, but nice. My friend MM told me to try this a long time ago - and I could kick myself for not doing so sooner. We went in after Christmas break. The salsas are bomb and the queso is absolutely delicious. The cocktails are good but one or two should suffice... My hubby ordered an amazing tex-mex plate. Sour cream chicken enchilada, soft cheese taco, rice and refried. I always want something a little different. I settled on the duck tacos and enjoyed the restaurant appeal while we waited. It was lunch time and we didn't wait long. Holy frijoles! The duck tacos were AMAZING - they were like pulled duck breast meat and the house made onions on top with cilantro were fantastic! I had refried black beans and a delicious poblano rice to go with it. My hubby couldn't finish his meal and I ended up taking 2 duck tacos home with me. That good! I ate one for dinner and had the other for breakfast! Be sure to ask about the monthly drink special. I cannot wait to come back for brunch and get the table side guacamole - or maybe the Christmas burrito with that spicy New Mexican red chile sauce. What are you waiting for?! Go there, get some. My family and I decided to try this place for my son's birthday since it had a lot of good reviews. Unfortunately we did not have the same experience. None of us cared for the salsa that came out with the chips - it was literally all heat and no flavor. Just about everything that came out was dripping grease from the chips to the chimichangas - as if they were not drained properly before serving. I had asked for another side of the sauce that came with my street tacos and noticed I was charged an extra .75 but was not told there would be an extra charge. The food was just ok. I gave it 1 star because the one thing we could all agree on was how good the table side guac was. Only issue is for the price there wasn't a lot in the bowl so we all only got a taste wishing there was more. As for the service, our server didn't seem to be very knowledgeable about the menu or very attentive. Our drink orders were not taken properly and one had to be sent back and made over. The top-shelf margarita didn't taste top shelf at all but we didn't want to complain again about another drink so we just kept it. We had asked if we could get a sprite to go with no ice in a cup that we were will to pay for, however the server just brought out a can of sprite from the bar that we were charged $2.50 for. There were just too many attention to detail that were missed for us and the food was ok at best. The inside is not too bad, very beautiful but the layout is a bit awkward. When I needed to go to the restroom I had to wait for the incoming guests to take their seat before I could walk toward the restroom because it's very narrow. Either wait or walk behind the guests seated at the bar which is also a very narrow space. It's safe to say we won't be returning. First impressions are everything for us. read more

Ive been a patron of Mi Dia for a few years now (this location and the Grapevine location) and it has been one of my favorite places to dine. Since Covid Ive been ordering Delivery and Pick Up and have been quite happy. However, with the removal of entrees from their menu(Cochinita Pibil, Duck 2 Ways, Sea Bass) I will, unfortunately, not be returning to dine, as these items are what kept me returning. This is a top notch Latin American restaurant. Super fresh available fish specials of the day. These guys are not afraid of flavor! They have amazing fresh fried to order chicharrones, only the 2nd place in DFW we've found them. Order them immediately to use as a tortilla chip substitute with the salsa. I'm not normally a salsa person, but theirs is amazing and delicious. They put the red with a dollop of green in the cup. The red is spicier than the green and so we ask for it swapped, green with a little bit of red. Service is always wonderful. The one negative for us is the only thing they have on tap is tequila. Not even soda guns. Bottled beer and cans of sodas available, but we like domestic draft beer. read more

I visited Mi Dia for the first time today for lunch with a friend. We were out for a birthday celebration. I got seated and got our drinks. They have a great lunch menu with lots of choices. My friend got a hatch chili margarita I think... we couldn't quite hear our waiter, but it was super spicy yet yummy!! Then we both got the lunch quesadillas. Delicious! And just the right amount of food. I loved how they mixed two different salsas. So good! The restaurant is super cute and a great patio! Highly recommend for a date or just a fun outing with friends. My only negative was our service. I'm 99 percent sure our waiter totally forgot about us. He never came around once to refill drinks or check on us and we had to flag him down to bring a check. So that's my one star off... I still will come back and try again and just hope to get a different waiter! read more

I wish the waiter would have asked us if we wanted cheese on the inside of the burrito or Queso on the outside, when we ordered a bean and cheese burrito.
