The atmosphere was cozy and distinctive, with antlers on the walls and dark, moody lighting. We sat at the bar and had a great time. Prices were fair for the experience, too. She offered to make a chocolate martini I said ok that sounded good. My husband ordered a beer. Two minutes later. The waitress came back, and asked what we wanted to order. We were so confused . We ordered again acting like she didn't just take our order 2 minutes ago. I actually ended up changing my order and asked if they had a "house" pilot grigio. She said yes. She asked if we were going to order food and we said just drinks tonight. 5 minutes pass and she brings a large appetizer to our table. I said we didn't order this. She asked if we talked about it though . We said "no" we were never ordering food. I was so taken back by this experience I wanted to cash out after our drinks. I headed to the bar and asked for our bill. We were going to leave cash and leave because the whole situation was very uncomfortable. (Thinking 20 would be enough for the drinks and tip) We finally get the bill and the house wine is on there along with the beer. The total was $37 for 2 drinks. How can a house wine be $17 for a glass? As we left, the whole situation didnt sit right with me. I called later to ask how much a glass of house wine was and the person that answered stated $9.

The pop-up bar area itself is pretty small, but they have a huge heated tent with lots of seating right next to it.

There are ample options for small plates and appetizers. I ordered the Spaghetti ala Vodka. Overall - even if you are not a fan of wine, this restaurant should be on your list to frequent. I settled on a lemon blueberry martini and it was good. The food menu is very limited, but being that Italian is my favorite, I was a happy camper. 4 of us shared the arancini, which was not my favorite. I order this often when I am out and this one was dry and I didn't care for the prosciutto and cheese in the middle. For my entree, I settled on the spaghetti and meatballs which arrived steaming hot which I love. There were 3 huge meatballs which had a nice little spice to them. The sauce was good and the portion size was perfect. No room for dessert. Overall, a good evening

Having lived for decades in food mecca, San Francisco, combined with my husband's time in Marbella, we are spoiled when it comes to Spanish food and wines. When we did have a minor snafu, our sever, the effervescent, polite, and accommodating Reese, brought in his manager Jesse M. who remedied our situation beyond our expectations. He thinks he's funny calling out that it's still morning. Cafe notte has good specials and good food. The staff is consistently friendly. Live music was really relaxing and for once I can genuinely say it was at a good volume (I think I'm aging). The restaurant has recently been remodeled. Still, it has the star-lit ceiling in the bar and the women's bathroom has an odd step up. The patio is directly on 65 which can be a bit noisy. I would suggest to pick a day to come here when you would prefer to sit inside!

It seems like it's not attached to the baseboards in a bunch of locations and goes up & down a lot. The food was very disappointing - especially with the higher prices. The lobster bisque didn't seem to have any lobster and was way too salty. The Caesar salads were more like wedge salads. Way too many bread crumbs and you had to cut the lettuce yourself. Annoying and served on small plates, so also very messy. The beef Bolognese was not really beef Bolognese. There was no meat sauce. No sauce at all really. It was beef chunks you had to cut up and. Large chopped tomatoes in an oil or something. It was also way too salty. The pasta was fresh. That was about the only good thing. The design looks nicer, but the horrible flooring makes that not fully come through. The service was also terrible. The waitress bright five glasses of water for a party of 6. One of us was never allowed to order a drink. He tried a few times, then gave up and just drank water. The waiters also waited until we got our salads and soups before putting in our main dishes. So we waited a LONG time between our first course and second just because if her choice. I liked it before the TV show messed with it. Now, I'm okay with never returning. I'd rather pay less (or even more) for better food and service.

We were warmly greeted by Todd and Gina, the owners, who couldn't have been friendlier. Todd told us all about their wines, including the awards they've won, especially in California, and generously offered us the chance to try any of the wines at no cost. We started with the Gruner Veltliner, a bright, citrusy, and crisp wine. It was extremely dry compared to other Gruners we've had, which are usually more fruit-forward, but it was still quite enjoyable. Next, we tried the Riesling, which was also very good. My wife moved over to the semi-sweet side and tried the Traminette, which I eventually sampled after trying all the dry wines. We both really liked it. I then tried the Cabernet Franc, which was a medium-bodied wine with notes of raspberry, blueberry, and a light mocha oakiness--delicious! The Chambourcin was also quite good, without the typical bite or tartness. Lastly, the Flagship Red, a classic Bordeaux-style dry red, had a pleasant hint of pepper and was definitely a standout. Todd shared that they exclusively offer wines from Stony Run Vineyards in Breinigsville, PA, which has a wide selection. They're also planning to offer Old Fashioneds soon, as their winery includes a distillery, and they'll be featuring a "drink of the week" as well. What really sets this place apart, though, is Todd and Gina themselves. They're genuinely kind people who are dedicated to the community, and it was heartwarming to learn that they both served in the US Military--Todd in the Navy and Gina in the Air Force. We're already looking forward to our next visit when we're in the area again. Don't forget to thank them for their service when you stop by!

The restaurant is cozy and has a small variety of Latin American cuisine, with focus on Peruvian. Wine was not available that evening for some reason, so I went to a street vendor and purchased a 1/2 of an open bottle, and headed back to Torogoz. I decided to order the Lomo Saltado, which I hadn't had in Pittsburgh. The dish had tender well seasoned filet mignon plus skinny fries and couscous. It's a reflection of Chinese influence on Peruvian culinary . I really enjoyed it. Chef Julio stopped by to say which was lovely. We chatted a little bit about moving from California to Pittsburgh. Nice to hear that he settled in nicely with his family and is happy to call Pittsburgh home. Jenny, his wife, was also helping that evening. It was a pleasure speaking with them. I was surprised to receive a corkage fee of $15 without proper communication. I only brought an already uncorked half a bottle due to the BYOB circumstances, but they did remove it when I questioned it. I wish success to the business and hope that more people come to enjoy the Latin American flavors of Torogoz in Sewickley
