Less than 200 steps from W&IH's new visitor entrance is the entrance of
Mi Casa Tappas, formerly Pearl Street Cafe & Pub, a quaint, relaxing cafe and pub with a menu of various sandwiches, soups, salads and beverages, both alcoholic and nonalcoholic. I had a Chicken avocado panini and an iced coffee. The panini was fresh with colorful grill markings and a grilled chicken cutlet, tomato, Romaine lettuce and an avocado purée for $8.49. (They have 3 types of bread for your panini). The iced coffee was made to order with less ice and extra light. Less expensive than Dunkin' and just as good but with better, more friendly service, AND, it was only $2.49 for a large. Extra large is just 26 cents more! Quite the bargain! And is well within an easy walk from Women's and Infants Hospital. Especially good when you want to get out of the hospital! (The restaurant was quiet when I went at about 11 AM on a Monday and had just reopened after being closed for several months.)
Nurses and doctors, come here for your lunch or coffee. You won't regret it. They are routinely open after 9 am but if there are catering orders, which there are about 3x per week, you can get your coffee or breakfast at 8 am. (They are there when preparing catering meals at about 6:45 am and you could probably get your coffee or breakfast then too.)
And if you are interested in they have beer and mixed drinks available for sale.
Currently, they are open only until 2 pm.
Enjoy!
PS: They have freshly baked cookies for dessert! read more
