So far I have been to Mezzo twice in less than a month, and to say my experience was great would be an understatement! The food was lovely, the staff was great! The first time I had JT and he was great and attentive. He gave great recommendations! The last time I went was on a Wednesday to celebrate a birthday. The food was amazing as usual and the service was fantastic. I ordered a cider that wasn't really my jam, but I didn't want to complain since i ordered it. Nick came and checked on us and asked if i enjoyed it, I told him it wasn't really my thing and he offered to substitute it for a different beverage! He even offered us a complimentary glass of dessert wine. My partner was telling him how he wants to try wine but doesn't know where to start, Nick invited us back so he can show us more wines! Unfortunately, when I checked my bank account on a Saturday I was overcharged.. I called them and left a vm. Nick called back within a few hours and apologized immediately. He was extremely kind and honest about the situation and even offered me a gift card on top of my bank crediting me back. Usually things like this are a hassle and I was hesitant to even call but Nick was so very honest and transparent and made me feel comfortable. My family and I came here for a birthday and had a great experience! It was a Friday and super busy - but we were able to get a spot at the bar. We got the calamari (fritto misto) for an appetizer - it was crunchy and came with 2 kinds of sauce. My favorite entrée was the parppadelle chicken! There is nothing bad I can say about this little Gem of a restaurant. From the ENTIRE staff being courteous and friendly, and the amazing food that never disappoints, this is my families go to spot for sure. We have had quiet dinners just the wife and I, and we have rented out the patio multiple times hosting as many as 40 of our closest friends and family, and have never been disappointed. Located in a cute little space and definitely not a restaurant you'll stumble across while driving as it's a bit hidden. We met a friend in Stockton for lunch and decided on this place because of the photos I saw posted on Yelp. Our server was Jonnie. Super nice and attentive guy. He was constantly checking up on us and filled our drinks as needed. Loved the friendly service. We started off with the Calamari & Hummus. Both were delicious. As a lover of fried Calamari, I naturally hogged one and ignored the other. Squeeze some lemon on the Calamari and you have perfection. I also had a refreshing Lemonade. My main course was the Grilled Chicken Panini with a side Cesar Salad. The Panini was amazing, but definitely heavy on my arteries with the bacon and pesto. The Cesar salad was different. Tasty, but super heavy....a bit like eating chucks of mayo on my lettuce. Everything was great! Loved my first visit to Mezzo. Funny thing......What really stood out was the hand soap LOL. Coconut Lime scented hand soap in the men's restroom. Left my hands feeling soft and clean, with a great smell. Simple, bright décor as well. Parking is definitely not an issue here. So much parking available to accommodate all the businesses located in the complex. CHECK OUT MEZZO! If I'm in Stockton again anytime soon, I'll be trying out other items on the menu. read more

Mezzo is a great go to restaurant for drinks, appetizers or dinner. The food is always great! The menu changes seasonally but they have some good staples on the menu- burger is always good, pasta dishes and beet salad are excellent. Chicken piccata special, heirloom tomato salad special and soup specials are really good as well! The wine list is loaded with excellent selections! The service is always outstanding! From the moment I walked in I was greeted by everyone - sincere and genuine and helpful. I went to the host stand and was greeted by 3 lovely hostesses. They accommodated me throughout my nite specifically Shay, Ruby and Heather. When I ordered my wonderfully lite salad I couldn't believe I actually got rainbow radishes ! The dressing was perfect. Shay made sure I was comfortable and checked in just enough - not under or over. The farm to table and the fact I only had to walk 7 mins from my Marriott is a win win. I do not remember the last time I had Italian food this good. We stumbled in here randomly after an afternoon of wine tasting with a craving for Italian. It is a bit more upscale than I anticipated so I felt a little underdressed in my T-shirt and jeans. But nobody seemed to mind. This place has a classy modernist feel and would be a great spot for a date night or special occasion. Our server was helpful when I asked for menu recommendations and revealed that she had actually gone to cooking school in Tuscany! As all good Italian restaurants do, they served us free bread! I am a sucker for free food. They gave us a few squares of focaccia surrounding an olive tapenade and olive oil mixture. It was awesome. And they happily brought us two refills. I ordered a tagliatelle pasta with mushrooms and kale (I do not remember the exact name). It was sooo good. They make their pasta fresh and, in my opinion, that really elevates a good pasta dish to the next level. I also tried a bite from some other plates on our table and they were all fantastic. The menu changes seasonally which means the ingredients are always fresh and there will always be new delicious options to try! The price is a little higher than for somewhere you might want to go everyday but if you are looking for a nice night out with some superb pasta, Mezzo has got you covered. Specifically, I have been impressed with our server, Shekinah, who has been at the restaurant during each of our visits. She is kind, informative, fun and, above all else, she makes sure that each and every customer feels welcomed and comfortable. The walls are decorated with impressive artwork, there is seating at the bar, and there are tables both indoors and outdoors. The patio sky is lined with lights --perfect for romance and special occasions. We learned from Shekinah that the kitchen staff make their own pasta from scratch, they carve their own ice for specialty drinks, they bake their own break, and whip their own whipped cream. Went to Mezzo yesterday with my boyfriend, just wanting to try a new place in our town. We looked on Yelp of course and it seems like it was all good. When we got there, we got seating quickly (only because we made a reservation) and the people are nice. The place is kind of "hard" to find since it is in a corner part of the lot but Brookside is nice as we, from Stockton know, that it is. So, regarding to the food. The price did not match the quality of food. We got focaccia bead, but only 4 small slices which is nothing practically. But we ordered the pesto with angel hair and chicken which was pretty decent but ONLY decent because for the price of it, didn't make sense. My boyfriend ordered the bolognese pasta dish and according to him, he could've made it better himself. I definitely had better pesto sauce which much more food with the price they were charging. PLUS, we ordered two mixed drinks and that costed more than my plate. Overall, service was good but the food was 3/5 just because I'm really nice and liked my dish at least. If you wanna go, you can but we have better places to have Italian food. I will probably won't go there again but glad I can say that statement. read more

The 4* is primarily for service; crisp but unhurried, and the ambiance which is welcoming and friendly. The food came up a little short, however, and while we just had salads and the risotto, if everything on the menu isn't up to par, somebody should know. Sicilian olives with drinks is a real treat. They have a distinct vanilla note. Lovely. We had the Lawrence and Barbabietole salads which appeared more as platforms for a grill addition so they were a little underwhelming. Then there was the risotto. It is a tough dish to get to the table, we understand that, but don't say you have it if all you are serving is rice. This is not a slam because we will be back but attention must be given across the board or you cannot assume a premium rating. read more

I was told that was an old wine menu and handed a "new" one. Same damn wine list. Got a Chilean wine. Good. The "waitress" finally took my order. Fried eggplant. Small plate waited forever. This was not the kitchens fault. I had to remind her about it. One piece of eggplant. So tired the small plate chicken. I saw it go up on the heat light and timed to see when it would be served. It took 10 minutes!! TEN minutes. I travel a lot and worked as a waiter for 2 years so I get it. But this is the worst service I have Ever had. I should have said something to the manager but best thought I should leave. And left with leaving a tip. The first time in 40+ years I have ever done that. Very disappointed.
