I'm really pissed off....so my hubby and I had dinner here tonight and I ordered a Cadillac margarita up! Now mind you....it was served in a small martini glass! On a road trip and stopped at Stockton for the night. Found this gem close to our hotel, food is really good. My husband had a bisteca and it was so well prepared. I had a lasagna and it was delicious as well. We travel with two dogs, they even brought a blanket for them. We were seating outside, they have heaters and the place is just neat. We recently went to Mezzo for a Saint Patrick's Day dinner and it was amazing. Mezzo is definitely one of the best restaurants in Stockton!! The food was delicious and the service was excellent!! I highly recommend the roasted brussel sprouts, the salmon and the raviolis....and salads are wonderful as well. Mezzo keeps their menu fresh and is always a treat. We had friends visiting from SoCal & they like Italian food so we figured they will enjoy a delicious meal at a low-key yet urbane restaurant in Brookside. We had the Watermelon and tomato salad, which was a hit. They did not offer bottled wine, just glasses only because of covid they say. It's probably best because we shouldn't drink so much anyway. The Landscaped patio seating was great not only because the tables are well spaced but the shrubbery provided privacy and noise abatement. I had the pollo el matte and the girlfriend had the pork chop. The food was great, no complaint there. Service was lovely and welcoming. It's great to be out of the house again. read more

Love this place when I visited Stockton tucked away in Brookside. Host and serving staff was so welcoming and super friendly. I enjoyed the bread and olive oil as a starter in the beginning. We can all agree that carb is one of the many guilty pleasures however- - Mezzo creatively presents it in a Mediterranean heritage and culture with an Italian flare. The purpose of this review is not to go back and forth with Denise. It is true we notified you of our guests who were unable to attend due to family illnesses, out of our control. We provided advanced notice of the change in guest numbers asap and - Denise met this with understanding. Inaccuracies: I have our correspondences and there was never any mention of minimum fee for hosting an event. This detail was never mentioned until Denise's response here. Timing of not being prepared for our event actually took her and her staff well over - 10 minutes. Our tables were not set up according to our layout plans, they were not dressed and set. The staff was literally setting up in front of us, making our party wait, in the heat, with no beverages offered or food as planned. It is no surprise that Denise must not have been overseeing our event, as the charcuterie boards (as orginally ordered and planned and set up for guest's arrival with champagne and cocktails) WERE NOT served before entrees - in fact, I had to remind them our guests needed them, one arrived at our table after salads, while the others arrived during entrees. It's yet another disappointment Denise refutes the truth and tries to cover up. NO STARS. A good lesson for the restaurant is simply acceptance of how Mezzo dropped the ball in execution of our "planned lunch event". Props to *Waiter Jaymard for jumping in and handling the situation with grace and saved the event because he was cordial and able to do what he could with what he had. He had skills in damage control. I thank my family for their understanding and our son offered grace and understanding as well. Thankfully the chef did a nice job. FIVE STARS. Another fabulous evening at Mezzo. This is the best restaurant in Stockton/Lodi, hands down. Heather, our server is the most professional, attentive restaurant worker I've ever had. She not only remembered me, but she remembered the wine I ordered my last visit. And I've dined in New York, L.A., and S.F. Apparently Mezzo has a new owner. At a farm-to-table restaurant, the menu will change with seasonal offerings. I'm hopeful that the new owner doesn't change that philosophy. Also, the wine list has been excellent, with "secret holdings" for the connoisseur willing to spend a few bucks. I hope the new owner doesn't change that either. Mezzo is my go-to outing for a great night with friends. Make it yours! read more

Hubby was so sweet to book us a reservation for Valentine's day dinner, after booking, he mentioned that the restaurant called asking him to put a card on file in order to keep his reservation, which I find interesting that it isn't requested upon booking. We arrived 5 minutes before our reservation and was told to wait a few minutes for our table to be set. Upon sitting and was obvious it was a busy night, we didn't get our water nor placed our order until a while for our server to get to us. We ordered the four course meal with the Tagliatelle and everything was delicious!! I hope to give this place another try when they aren't so busy as we were waiting for our meal for quite some time and my steak was on the colder side as it arrived. After waiting for so long, I didn't have the energy in me to flag with the waiter and wait longer for it to be cooked. After the response, I accept that it was probably just a bad night we chose to come in and they were overwhelmed. I am sorry if I was overly negative. It just didn't feel nice to be ignored and as for asking to speak with anyone, we were in too much of a rush after waiting to be able to do that and I wouldn't have been able to flag someone down anyways because everyone was busy. The chicken sandwich I had for lunch wasn't had enough to complain about. The chicken was just kind of dry and overcooked, but I guess the brioche bun wasn't bad. It was probably a three star meal so I'll update my review to that. read more

An absolutely delightful dining experience! We had a large group of 30 that chose to celebrate birthdays, a new author, and the upcoming Valentine's Day. Shekinah was professional, thorough, accommodating and kind in assisting with reservation and requested set up. I believe our host was Heather, she was efficient and took control to ensure all orders were processed correctly. The enclosed patio was perfect. It was warm, on a cold evening, with the perfect amount of lighting and decor that added to the beautiful backyard garden feel. The food was delicious. Our Beet Salad was tasty & fresh with yummy green goddess dressing, peas, radicchios, grapefruit slices, butter lettuce. Great service, great food. We arrived early and we're promptly seated. There was a lot of activity readying the kitchen supplies for the evening service but it wasn't too distracting. Our server was TJ and he did a great job. I had the cauliflower Romano and boyfriend had the salmon and Ceasar salad. Both delicious. We ordered the rich and dense chocolate cake for dessert and we're comped the terramissau for BF's birthday. Again, delicious. Can't wait to return and try other items. read more

I ordered from this restaurant for the first time through DoorDash. So disappointing!! First, there were no fries included in my chicken fingers and fries meal. Then, the size of their $20 burger was abysmal and doesn't include any sides or cheese! Last, I ordered the $30 tagliatelle pasta with short rib and found myself chewing on plastic. Upon spitting it out, I found that it was a piece of tape. Thankfully I was able to get a partial refund for my order. I will never order from this restaurant again. I have never been here and had wanted to try it. Today it was supposed to open at 11:30am. Went at 12:20pm and went opened door, and walked in. Door was unlocked, but place was empty. No signs why. Employee yelled, "No, No service" from the back. No sign on door, no explanation why it was closed on a Saturday when all signs and Yelp hours say it would be open. If are going to be closed should have sign on door and door locked. Not have employee yelling at people after they enter. read more

OMG! To explain mezzo in one sentence is to say: "wonderful!" I cannot get enough of this place. It's a must-go for anybody in Stockton. Hands down, one of the best restaurants if not the best restaurant in Stockton. The reason why is they have the best of service. Let's define that period they remember you when you come back. They make recommendations for you they treat you like you are 1st class every time period - bar none. When you walk into mezzo's it's like walking in owning the place that's how they treat you like you own it. You're not gonna get any service like that from any other restaurant that I've seen anywhere within 50 miles. Oh did I mention that the food is awesome on point and hot! Pasta is homemade and they are Farm to Table. Add the compliment of a well stock bar and bartender who can make a great old fashion make this place a must-go! Please do not be in a hurry.
