Mac & cheese topped with chicken
Kim B.

Very good! Open later than most places in Egg Harbor on weeknights. We arrived on a Sunday night ahead of a quick fall getaway, and this was about the only non-pizza, non-junk option. But a good place! The Old Fashioned was one of the best I've had. Hubs and I shared bruschetta, which was also very good. Main course was the Mac & cheese, with grilled chicken added-- generous portion size (probably could have shared it), very rich but good. Our waiter was good-- attentive and friendly. The bar tender also seemed on top of things too. Prices a little high (e,g,, to add chicken was an extra $8, so the mac & cheese + chicken ended up $26). Ambiance is cool, casual. Nice views! It was quiet here on a Sunday night.

Wonderful food! I had the Avocado and Bacon Smash Salad with shrimp and it was delicious. Highly recommend!

Mezzanine offers a one of a kind dining experience overlooking the bay in Egg Harbor. We loved sitting atop the building on a nice day while enjoying a few beers and an appetizer. The snack plate we had was unique and full of flavor, we finished every bite. Service was excellent and quick. Definitely a must try when you're in town.

Bruschetta

I really wish we had been here during the season, as they only were serving lunch on a Sunday morning in the fall. I would love to come back and enjoy the rooftop on a beautiful day. The drinks were yummy... The view is gorgeous... The cheese curds are worth it! The mac and cheese was great on a cool, crisp day. The bruschetta was fresh! The potato salad was yummy! The people were friendly...so I will definitely come back for breakfast!

Pastrami Benedict

Great view of the bay from the restaurant even if you're sitting inside. They have a rooftop deck but it was a little cold the day I was there. We were the only diners sitting inside when we arrived about 11 but the tables were almost full by the time we left. Great coffee but refills were never offered, however our cups were quickly taken and refilled when we asked. Pastrami Benedict was good although the eggs were slightly overcooked. Tasty hollandaise that didn't overpower the other flavors like some do. Potatoes are cooked well almost crispy with a southwestern type seasoning. Wrap was a nice blend of textures with potatoes, scrambled eggs and bacon. Drinks were tasty also but too light on the spirits. Our service was good, and the restaurant was very clean. I would return.

Hand dryer in the bathroom

My husband and I went here for lunch and made it as far as the bathroom. It was dark walls with very dim lightly and it smelled like pee. I couldn't really see because of the dim lighting but I thought the hand dryer looked stained so I took this picture with the flash on. I was so disgusted that I couldn't even eat there.

Whitefish Tacos & Chili Lime Fries

My parents, sister, and I came to Mazzanine for lunch today, and what a wonderful choice we made! The service was excellent; our server was very patient as we pondered whether or not to sit on the rooftop for our lunch. (Our only caution - there is not much -- if any -- shade midday on the rooftop.) We ultimately chose to sit inside, and we had a beautiful view of the harbor and could watch boats launching from our table by the big windows. Two of us ordered the whitefish tacos, one ordered the whitefish sandwich, and one ordered the crispy shrimp and avocado wrap. All of us enjoyed our meal and cleaned our plates. Service was attentive and friendly. You can't go wrong with a visit here!

Chimmichuri toast appetizer

We had lunch on the rooftop on a beautiful Saturday afternoon. We had one person in our party that has a shrimp allergy, she wanted the fish tacos so we inquired about the shrimp being fried in the same oil as the fish. They were fried in the same oil, so they offered to pan fry her a separate batch so she could have the tacos. They were excellent! The restaurant was very accommodating and our server was amazing. The chimichurri toast appetizer was so delicious!

Great food and service. The four in our party enjoyed varied selections. The whitefish chowder and whitefish spread were very good.

I came in on my way home from Peninsula State Park and I am glad I made the quick stop. I wasn't…read moresure at the start because you just never really know what a small restaurant in a small town is going to turn out to be. Upon arrival a young lady greeted me with a genuine smile. It's nice to be sincerely welcome. There were two other tables eating and they seemed happy so I felt like I made a good decision. My server greeted me within 30 seconds or less, not sure if he was also the owner but he was also extremely kind and helpful with the menu. It was around 9:30 so I ordered the Biscuits and Gravy (personal fav) which came with a side of fresh fruit. I also ordered an Orange Juice. The Orange juice was actually super delicious and I am kind of picky on Orange juice so I am glad I went with it. As for the biscuits and gravy I was sold. The gravy tasted like it was homemade and made in small batches with extra attention. The biscuits were also super moist and complimented the gravy perfectly. It was served with a side of fruit which you can not substitute. I am glad I did not substitute because the fruit tasted really fresh and went very well to counter balance the biscuits and gravy. He told me he just cut the fruit and I could tell. All in all this breakfast was a perfect way to spend a birthday morning. The ambiance and environment made for a very nice and relaxing morning visit. The only small knock I have on the place is that the chairs they have at the tables were very hard and uncomfortable. But that was literally my only thing I could gripe on. I would without a doubt come back again to try another dish. I highly recommend. Thank you Village Cafe! :)
