With me, I bought my medical records and all of the prescriptions I had been given in the past. When I presented this to Dr. Mauldin, he skimmed through what I had and said, "Well, what do you want me to do about it?" I told him that I didn't know, which is why I was there. He responded, "I'll give you some Flomax. I don't hand out pain medication, and if you want further treatment you'll need to find a urologist". Before I could respond, he made a bee line for the door and left. I waited for him to come back but he didn't. At this point, I gather my things and begin to leave. Dr. Mauldin is standing there with his staff chit chatting. As I go to depart, I'm given the bill. It says, "Office visit - $289". I looked up at Dr. Mauldin and said, "Isn't that a bit high when you spent only 2 minutes with me and did no kind of procedure?" He responded, "That's why insurance is important". Being the good boy that I am, I reached for a credit card to pay this outrageous price for nothing. Dr. Mauldin himself took the card and ran it through the machine, and watched with baited breath for the approval. Never again. I regret paying, but I don't regret never seeing him again.

He told me to come in right then. Now, to be clear, it was 4:50 and I live half an hour away. It didn't matter to him, he said he'd be there. When I got there, the door was locked, but his staff let me in and led me back. He didn't rush me, he listened and made sure I had everything I needed. In short, he cares. To be honest, it took me a couple of visits to really warm up to him, but now that I've been a patient for a while, I have to say I really like him a lot. He also has a nice sense of humor, not always on display, but at the appropriate time, it sure can make a visit more pleasant. He never makes me feel rushed, he always asks, "What else?" several times, which does help me remember other things I want to discuss with him. The staff at his office is friendly and personable. It's hard to find a good doctor. He's one of them.

What Dr Vijay provides is an an abundance of medical wisdom that leads to exceptional care. She goes out of her way to take care of her patients, even though her bed side manners may not indicate as much at times. She has caught 3 issues that even specialists were unsure about in my case and while I had my doubts about her early on (to the point where I changed providers only to come back after 6 months), I will not trust any other business practice with my or my family's health. Depending on your medical needs, she may seem rushed/rude,its a part of her care process and every single time she has your best interest at heart. To clear up some confusion, here is what her practice is NOT: 1) A money making run of mill business that puts patients second 2) A really cool lobby and fake smiles all around staff 3) A Dr that wants to be your buddy buddy 4) A practice that puts you through all tests and meds that you may *want* or have read about on the internet It is far to easy to blame her, specially when contrasted with well run "businesses", this is a professional who is truly puts her patients firsts and will go out of her way to ensure you are well taken care of. I rated his service as 'above and beyond' and would've scored him at 10. However, over the last couple of years, I've noticed a declining trend in quality of healthcare and front office professionalism; wherein, the nurse practitioner held the notion that Diabetes was curable. Since my A1C was in check, she would no longer prescribe the medication that had been keeping it in check. It was not a pleasant experience getting this escalated to Dr. John's attention. When finally that occurred, Dr. John immediately requested a refill for the prescription med, yet made no mention of the NP's error - or that she would be re-trained. Over the years, his office staff deteriorated, particularly his wife - who clearly rules the roost with autocratic rudeness. While I'm grateful for the decades of great medical care I received from Dr. John, I'm happy to see him retire - and hopefully his wife as well, such that patients can receive the awesome care once delivered by Dr. Paul John, MD.

The only good thing about this place are the nurses; all of them, without exception, are kind and caring folks with good bedside manner. More than I can say about the doctor himself. Dr Kaplan has to be one of the worst doctors I've ever seen as far as bedside manner. He never sat with us more than maybe 5 minutes, enough time to make notes and leave. He gave the bare minimum of attention to my client when she was talking at any point, and interrupted her constantly to cut the conversation shorter. The one and only time he acknowledged ME was before a procedure, where he asked me to tell my client (who was in another room) not to call the office with any concerns for at least 24 hours unless it was an emergency. On our last visit with him, he straight-up told my client (who by this point was in so much pain she could barely leave her apartment and was feeling the emotional distress from that) that she was too emotional for him to deal with. That other people had it way worse than her and THEY didn't cry. Lastly, he told her that even after the two tests she had been through, he would not perform the final procedure on her until she proved to him that she was on an antidepressant (???????????????????) Now the office is giving us the run-around, pushing our next appointment back a week, then another week, then saying we would have to go to a surgical center because they just don't have the tools they need. I've flat-out encouraged my client to quit giving this practice any more of her money; waiting to see a doctor who will treat her with some dignity will be 1000x better than ever seeing this doctor again. He is very caring and always digs until he finds the problem. He has sent me to the best specialists for all of my health needs. I will be so sad if he ever retires. I highly recommend him. He takes the time to get to know his patients and has been my kids' doctors throughout their lives. My only child who doesn't still see him as an adult is an hour away and has care in his town. She had me go down the path of fighting to get a CPAP to work because she insisted my poor sleep was due to sleep apnea. While I do have mild sleep apnea. the CPAP never worked or helped and I ended up giving it back to the DME company. I recently switched doctors and my new doc put me on testosterone cream and 200 mg of progesterone and, wow, I'm sleeping through the night like a baby. It is only estrogen that I cannot take, progesterone and testosterone are fine. I do not recommend Dr. King to anyone. I feel she is very close minded, her bedside manner is terrible and she often runs late without apology.
