I arrived 10 minutes before my appointment time and was taken back to an exam room with-in 5"!! Christie came & retrieved me, she is one of Dr. Nandy's clinicians. She took a brief history, and we discussed who had referred me and why. After documenting the information, she let Dr. Nina Nandy know-I was available and Dr. Nandy came in and introduced herself, and we began to converse. She is very laid-back, yet very professional, in a comfortable kind of way. She listens very carefully and asks appropriate details. After hearing my history, she agreed with my primary care physician that it would benefit me to have some follow up procedures. We discussed her thoughts. She then told me about the preparation required, and said I would be receiving paperwork that would review everything. I expected her to have me call a scheduler or stop by the front desk to schedule, but she actually went in to the calendar and gave me some available dates and scheduled it herself. I worked in healthcare myself for well over 40 years, so it's so nice when you find physicians that are down to earth. I found that with my new primary care physician and both physicians that she has referred me to!!!!! All have been remarkably nice and caring -yet very professional, and competent . In a time where healthcare feels dictated by insurance and government entities it's great to find such knowledgeable yet human physicians, to provide my care !!

I spent 3 days preparing with a special diet and fasting. I had been given a stack of legal paperwork by Dr Luther's office (Austin Gastroenterology) that I had read multiple times prior to arriving for the procedure, but it wasn't until I actually arrived at the Austin Endoscopy Center that I was greeted by not a person, but a tablet that instructed me to take a clipboard and sign yet another stack of legal paperwork that I had not seen before. As I read the new paperwork, I had issues and questions. Specifically, my main questions were about the clauses that stated "telemedicine/telehealth services may be used as part of my procedure(s) as deemed necessary by (the) Physician" and "treatment, processes, and certain related functions of facility may involve the use of artificial intelligence-enabled or -enhanced technologies". Was the doctor even present at the facility? Who would be called via telehealth/telemedicine, and why was this necessary if my physician is a doctor? And I was not comfortable with AI being used while I would be unconscious, as AI is not an MD. I also was not provided with a privacy policy for the AI. Would my procedure be used to further train the AI? I wasn't comfortable with that either. When I was called to the desk, I started asking my questions and was tersely told that the doctor was unavailable to answer my questions as she was in other procedures, and that if I didn't sign the paperwork as-is with no modifications whatsoever, the procedure could not take place. I can only assume presenting this additional paperwork at the last minute is a tactic used to persuade people to sign the papers after they've spent three days preparing. After all, who wants to not have the procedure after preparing for three days? I sure didn't, but I didn't see a choice. I deserve to have my questions answered. My health and my body are too important to me and I wasn't going to be pressured into signing without having an opportunity to ask my questions. So, I chose to leave. I was told the doctor would be in touch. Excellent, I thought, as I really did want to address my questions and concerns. Instead of hearing from the doctor, I received a letter via certified mail signed by Dr Luther stating that "the physicians of Austin Gastroenterology including myself will no longer be able to provide medical care for you". And that is when I decided I needed to write this account and warn future patients. Dr Luther and Austin Gastroenterology did not even care to ask what my questions were. They did not care what my concerns were. In my opinion, this is very unprofessional. Instead of caring about their patient's concerns, Dr Luther and Austin Gastroenterology refused to have me as their patient simply because I had questions and wouldn't accept their legal terms without answers to my questions. My impression is that this is a volume-driven practice where patients are processed efficiently and questions are not welcome. If you're reading this, good for you, you've already done more research than I did. I recommend avoiding Dr Sanjana Luther M.D. and all providers at Austin Gastroenterology, who are also refusing to see me as a patient per the form letter I received. Instead, I highly recommend you find a doctor who cares about you, your questions and concerns, and have your procedure done at a facility where you can speak with your physician before signing consent paperwork.
