The worst food I've ever had. I went here before and the food was fine but this time it was just god awful. I ordered Chili Verda and the meat was over cooked and dried out. It looked like they used old meat. The meat was crunchy. The flavor was just horrible. Everyone pretty much knows what Chili Verda should look and taste like. We will never go there again. So I need to let you know we go here probably once a week. The service is amazing and the food rocks. It's probably the best Mexican food around. We have actually only had to wait one time and that was the other day but it was only like 10 minutes. Victor seems to be our waiter every time and he practically knows what we are going to order every time. We always ask for something that's not ok the menu and it's never a problem. Got here about 5p. Was sat a table promptly. There must have been a shift change or meeting. We didn't see anyone waiting tables for almost 10 minutes. Then they all showed up delivering food and drinks to tables and getting our order. The food was on point with plenty for a doggy bag if you could stop and not cram it down. This is our first visit to a Mexican restaurant since moving to the area. We arrived just after 5:00 PM on a Friday and we're promptly greeted and seated in a booth. The bar had quite a few people in it and he dining room was pretty empty, more staff than customers at that time. Our waiter was quick to welcome us and offer some drinks, I got the strawberry lemonade and my wife got a raspberry iced tea, however the waiter left out the raspberry. The meal was good, an enchilada with rice and a bowl of seafood soup. Afterwards, we got a flan for desert and it was okay, just a bit eggy. Wanted to try a New Mexican restaurant- found Mexquite. We ordered water and margaritas first. One margarita tasted wonderful the second tasted like lime or grapefruit- terrible. We asked for chips and caso that came, we had to ask again it came then our lunch directly, odd, normally brought before main course. I ordered two steak tacos, which was overcooked (burnt) with two much sauce making it watery - sent back. My wife ordered 1 tostada not the lunch, received the lunch - the rice was extremely salty. Not good at all... my food was obviously warmed up in a microwave or something since the enchilada and beans were CRUSTED to the plate. No flavor. Also for a $10 lemon drop you would think they would use better vodka than Gordon's. Also felt super rushed like they just wanted us to get out to turn tables faster. Service was not good. Also the prices in the menu were different from the prices we were charged... between our two plates we were charged $5 more. Totally disappointed in this place. Bummer...we have been going here for years. I just ordered a full meal and appetizer to go but they charged me $5 for a small thing of salsa. That just doesn't sit right with me. First timer at this restaurant. The feel of the restaurant was comfortable -- funky decor. The hostess seemed a little flustered and not able to multi-task (she could have been new). Rather than waiting 25-30 minutes for a table/booth on a Friday night, myself and a friend decided to sit at the bar top. We waited a good five minutes before we were acknowledged by the bartender - she was pleasant. I ordered the Burrito Vegetariano (Veggie Burrito), which has cilantro rice, black beans, seasonal veggies, pico de gallo, wrapped in a spinach flour tortilla, topped with salsa verde melted cheese, tomatillo salsa and sour cream. The burrito was a decent size (went home with leftovers) and flavorful/tasty. My friend ordered the Burrito de Pollo Asado (Grilled Chicken), which has grilled marinated chicken, black beans, cilantro rice, pico de gallo and roasted tomatillo salsa on a tomato flour tortilla, topped with salsa verde, cheese and sour cream. Both of us agreed that we'd give the burritos 3 out of 5 stars -- perfectly adequate food. I wasn't a fan of their Original Margarita, definitely not worth $7. Great chips and salsa though! I really like the food here. It is a bit pricey but they do a good job with quality and service. I had a single item combo plate and everything tasted great $8.95. The next time I had the Mesquite burrito with the pastor $9.95. The pastor was cooked like beef and tasted great but didn't taste like pork to me. A couple people I was with had the seafood salad (shrimp only) and loved it. The decor is festive and comfortable and there is a large bar area that is open to the restaurant. This place is tasty! Everything I have had so far has been fresh, homemade, and delicious. Check out there extensive menu online. The restaurant is comfortable with inside and patio seating. The bar area is a bit small but nice, with 2 flat screens on either end. The chips were fresh, salty and addicting with a smoky roasted salsa accompanying them. The wait staff has been helpful and courteous every time, always keeping drinks/chips/salsa full. Ok. So some friends and I bought $100 in gift cards for $50 at Costco and decided to give them a try Friday night. To begin parking is a nightmare. But it was a nice night and I didn't mind walking a few hundred yards for Mexican food. So we get a seat quickly despite all the cars. As I am looking at the menu I notice something odd. As it turns out tomatoes are Very Expensive??? You get one small dish of salsa and have to pay for refills. Ok..... So I noticed they had fajitas which is.something I always look for. And as it turns out all of us got the fajitas. My friends got a $40 pitcher of margaritas that were crazy strong. Sooooo much tequila. Great pour barkeep. I guess agave is cheaper than tomatoes. On to the food. Wow those were some damn good fajitas. My tortillas did get there about five minutes late but so worth it. I cleaned my plate and the side dish. The staff is o.k. They check on you either every two minutes or ignore you when you give them a please help me look. Overall nice little place. They have a kick ass tequila bar and a nice patio. Not so Happy Mother's Day to me! Sadly I will be avoiding this place after today. They admit that they usually are open until 9:00 pm. Their google page says they are open until 9:00 pm. When we show up at 8:30 pm their restaurant is full but they say they closed early and would not allow us in. I'm there with my 2 year old and 4 year old and my husband for Mother's Day dinner. That's bad customer service. We've been to this location at least 2 dozen times... it's hit and miss... but this experience just turned me off of this restaurant. I asked the server who helped us last time where their hours were that are usually listed on their door, they played dumb. They knew they took it down because they were closing early. We have been going to this restaurant about 6 times a year since it opened ...last night when we got our bill there was a $2.99 charge on the bill for chips and salsa ....this is never happened before... we weren't asked if we wanted chips and salsa for $2.99 they were just brought to the table as they always have been. Mind you, the price is not the issue here... if the menu said chips and salsa $2.99 or $3.99 or whatever, we would have ordered them... we like their chips and salsa... but to have it put on the bill without even telling us is the real issue. When we asked the manager about it as we were leaving, we were informed that it was due to Covid. That's understandable; lots of places have to make changes, maybe even price increases ....but sneaking something onto a bill....not cool. read more

I will start by saying that I used to love this place. Their tortilla soup was always a fantastic go-to for me. However, I will say I have been quite disappointed in my last couple of experiences. Speaking to my most recent visit, I ordered tortilla soup and the arroz con pollo. The soup just isn't the same as it used to be. It didn't taste fresh, almost thick and gloopy like it's been reheated too many times. Also, next to no chicken, corn, cheese. It honestly was not good at all. The arroz con polo had good flavor, but absolutely no chicken in it! I had to pick through the rice to find tiny street taco sized pieces of chicken. I would bet there was less than a tacos worth of meat. Pathetic, especially for about a $40 meal!! They also charge $3.50 for tiny chips and salsa, which typically is complementary. I have been going to Mexquite for years. Unfortunately, my recent trip will be my last. I was excited to have a nice dinner with my girlfriend to celebrate our recent new jobs, I made a reservation a day ahead and could not wait. Upon arrival, there was a line of people without reservations. I went inside and told the waiter I had one. The look I got was weird, he looked at me as if I was lying. When I repeated my statement, he went to look at the iPad. After about 5 minutes, I was completely ignored and he went on to help other customers. I got his attention again and showed my confirmation text, I was told to wait and then I will be helped. After waiting about 20 minutes, I went back inside furious to ask why I kept being ignored. They proceeded to get me a table and take our orders. Aside from the terrible customer service, the food was worse than before. It was cold and felt like it had been sitting out before being brought to me. This was one of the worst experiences I have ever had eating at a restaurant, and I hope something is done about the awful customer service. read more

They are very inconsistent. We've have excellent meals there and terrible meals. I've ordered the tortilla soup 4 times and all 4 times, it was completely different. We just ordered takeout and after $46 dollars, we would have been more satisfied with Taco Bell. The carnitas plate was dry, the fish ceviche was essentially pico de gallo with a few pieces of shrimp, and the crispy taco plate was deconstructed for take out but had the tiniest portion of beef and stale tortillas (the crispy tortillas you'd get in a box). They forgot my beans and rice as well. It was worth less than $10. This was not restaurant quality food. What a waste. We won't be returning. read more
