Guava margarita

We frequent Mexquite often. The aesthetic is great and the restaurant is always clean. Hosts and servers are always friendly and attentive. The food is consistent every time and we always enjoy the chips and salsa and margaritas.

Platillo Tampiqueno

This place is solid! My girlfriend's burrito was over-powered with rice and beans, and unfortunately, not much Al pastor. My platillo tampiqueno was delicious. Funny enough, I actually thought the steak itself was one of the worst parts on my plate. Everything was delicious (rice, beans and mole enchilada). Service was incredible and the churros... best dessert I have had in a while.

Pork tamale with black beans and rice.

We had a going away lunch for a friend with about 9 people. The staff was very friendly and answered the many questions some had about ingredients as we had a couple people with dietary restrictions. The chips were good and the salsa had a kick which I liked but it wasn't over powering. I had a pork tamale and asked for black beans instead of the refried beans. The portions are very generous. Many had a variety of the salads and everyone raved about them. My tamale was very tasty and little different than I'm used too but not in a bad way. The pork had a little more taste then some I've had. I asked about a spicy salsa and they brought me a habanero salsa on the side. It was delicious!! They also have a great bar area and wonderful patio for outdoor dining. The ambiance is also very well done. I would definitely recommend this

Mexquite is seriously one of my favorite spots in Folsom. The atmosphere is so fun and welcoming, and the staff is always super friendly and on top of things. The food though... wow. The shrimp quesadilla is hands down a must-try, and the al pastor tacos are delicious. Their happy hour is also such a great deal definitely worth planning around. Every time I come in, I leave happy and full. Can't recommend this place enough!

The service was absolutely amazing, the staff was attentive and very kind. The food was also great. Portions were also good, and definitely filling.

Chips & Chips and Salsa
Sou L.

We were in the mood for Mexican food and wasn't sure whether to try this place given the mixed reviews. We are happy that we gave them a try though on a rainy Saturday. The service was friendly and the food was great. We ordered the tacos plate & chicken fajitas. First off, the portion size was generous and the food was very flavorful. The complementary chips and salsa were added bonus. Their salsa was good! When in the Folsom are, you may want to visit this little gem The restaurant is pretty spacious and good for groups. They have a nice bar there.

Thus cheered, we were seated quickly, even though we arrived without a reservation. Water, bread and menus came quickly. Perusing them to the background mix of contemporary mellow pop (think James Taylor and Van Morrison) and old standards, we decided on the petite prime rib for the carnivore (me) and sea scallops served over risotto for my wife. We each chose flights of wine to accompany our entrees. Despite including three wines per flight, the pours were fairly generous. Our dishes were perfectly prepared and came out more quickly than we expected, considering that the place was almost full. Our server checked back just enough and took care of any special requests promptly, even offering to exchange one of the wines (out of six!) that we didn't like for something better suited to our taste. The pace was leisurely which was fine given the good food and wine accompanied by the relaxed vibe of the live music. And the prices were quite reasonable given the quality of both the food and service. A dark-ish old school atmosphere added to its charm for us Baby Boomers, but even younger diners seemed to be enjoying themselves. As for us, we highly recommend it!

It all comes in fizzio/coupe glasses on a tower. I also ordered an extra drink (Pink Cloud) and dessert (Lemon Crumb Cake). Everything was so good! The presentation was beautiful. The cake was moist and flavorful. The drinks weren't too strong. The service was a little slow, but the staff were friendly and attentive. Whoever designed this restaurant did a wonderful job. It's very unique and makes me feel like I'm in a cabin. The lighting is dim and sets the mood for a romantic date. There are a few areas to lounge and a spot to take pictures. They have seating available inside and outside. Bathrooms are stocked and clean. The antler chandeliers are gorgeous. But the real star of the show? The bar. The blue and neon lighting, the wood and rock beans, and the huge elk mounted in the center... So awesome! I'm definitely coming back to try other things on their main menu. They have a nice drink selection. It's very easy to spend a good $60+ here.

I brought my family and girlfriend for a nice dinner. We were there for more than 3 hours waiting for our food. It seemed like we had to literally grab the server for more drinks and everything seemed really disorganized. Our total tab was almost $500. For that kind of money at least competent serving and food wait times should be expected. We will not be back and I'm really sad that such a great bar in the front is done such a disservice by the restaurant.

Scarlet's Saloon / Powerhouse Pub is one of my friend's and I's go to spots for a fun night out…read more It's a spacious bar with multiple rooms for whatever you're feeling! There's three rooms/bar areas that each play different music and have a different vibe going on. The cover is typically $20 and they do have an atm on site you can use. One of the bars is cash only the others take card. Usually my friends and I go to the zombie room because the bartender there is super nice and makes really yummy fruity drinks. This room has tons of neon paint and funky decor, it's also where they have live music playing and an upstairs area you can sit in. The other areas are indoor/outdoor and they have seats outside on the front and back patio you can sit and smoke at. Depending on a lot of factors you might love it or might not. There's a big mix of people you'll meet here and there are some interesting individuals you'll meet. For the most part the music is decent, lots of space to dance, good drinks, and you can definitely make it more fun with a great group of people.

I personally go to the Zombie bar because the bartender always makes me the best fruity cocktails. I also like that there are various genres of music so you can choose to move around and hear different genres.
