My family all live far apart from one another, so we compromised on somewhere between me, my wife and them for my birthday dinner, thus we chose this place as I was in the mood for Mexican.They had a traditional Mexican interior, and friendly staff greeted us on arrival. As far as the location goes, I must say they have very limited parking spots(but we found a spot). Parking spots were tight. However, there is ample parking at the big box store across the street, and they are on a bus line. They are not near other restaurants but stand out based on the loud Mexican music and big sign that has a Mexican flag Over all the service was friendly, attentive, and quick(especially considering how packed it was) They give nachos on arrival, sort of like how restaurants normally give bread, which were okay , but the salsa was bland. The lime margarita was amazing. I got the beef enchiladas, which were tender and loaded with food didn't quite pack the punch I was hoping for. My mom and my wife got the nachos with chicken;they didn't like it. So I tried it to confirm the following: the nacho platter with chicken was bland, with very little crunch. It looked like it was sitting around for a while as far as value goes, my wife's beer was more expensive than my margarita, which is a plus if you are an alcohol drinker like me but not for a beer drinker, obviously. The portions on my plate were small, but there were so many different items on the plate that blended together fairly well that the small portions didn't matter too much. This place is special because it is authentic food and service from top to bottom. It's small but has many seats and can accommodate larger parties- just call ahead if you want a reservation..but small walk-ins should be no issue. The service staff is amazing, friendly and knowledgeable. 4/5 for atmosphere because it was cold in the restaurant, probably because it is January and this restaurant is in an old building. The food comes out super quick - even my steak came out very fast. Chips and salsa were complimentary and very tasty. We had 3 kids meal, enchiladas with mole, and steak. Came here for lunch on my birthday with my husband and kids. I was looking very forward to it but unfortunately it was a horrible experience. Food lacked in flavor and was bland. I originally came for the birria tacos and after the waitress took our order she came back to say they don't have any birria available. It was disappointing but not the end of the world. I opted with the steak fajitas instead and they were very chewy and thick cut pieces. Its like a little house off the side of the road. This is a small family restaurant making your common Mexican meals including enchiladas, flautas and mole among many many others. Note that the re-fried beans are vegan so they are also halal. The food was tasty. No complaints there. The free nachos were cold though. I wish they were a lil toasted before. The food used to be great, not anymore. I used to be a regular customer, and I feel horrible for the negative review but its the third time that i had to complain in regards to the quality of the chicken they use and cooking practices. Inconsistency of the food quality due to different cooks and lack of prep care seems to be the issue....Final order was not for human consumption.....the chicken was so bad I literately spit it out, previous order ...I found a paper towel that had been mixed up with my take out Fajitas...that's right a paper towel. I will be more then happy to change my review to a more positive feedback provided the owners make an attempt to correct their preparation and chicken quality issues. This great little Mexican restaurant is right near us in Whitby. The atmosphere is authentic. Servers are very engaging and like to make your experience a fun one. We have been going here for the last 5 years. The menu is great and they patiently explain the foods to you. Portions are very generous! and the food is A1!! Let me start by saying that if this review were just about the food, it would be a 5-star review easily. The food at Mexico Lindo is fantastic. Had both the enchiladas and chimichangas, both were excellent. Also had the guacamole and shared a pitcher of strawberry daiquiris, awesome! The service is also very friendly, definitely a family owned business and it shows in the atmosphere and making sure you feel welcome. The only issue that we ran into was service. Nothing major, again our server was very friendly, but he kept forgetting to bring us our chips for the guacamole, never got them until after we ate our entrees. The timing was off. We just got the guacamole and the entrees came out right after, so we didn't have time to enjoy the appetizer. A lot of these problems were because they were understaffed. The dining room itself needs to be renovated, room is too open. Would prefer have to have booths, would make a huge difference in terms of the ambiance. But again, if you're looking for great Mexican food, Mexico Lindo will not disappoint. Highly recommended. read more

Amazingly delicious Mexican food!! I ordered the flautas which is basically deep fried rolled up chicken tacos and it did not disappoint!! We also got complimentary chips and salsa for the table which is a nice touch. Service was very friendly and I would definitely go back. The only downside is they close pretty early 8:30pm. I am so happy to have this wonderful little restaurant nearby. The decor is perfectly representative of so many restaurants in Mexico. The chef sopa (tortilla soup) is my absolute favourite. It's a huge portion so we either have to share a serving or plan on taking half of an entree home (which isn't a bad thing). The Tabasco combo gives you everything you want in a meal with a bit of spice. When I don't feel a need for variety, I order the beef burrito with tomatillo (green) sauce. I love everything I've had at Mexico Lindo but must admit that my perspective is very limited because I almost always order the same dish, which I love... My standard fare at Mexico Lindo is the chicken flautas. The place is very kitschy but in a very fun way. The walls are adorned with sombreros and brightly coloured clay figurines. Can you say, 'Ariba '?! ( I can, after eating my satisfying meal of flautas). After the server sits your party down, some nachos with two types of dips (one hot and one tomato) are set on the table to be devoured. The service is pretty efficient. Now let me get to the beloved flautas. As the two crunchy rolls of chicken goodness wrapped in fried tortillas are placed before me, I always take a second to appreciate the presentation. The flautas are topped with lettuce, tomatoes and sour cream and it is served with rice and beans. My one criticism would be the small serving of Mexican rice (I think it should come with more and not just one rinky dinky bowl...I can handle the carbs). Mexico Lindo is great, if you are craving Mexican food but you're too far from downtown and you are in Durham region. Went here for the first time today and it is delicious! Real Mexican food in Oshawa! It makes me so happy. The atmosphere of the restaurant is really warm and nice, with some spanish and mexican music playing, not too loud! The walls are a vibrant orange color and decorated with various paintings, plates, hats, all sorts of colorful pretty things, it made me smile. The menu had so many good options on it, and the food we chose was very tasty. All their dishes are served with rice, salad and refried beans. I personally would of liked a little more rice and little less chicken on my plate but that is the only complaint I have. Worst customer service I have ever experienced. Rude behavior, bad quality food. I have no idea why Google Reviews says 4.4 stars. The first incident was asking to sit at another table as they seated us at a table that felt like it was in a hallway and they had many empty tables available. They declined our request as they wanted to clean that part of the room and we were a little surprised when the waitress said "is there is problem with the table?" but just sat at the table they gave us. Then, they began to sweep, mop and change garbage right in front of our table. Note that all of this was at 7:30, which was an hour before closing. They were not considerate at all of the customers and loudly moved screechy chairs to sweep dust right beside us and our food. The food itself was overcooked chicken in sauce. Chopped lettuce, rice, and canned beans. Had better mall Mexican food. The worst of it all was when the waitress gave us takeout boxes and put them on top of our Sangria glasses? And then told us to hurry and pack up because they wanted to put the dishes in the dishwasher. It was 8:20. Which is not even when the restaurant closes. Looks like a dive from the outside, but the food inside is amazing. Have eaten here several times and always left thinking I must go back. My wife loves the pollo con mole, and I'm a big fan of the enchiladas. I like the Tabasco combo which is a beef burrito and chicken enchilada served with a spicy red sauce on the burrito and a milder green sauce for the chicken. Of course they have bottled hot sauce for those like me that like their dishes spicier. The staff are very friendly and so the service is great. The service staff is quick, attentive, and very friendly. The menu has a large number of suggestions, but I went with the beef chimichunga. My friends ordered other items of the menu that I wish I could remember. Food comes out at an average pace, expected of a smaller venue. Nachos and salsa are provided as snacks and come out warm and toasty. The food comes in generous portions and packs a good flavour. The noteworthy thing is that everything tastes fresh - nothing is too oily or stale. I'm very impressed by this place and will definitely stop by again in the future when I'm craving Mexican food. My friends and I were very satisfied with our food and the portions. I gave it 4 stars because I prefer my Mexican food a little spicier - I'll make sure to ask for a touch more heat next time and update my review then! read more
