Found in a little food truck plaza off of Taunton Road. This non-descript 'plaza' of food trucks…read moreoffers varieties like Mexican, Jamaican, Greek and a chip stand. Decisions were tough given the variety of food. I've always been a fan of jerk and random places to eat so the math added up and next thing you know I'm writing this review. The perfect recipe for a jerk chicken dinner is rice and peas, coleslaw, and chicken. (Let's throw in the Ting as a freebie that doesn't require a review). A) Jerk Chicken. This chicken was obviously cooked over a long period of time given the tenderness of the meat (I did notice a smoker off to the side). Succulent, fall off the bone chicken with just the right amount of kick. I ordered the small and it was a great sized portion for a hungry 'boy'. Absolutely amazing tasting and textured chicken. B) Rice and peas - fragrant, high quality rice with delicious kidney beans. The gentleman working at this place offered oxtounge gravy which I gladly accepted. The sauce to rice ratio was perfect and the flavours were spot on. Honestly, Jamaican cuisine is one of my favourites and this was on par with a traditional home cooked meal found in the heart of Kingston. C) Coleslaw - just the perfect amount of creaminess to cabbage ratio. Fresh, crunchy and tasty! Honestly, after I finished my food, I had to tell the owner that this was the best jerk chicken I've ever had. Hands down. Enjoy :)

Today I called ahead and placed a pickup order for the 1LB of jerk chicken ($14) with extra jerk…read moresauce, and OH MY GOD it was amazing. Trying different Jerk Chicken places around the GTA and downtown is a long time hobby of mine, because it's one of the best foods to ever be invented, thank you so much Jamaica. First time I had it was in 2007 when I visited that great country on vacation and have been addicted ever since. Yes, it has bones in it, this is nothing new. The strange human at the bottom review complaining about hurting their teeth needs to check themselves and maybe get familiar with ALL JERK CHICKEN. Ignore that review. This Jerk ties for the #1 spot of EVERY JERK CHICKEN I'VE TRIED, which is a lot. The only one equal to this so far is "Jerk King" in Toronto on Bloor. Keep up the great work "Kings Finest Foods", solid recipe. See you again soon.

This is the best food truck experience that I had…read more I was so excited to find this place where the vendors are competing with their uniqueness, ideas and creativity. This place blew off all my "food truck place = no delicacy/boring" equation. We visited: # Masala Bar (for Pani Puri & Samosa Chaat) # Pierogie Bros (for Perogiechos) # Lowlands (for organic, stone baked vegetable sourdough pizza) # Yorkilicious (for Sunday dinner Yorkshire pudding) ALL were delicious. My highlight is Masala Bar's Samosa Chaat. It is basically a salad mixed with chopped veggie samosa with fresh veggies, herbs and chickpeas, sprinkled with coriander and tamarind pastes. Mix it up - it is a complete meal. Yorkilicious was another mind-blowing one, HUGE pudding with tasty mashed potato, gravy and generous amount of roasted beef. I am addicted. Lowlands' pizza's presentation (cooking in their wood fire oven in front of customers) is also impressive and entertaining, yes, I love their sourdough pizza. They use freshly grown vegetables that are placed beside the oven. I have been to "food truck festivals" in Durham region before but my experiences have been quite negative. Usually I was disappointed, as most trucks were offering food only to attract those who look for quick comfort food like mediocre pizza, burgers, hot dogs, fries or mac & cheese. But Oshawa Food Truck Corral is offering the whole different/exciting/diverse experience. Will come back before it closes before winter!
