Ya can't beat a meal on the patio overlooking the lake. It was one of the most enjoyable and relaxing meals of out quick visit. A warm day, but we were able to hide in the shade feel a slight breeze. There was 1 server for the patio as it was only able half full mid afternoon. We were able to place our order quickly and food was delivered about 10 minutes later. As it was a bit of an odd time to eat, I ordered a quesadilla and my husband a burrito. Both were good and sizable portions. Mine could have used a bit more guac and sour cream, but otherwise I liked it. The restaurant has a nice decor. A lively and fun Mexican theme throughout. This place is one of my favorites! In the summer, it has the BEST outside seating in the whole city, and the food is even better! I always get the "Burrito California," and I find myself craving it multiple times a month. Likewise, the service is always friendly and quick, while the chips and salsa are my favorite as well. I'm a huge mexican food fan (i'm mexican) and i love horchata here it's bad basically just drinking think water no flavor whatsoever. we ordered the guacamole and that also had 0 flavor just tasted all avocado. i ordered the texas alambre molcajete and it was maybe a 3/10 at best. with that being said me and my friend will never be back. There's a reason this place has such low ratings. Let's start with the appetizer. The queso dip was actually ok, however we were served a bunch of stale crumbs for chips. For the entree, I ordered the Chile Relleno, absolutely disgusting. I think they used the same queso cheese on the inside instead regular cheese, when I cut into it all the cheese just poured out like soup. Also the chile itself tasted old and soggy. We stumbled upon this place after ice cream and what a gem with fantastic lake views! We grabbed a patio seat with unobstructed lake view on a Saturday afternoon to our surprise. The marg and tacos were excellent so was the service. The prices are not more expensive than elsewhere in town which is even better! The views can't get any better than this plus you're away from the tourist crowd in Canal Park (well, for the most part as the whole board walk is touristy :). read more

I'm not sure what is happening here but the last few times we've been there, they are so short staffed, everything takes forever, the quality is not what it was and they are frequently out of staples(like pork). This time I didn't even order food because drinks alone took 14 min and when I went up to the bar to see if that would be faster, the patrons sitting at the bar said they hadn't seen anyone in 20 min. I got the pick 3 combo for $13.50, I ordered the Quesadilla & burrito with chicken and the taco with beef. They come loaded with meat, my favorite was the quesadilla. The decor is 40 years old, it's the old ChiChi's from 1985 which has never been updated. Staff was poorly trained and the food wasn't fresh. After ordering and 20 minutes they gave us the wrong food and never checked back. We ate what we could and finally they came back and said "you got the wrong food". After all that a Manager then came out with our food and wondered if wanted it in a to go box and made excuses about her kitchen staff. We got a discount bill, paid it and got out of there. needless to say we were not please. At 5:30 we were one of only a few customers in the place and we now understand why... Ok chimichangas were good. I got chicken. Delicious. But I've always seen it as one big ass chimichanga. This was two tiny ones. Still so good and came with refried beans. My finance got the linda especial or something and it was incredible!!! So much delicious chicken, beef and shrimp, lots of veggies and rice. A little spice to it. Margaritas were delicious! Really hard to know about and not much marketing to show off this spot. We wanted to grab a spot on the patio, as the summer day was brightening up, and the host brought us out and tried to seat us right next to the only other party on the deck, they had a small child, and there were about 12 other empty tables but we were told that section was closed. When our server came out she happily moved us to one of the other more spacious tables. As it got sunnier, the staff brought out umbrellas and it created a super comfortable atmosphere. We ordered drinks: mango margarita, strawberry daiquiri and sangria, and we ordered food: queso, fajitas, and a lunch chimichanga. Our server was great and chill, but the support staff was lacking. When a food runner brought out our queso, he left without even seeing we had no chips left. Seems the simple things are not trained. The drinks were super super good, but the food was only ok. The best thing we had was the fajitas and we were shocked how long they stayed warm. Queso was really subpar like directly out of the $1 jar. The oddest thing was we were never asked if we wanted another drink. We each would have ordered another drink, but when they came and saw ours were empty they simply took them away and didn't ask if we wanted anything else. And brought the check super early without asking if we wanted any more food. The salsa is so good paired with hot fresh chips. Food comes quickly even when it's a packed house. This restaurant is on the 2nd floor in the Fitgers building. I was very hesitant to come here because it was super busy and there was a massive line that was not being handled the best. I am very glad we waited because our server (Mateo) was absolutely phenomenal. He was taking care of half the restaurant and doing a phenomenal job! My steak burrito came with dried out and overdone meat but it was swimming in queso so that helped. Alright, I saw that my favourite Mexican restaurant in Duluth had less stars than it deserved, and I had to help right that wrong. First, as an Arizona native, I have no qualms with the food. Rise and beans are great (I'm a simple soul), the chips are crisp, and the salsa is fresh. The patio view of Lake Superior is gorgeous (bring sunglasses), and Pidgie is normally around if I need help finishing a chip. (Not a suggested practice though... pigeons shouldn't have a lot of salt...) Anyway, generally speaking, Mexico Lindo is a great place. The fellow who helped us last time was quite amiable, too. I've been coming to Mexico Lindo for over a decade. 2018-2021 the food went very downhill, as did the service! I was bummed because it was a staple restaurant for us! I met a friend there tonight and wow, some of the best food I've had there in years and the service was perfect! Nate was our server and did an exceptional job! This place is in the Fitgers Mall along Lake Superior and the Duluth Lakewalk. We sat on the balcony which we we t up to from the Lakewalk and then went into the hostess stand to get seated. This location was famous for the old Chi-Chi's restaurant. This place isn't as good but the views and atmosphere is nice. It is an old brick/stone building right on the lake. We had a huge Margarita and enjoyed the views. read more

took 30 min to get the drinks we had ordered, I had just gotten a water, then I got harassed by the waitress about taking a sip of the alcoholic beverage the other person i was with ordered, I never even took a sip of it! She went absolutely ballistic like she was on meth, proceeded to make me take out my ID even though I did not order anything with alcohol in it. HARASSED the fuck out of me the entire rest of the time we were there, she went as far as to slam her hand on the table next to me and get up in my face and say "this is just the Minnesota liquor laws!!!" anyways that girl was fucking insane and I will not be returning. read more

Probably the best Mexican food we've ever had, even at other Mexico Lindo's! The staff was fun and very efficient. Good beer. We didn't try the Margarita's, but they looked really good! Wonderful view of Lake Superior too. If we ever go back to Duluth, we'll eat there again. read more
