Always an awesome meal!! My husband gets chicken nachos and I love either the chicken tacqito or chimi or enchilada! Ricardo and Preston are awesome servers. Have had birthdays and anniversary here for many years! read more

Azteca's Mexican Grill - Mexican Near Me - Duluth, Minnesota

I really really love this restaurant - great menu of authentic Mexican cuisine. Staff is friendly and service is efficient. Prices are spot on and portions are more than generous. Location is a little off-beat so look out for this gem of Duluth! Asada burrito is my favorite lunch item! Oh, and bring cash as you'll get a nice discount for NOT using a card = ) I put that savings into the tip. read more

Great food! Good service, clean, tasty and delicious Yes will come again. read more

The food is good and the atmosphere is wonderful. Prices are reasonable. Has been a number of times.

We went during lunch specials. There were so many to choose from. Everyone loved what they ordered. Meat was seasoned well and plentiful. We liked the salsa and the bean dip that came with chips. Would recommend! read more

One of our favorite restaurants . We usually order the Tres Chiles. Huge plate of food with two meats and a stuff chile. Always good service . They have great margaritas and beer specials. The molecante is also very good. read more

Food was good, michelada was fire! Service was slow, but the servers were great. It's a small spot probably not alot of staff. I'd eat there again read more

Needed dinner while in Duluth for work. Mexican food IS the same everywhere in the USA. The food is ok. The ambience is ok. The service was fair to poor. The wait to place an order was long enough I thought about leaving. Food came quick but no one ever came back to check. I had to go to the register to get a check. Underwhelming,- I'll look for someplace else next time. read more

Having been married into a Mexican family, this place has been a god send for my wife and I. The food is up there with my mother in law's cooking (which is phenomenal). As for ambiance, it's no different than any other Mexican restaurant the artwork on the tables is pretty neat. As for service, I've never once had a complaint, the servers have been amazing. We love this place and it definitely helps give that little taste of home when we're here. read more

Burrito was underwhelming, and avocado was over ripe and had brown spots. The chimichanga was FIRE though. Delicious. Highly recommend. read more

The service was fantastic and the food was really good. I enjoyed the salsa and the chimichangas.

I ordered some enchiladas off of door dash from Aztecas two weeks ago, and they were pretty decent. Nice portion sizes for the price, so I decided I wanted to go sit down and eat. I checked yelp, and they close at 8. I get there at 7:20 thinking I'm going to have time to smash some food pretty quick before closing. I walk in, the host kind of looked at me and asked if he could help me....I said yeah, just me table for 1... then he tells me they are closed. I asked if they closed at 7 and the online info was wrong...? He said they closed at 8 and were no longer taking tables... I say okay, very much disappointed and some what annoyed by how he addressed their hours... I look around and there are two tables in the whole place that have guests. I guess I just figured with 40 minutes to go of business they could have taken on a table of 1. The food itself was prob 3-4 stars. The lack of being able to take me during business hours, and the exchange with the host, 2 stars is the best im willing to go here. I went down the road to Maya who was able to seat me right away, I had a meal and was gone before 8... read more

My family and I stopped in while enjoying a short stay in Duluth. The restaurant was very clean and they followed Covid guidelines well. We had some great drinks and the food was hot and fast coming out of the kitchen. The Nachos are a smaller portion but still filling and the shredded beef taco was tasty but just a warning if you order for the younger kids let them know its shredded :). The only issue we did have and it's not a big one but we never where offered the Chips and Salsa like all the other tables where offered. We did enjoy and may stop in again when we are back in the area. read more

Great authentic Mexican food and stellar service with a smile. Looking forward to my next visit here. Not busy either. Easy to get a table. read more

Ordered steak taco dinner for take out. The tacos were tasty and it came with pico de gallo and guacamole on the side, perfect with the chips, which were perfectly crispy. I was also impressed with the generous serving of rice and beans. read more

The food was amazing!!!! The chips, cheese sauce (a white cheese sauce; kinda spicy), and salsa were amazing. They're corn chips which is what I like. I had the mushroom veggies skillet without green peppers. It was so great. I did not get the tortillas with it but I could have. The person I was with had the burrito Aztecas. He said it was filled with shrimp, beef, rice, onions, peppers, beans and more. Rice, refried beans and sour cream came on the side. I got those as well with mine and the Guac was the freshest I have had in the area (I have lived here since 1998). So amazing. The staff was awesome. He was so nice and kind. Wish I had got his name but I was too hungry I suppose. Lol. Definitely recommend. read more

We LOVE their food. I think it's the best Mexican food in Duluth. We've been there multiple times and always had a delicious meal. Love the colorful decor. read more

The food was so good! From chips and salsa, to street tacos, tortilla soup and some big flautas, it was all very flavorful and cooked well. Service was wonderful, prompt and very kind!! The reason I had to take a couple stars is that this place needs a cleaning so unbelievably bad. I don't think I would actually go back unless I knew it got a thorough cleaning. Sorry to say it, but they HAVE to do something about it. Hoping we will be able to come back one day and I'm hoping a new review will be warranted. read more

Worst Mexican food I have ever had. BAD service, Childs pizza and fries came 5 minutes after the adult dinners, what???? Why!! AnD crappy as far as a Pizza goes. Never took away the finished plates had to ask for our bill. It's like they forgot we were even there. WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND THIS RESTAURANT. It's like a restaurant gone bad! read more

This is my favorite place to get Mexican food in Duluth. Delicious queso dip, friendly staff, can always get a table

Just OK...ample chips to start...with watery dip. Food was salty (this gets important as one turns 40...or one wants to taste the food). Enchiladas with mole' (chocolate) sauce were way too sweet. Chicken was dry. Avoid these...We also had the two burritos (one with red sauce and one with green): The green sauce was good (but way too salty)..red sauce was not very good: too oily. Bottom line: a pleasant looking place with good service...fun place for a family or a get together...but one can do better for actual Mexican food. However, this is Duluth so perhaps this is as good as it is gonna get this far north (and the Mexican food here is indeed better than what we've had in South (or North) Dakota... read more

We are visiting from San Diego and ate here on the recommendation of my sister-in-law. The food was delicious-especially the shrimp fajitas! We're going back today for brunch! read more

It has been YEARS since we've been here. Since COVID, we try to give as many local places another shot. Glad we did. Pros.....HUGE portions. Enough to have lunch today easily. One chip order is enough for whole family. Cons......Dry as can be chicken in my enchilada. Not a big deal, I smothered it with salsa anyway. We will order again. Only other small con is they do not allow alterations on DoorDash. I'd like to be able to skip the beans. Yuck. read more

Delicious dinner for five, excellent service, fun relaxed atmosphere, very colorful décor. Everything was perfect. Recommend the Burrito Azteca, enough for three meals and shrimp so large you could bite into them. read more

This was the BEST restaurant I have ever been to. The waiter was very kind, and made a very delicious jalepeño side dish. It was 100% worth the money, and when I go back to Duluth I will be excited to dine there again! read more

We were the only table on a Monday night. I orded the Azteca burrito with no shrimp. Order came, bit into burrito and there was shrimp in it. They redid the order, by that time my friend done eating. Asked for discount, owner told sever to pay out his own pocket! Unheard of and bad business practices! I refused the server paying out pocket, hope he finds a better job. I will never be a return customer again. read more

Worst restaurant I've ever been to in my life don't go here, terrible service, cold food and the most unfriendly service I've ever had.

Being from AZ I was leery of any Mexican restaurant this far north. We were both pleasantly surprised with this place ! Homemade chips & salsa and a home made warm bean dip to accompany the chips. The carnitas were great as well as the house made flaun. All very nice and reasonably priced. We'll be back. read more

Authentic food. Expansive menu. Courteous staff. Excellent entrees. An adjoining cantina.

Came here while on a mini spring break trip to Duluth, location was just an easy 10 minutes from our downtown hotel room and was definitely worth the drive for great service and delicious food! My husband ordered Mariscos con Arroz and loved it (he still has 1/2 to eat tomorrow, HUGE portions). It was my daughter's 7th birthday and they gifted her with fried ice cream, such a sweet gesture, thank you! Oh and the decor is colorful and inviting, fun place to dine! read more

Came here looking for some authentic Mexican food and was very disappointed. The chicken tamale straight up tasted like filing for a Banquet Pot pie and the "street taco" was the whitest excuse for a taco ever. Street tacos are not served in flour tortillas and serviced with cheddar cheese. I have yet to find an authentic place in town so this will have to do. Rice and beans were good. Enchilada was like a sugary sauce. Salsa and red sauce literally had ZERO spice. I wish these folks would cook like how they would at home for their family and not what the Midwest thinks is Mexican. read more

Always good. Very authentic and homemade taste. You can taste flavor and bean dip is a favorite. Margaritas are good aswell

Waitress was extremely rude. Lazy and condescending. Wife ordered a Mojito, received a Sprite. Claims she made it herself. I've had plenty of Mojitos in my time, never have I received one without muddled spearmint and lime unless I bought it out of a pre-made bottle. Waitress claims that's how they make them here. I ordered a jumbo margarita. Received it without a salted rim. Again, they claim only salt rim when requested?? 3 stars because food was actually very good. Other than an immature waitress/bartender this would have Been a higher rating. read more

Very good authentic Mexican food came into town from Colorado and it's perfect the carne asada is amazing

If you are looking for authentic Mexican food, do not go here. There are more authentic and better tasting Mexican restaurants in Duluth. I am from Mexico and this is not Mexican food. It is American-ized Mexican food that is very heavy. There are also tons of spelling errors in Spanish all over the restaurant and menu... clearly not authentic. I was disappointed read more

Unimpressed. We arrived just before 8:00 on a Friday night. Before our orders had been taken the staff was already putting up chairs at the tables around us. We felt like we needed to hurry and eat so they could close (sign said open until 10:00). Chips were stale. I'm confident there was zero tequila in my margarita. Most of the food was just ok. The up side is that the portions are huge but I guess that's not really a win when the food only tastes ok. Service was good. Our young waiter was very helpful. You could tell it was his first job (we asked too) and he was trying to be great. read more
