Bland. Many elders coming in for bland food. Many waitresses. Ordered a beer which was only available on tap and it tasted sour. How often are tap lines cleaned?

The old days of this place being the best Mexican food in the Valley are gone - it's a shame to see what it's become :-(

Mercado Del Mundo - 2 Enchiladas & 1 tamal combination platter (#3) ($14.99 USD)

Decided to try El Mercadito del Mundo for lunch…read more We dropped in on a Sunday (12:30pm). No wait for a table. Our waitress was friendly. Two salsa bottles (salsa verde and a smoky salsa) were brought to the table. - Agua de horchata ($2.50 USD small) - good but they added a lot of ice. - 2 Enchiladas & 1 tamal combination platter (#3) ($14.99 USD) - tamale was good, enchiladas were bland. Rice wasn't hot; tasted like it sat in the warmer for too long. - Lengua en salsa verde ($16.99 USD) - beef tongue was tender and sautéed onions were nice but tiny portion. Only 7 thin slices of tongue. Nothing blew us away at EMDM. On to the next Mexican spot to try.

Their lunch special was still going at 2:30 (til 3) so the lady gave us one regular menu and one of…read moretheir lunch specials. We tried to share menus for a few minutes, but then decided to ask for another menu since there were two of us. We ordered combos and added a grande taco which is made with a handmade tortilla so that was exciting. FYI there's not chips and salsa here like most of the Mexican restaurants. The food was delicious. Service was OK. The prices are very reasonable. It wasn't too much food which is great! No need to take leftovers home that might go to waste anyway. I'd rather have the low prices. It appeared clean inside. Dated interiors. Large women's bathroom. It's kind of a strange layout and when standing out front, looked more like apartment doors and the open sign was off. Thankfully they had a small sign next to the right door that had their hours written on it and were open.

This place was recommended to me by a galley worker on the san juan ferry. Was heading home to…read moreseattle so gave it a try. Its a nondescript country gas station. In the front is a massive selection of cigarettes and baggies of synthetic marijuana, bags of chips, cookies and soda. Eyes drift left theres a 3 stool bar with taps showing a good selection of local beers. Further left youre looking at the back wall, a back lit menu and food specials on a white board and a tiny window where you order food. I got two beef, two pork tacos on a plate of rice and beans, and a pint of elysian stardust. Beer was good and fresh. Food was great after dousing from the ketchup bottle of green salsa. Was $12 for 3 tacos on rice and beans, 2.75 for extra taco, $4 for beer. Perfect, no complaints. Had a nice 60 minute conversation with another customer. Ill definitely return. Sorry about the food picture, i forgot until plate was nearly empty. Super good. I want to try the super natchos.

The food from here never fails, it's always so delicious. My favorite are the Carne Asada tacos or the Carne Asada fries!

My SO and I came from a long drive from Vancouver to Seattle and back here in Mt Vernon…read more We were skeptical about the restaurant but you can't go wrong with Mexican food. And yes we are not disappointed at all. We were glad to have tried their food. My SO ordered the Chili Relleno and ugh - it was a bomb. We can't get over in raving about the beef. It was so tasty and delicious. He ravished his food in no time. My Cheese Enchilada was good. It comes with beans, rice and salad. Their cocktails are great. Worth it. I had the Mango Margarita. It comes in a big glass. It takes a while to finish it. Our server was good. Kept on checking on us. The dining room has a pretty good size. You can have private parties as some areas are separated. Lovely decors and you can tell the Mexican vibe around. Definitely recommended. Come when you're in town. You'll leave with a Happy Belly!! Cheers

Expensive, yeah. I spent $18 on this dish ._. But, it was yummy. I liked it. Just...that price…read more Service did the bare minimum with serving quickly, but got no refills, no check-ins, etc. no one to even answer me when I asked for where the bathroom was at. At least they let me charge my phone here, but eh...service could be much better, especially bc not at all busy in this restaurant. I got to say...I love the decorations. Reminds me of the Mexican restaurants back home in SoCal where it is clearly family-run and just so rich in culture. Things that you can tell hold historical and personal significance to the owners. I would host a party here with the bar off to the other room, plentiful seating arrangements, and colorful,m vibrancy of the place. Just that service...ah! I want to rate this place higher :( and yes...parking here is ample!
