Best Mexican food in town hands down. Small but has a lot of the ingredients you need to cook at home. Bread made daily too.

The first time my wife and I came in, we shared the fajitas and they were absolutely incredible. Everything was full of flavor, fresh, and cooked perfectly. Their homemade beans alone are worth talking about -- seriously some of the best I've had. We came back again today and I tried the enchiladas with the creamy poblano sauce... and wow. Hands down the best enchiladas I've ever had. That sauce was rich, flavorful, and something I'll definitely be coming back for. On top of the amazing food, the customer service has been top notch both times. Everyone is friendly, welcoming, and really makes the experience even better. And I can't forget the real fruit coconut margarita -- absolutely to die for! Fresh, beautiful, and just as good as it looks. This place is officially one of our favorites. Amazing food, amazing drinks, amazing people. We'll definitely be back!

Delicious food, excellent ambience and extremely friendly service! We loved everything we tried,…read morethe chicken was so tender and cooked to perfection in pollo en mole, the fish tacos were deconstructed and came with a delicious grassy sauce and the rice and beans were so flavorful! The burrito and enchiladas were delicious and the cocktails and the cocktails were spot on. A very cute place with great service, we will be back to try other stuff in the menu!

Decided to try El Mercadito del Mundo for lunch…read more We dropped in on a Sunday (12:30pm). No wait for a table. Our waitress was friendly. Two salsa bottles (salsa verde and a smoky salsa) were brought to the table. - Agua de horchata ($2.50 USD small) - good but they added a lot of ice. - 2 Enchiladas & 1 tamal combination platter (#3) ($14.99 USD) - tamale was good, enchiladas were bland. Rice wasn't hot; tasted like it sat in the warmer for too long. - Lengua en salsa verde ($16.99 USD) - beef tongue was tender and sautéed onions were nice but tiny portion. Only 7 thin slices of tongue. Nothing blew us away at EMDM. On to the next Mexican spot to try.

We tried to share menus for a few minutes, but then decided to ask for another menu since there were two of us. We ordered combos and added a grande taco which is made with a handmade tortilla so that was exciting. FYI there's not chips and salsa here like most of the Mexican restaurants. The food was delicious. Service was OK. The prices are very reasonable. It wasn't too much food which is great! No need to take leftovers home that might go to waste anyway. I'd rather have the low prices. It appeared clean inside. Dated interiors. Large women's bathroom. It's kind of a strange layout and when standing out front, looked more like apartment doors and the open sign was off. Thankfully they had a small sign next to the right door that had their hours written on it and were open.

My SO and I came from a long drive from Vancouver to Seattle and back here in Mt Vernon…read more We were skeptical about the restaurant but you can't go wrong with Mexican food. And yes we are not disappointed at all. We were glad to have tried their food. My SO ordered the Chili Relleno and ugh - it was a bomb. We can't get over in raving about the beef. It was so tasty and delicious. He ravished his food in no time. My Cheese Enchilada was good. It comes with beans, rice and salad. Their cocktails are great. Worth it. I had the Mango Margarita. It comes in a big glass. It takes a while to finish it. Our server was good. Kept on checking on us. The dining room has a pretty good size. You can have private parties as some areas are separated. Lovely decors and you can tell the Mexican vibe around. Definitely recommended. Come when you're in town. You'll leave with a Happy Belly!! Cheers

Expensive, yeah. I spent $18 on this dish ._. But, it was yummy. I liked it. Just...that price…read more Service did the bare minimum with serving quickly, but got no refills, no check-ins, etc. no one to even answer me when I asked for where the bathroom was at. At least they let me charge my phone here, but eh...service could be much better, especially bc not at all busy in this restaurant. I got to say...I love the decorations. Reminds me of the Mexican restaurants back home in SoCal where it is clearly family-run and just so rich in culture. Things that you can tell hold historical and personal significance to the owners. I would host a party here with the bar off to the other room, plentiful seating arrangements, and colorful,m vibrancy of the place. Just that service...ah! I want to rate this place higher :( and yes...parking here is ample!
