This place is tucked away off I-35 but they have a billboard if you're going I-35N that draws your attention. Do yourself a favor and stop in! They have friendly and fast service as well as great Mexican food. The tortillas are so buttery and flavorful, I can eat the tortillas by themselves. This is also the first place I've dined that gives you chips, salsa, and beans. I enjoyed the beans more than the salsa however, both were very appetizing. Our waitress was fairly new and she originally brought me the wrong dish but she was very apologetic and it was replaced quickly. I ordered a chicken quesadilla and a cucumber margarita. This was my first time having a cucumber margarita. It was so refreshing. I think I might've found a new Taco Tuesday spot and favorite drink! read more

We visited on a Friday specifically to enjoy the Mariachis that perform that evening. Our group of 14 was seated quickly--probably after about a 10-minute wait. Our meals arrived all at once and within a reasonable timeframe. The combination of delicious food, lovely music, and great company made for a perfect experience. First time coming here! We got a coupon by mail recently so we followed the address and got here. As we are vegetarian, we asked for vegetarian menu and they had a few options and the friendly staff, Nadia, led us to the seat! Interior of this restaurant is the authentic Mexican style and I like the vibe there! Nadia shared the menu info of what we can have in vegetarian style (very thoughtful)! And when she wasn't sure if the substitute was okay, she called her manager, Saul, to make sure alternatives were okay! So We got lots of cacti and avocado with veggies! Unfortunately, they use lard on rice and beans so we had to remove it from our dishes; sad (PLEASE MAKE VEGETARIAN BEANS AND RICE without animal products; the demand will soon increase!) so they substituted with more cacti and avocado which was still good! We ordered three crispy tacos, fajita, 4 soft taco and hochata! I think cacti was the winner of the night! Overall we had a wonderful dinner over there and wishes that they make vegetarian options including rice and beans and beyond!! Hope for the improvement! First visit to this restaurant. Seems crowded when we passed by numerous times but not so much today. Parking was available which was good. Seated right away and server was attentive with drinks and salsa/chips. Street tacos with pork filling were tasty. Enchiladas verde with chicken were good. Wished for some veggies on the plate but limited to beans and enchiladas. The verde salsa had a good flavor and stewed chicken also had some flavor but would have appreciated some onions or peppers, lettuce and tomato. Oh well. Celebrating NY day so treated ourselves to deserts - tres leche cake and cheesecake. Both were good and requested a couple pieces of fruit on the cheesecake - 2 blackberries and a piece of strawberry as well as some chocolate drizzle. Tres leche authentic taste. My mom and I are locals and we eat here about once a week. Seriously our favorite spot ever. The staff is always so nice and helpful and the food is always amazing. And the food comes out FAST. We were traveling recently from Austin to Waco and got extremely hungry. We decided we needed Mexican food. Who doesn't need good Mexican food when you are traveling right?!? So we found this place off the highway and boy are we glad we did. First off the service EVERYONE here checks in on you. From the person that seated you to the staff just walking by your table. We felt pretty darn special. We got a frozen margarita which actually was a standard margarita but..... drum roll.... They have to go margaritas. That right there made me wish we had one where we live. I got the queso birria tacos after wrestling with the enchiladas. I'm glad I did. I'm not so much of a consume person, but the meat had outstanding flavors. Those of you that know me know I am a birria whore and I am very picky about my tacos. Absolutely delish. Plus they had a spicy green and red sauce that made my mouth water with delight. It was pretty busy during lunch, but not so busy we couldn't hear ourselves talk. The food was absolutely amazing they seasoned the meat so well i mean wow. The server was pretty good to we rarely had to ask for anything. And I'll tell you the restaurant is bigger than it looks from the outside. I was surprised by the amount of space they had. The only reason they get a 4 star instead of 5 is my usual beef with places like this. This place is just a joke. They charged me $15 for enchiladas. $20 with tip out of my pocket. They gave me these dry tasteless chicken and NO CHEESE and a running TASTELESS bland suiza sauce. To top it off, I placed my order in the drive through. Waiting in line. Drove 3 minutes home. And I was just so disappointed I called. After working a 10 hour shift they said for me to get back in my car, drive back to the restaurant and get it remade. Or my other option, put it in the fridge and bring it back and get it replaced then. There is just absolutely no customer service. Spare yourself and to Taco Tex michelada. Another hidden gem in Jarrell! I've been twice now, and I'm in love with the Chicken tortilla soup! They have some great lunch specials, and my fave is the soup & taco one. Friendly service, nice vibe too! Just make sure to let them know if you are going to pay cash, because both times a credit card fee was added to my bill. Something was different on Tuesday January 7th regarding the taco meat. It had a strange unpleasant taste and smell. All 3 people in my party agreed we as well as Julia, the server who waits on us frequently. The tacos were more like the size of street tacos, and to top it off, the short Mexican gentleman who waited on us was so rude. Not sure if he is related to the owners but I would not be acting in that manner and expecting a good tip. Terrible people skills and extremely poor command of the English language or it seemed. Very disappointing! However, on a better note, the margaritas were tasty as usual Hope this is not going to be a regular thing with the beef and waiter. I'm really shocked this place isn't above 4 Stars. My best friend just moved here and we eat here every time I'm in town which is a couple times a month. We absolutely love it. Our first time here and it won't be the last. Traveling from Austin to Fort Worth we used Yelp and stopped into a restaurant solely on hope and Yelp. We were greeted by a fabulous server named Nadia that helped us navigate the menu and got us on our way to food heaven with delicious food and drinks. WHY are there PEA's at all in the RICE???? uggghhhhh! And so many!! Good on the diced Carrots it seemed, but the Pea's ruin a potentially good rice otherwise. A few of us had the Carne Asada with a Cheese Enchilada. The Enchilada was cold, and we basically got a mouth of SHREDDED CHEESE. The sauce is good. Being from California we know Mexican and gauge it on the Asada. Unfortunately, it missed the mark on 2 levels. No smoky grill marks and under seasoned.
