It's a small restaurant in a small supermarket with a nice looking butcher shop area. The waitresses were nice and spoke English and Spanish. There were daily special signs and they had great looking flan in the refrigerated case but unfortunately I didn't try it. Just arrived from Los Angeles after growing up in South Florida and these are pretty good tacos that for anybody who wants to taste authentic mexican tacos (instead of fake taco bell), come out to support these small local business as they have groceries, bakery, meat department, and the taco/torta/plancha restaurant stand that has good flavors. I recommend the Tacos Al Pastor, it's seasoned pork that comes in a soft tortilla and packed with cilantro, fresh diced onions, pineapple bits, and they include a big juicy lime which is important to spread over the tacos along with fresh salsa that could be mild or have a nice kick. The only star off is that my asada was lacking a lot of steak meat, I'm sure it doesn't happen all the time but make sure to check out your order before taking out. read more

Authentic non- Americanized Mexican food! You order at the counter and they bring food to our table. There are two large tables to sit at. You will sit with strangers! I had a great lunch and the people at my table all talked to each other. There is a large bowl of green salsa on the table for everyone to share, along with a bowl of roasted peppers and onions. I ordered the enchiladas verdes. It was served with rice and beans. Four enchiladas came on the plate...I took 1/2 of them home. They were topped with a green sauce, lettuce, sour cream and tomatoes. The chicken used was white and not fatty. Everything tasted fresh. The beans were very runny and had no cheese on them. They did have good flavor. I ordered chips and salsa. This came after my meal was served. It was a large basket. You can request the special red sauce that is very spicy or just use the green salsa on the table. The chips were freshly fried, but tasted like they used old oil and it had a burnt taste to them. You pay after you eat. Staff was friendly and everyone I interacted with spoke English. The reason for four stars is that the chips weren't amazing and the seating area is small. Just be prepared to sit with someone or take your food to go. read more

I dont recall how I came across this market but it saves me the drive to homestead, even if I have to drive 20 minutes. Their tacos our delicious! Also love their Mexican bread and queso fresco is very reasonably priced. Its very small and looks like they have a large clientele. Nice small Mexican Supermarket. Basic supplies, butcher, and restaurant. You know it's authentic when the locals come here to eat. My tripa taco was okay. The taco was perfectly charred but the tripa had no tripe meat on it and it was all just deep fried coating. My fellow diner ordered the carne asada and said it was dry. All the tacos came with a good helping of cilantro and onions. Orders come with a side of red sauce, you have to ask for green sauce, salsa Verde, on the side. Peppers on the table. I can't lie this place is very authentic and although I did have one bad moment they are still the best.

So I drive all the way from Miami to come eat tacos here on the weekends. This place has its humble beginnings but it's grown since I've started coming and surprisingly the quality keeps improving. I've never eat inside but on the weekends they have a tent out in the parking lot and they have a variety of meats to choose from. Asada, al pastor, cabeza, cesó and there are probably many others that I can't remember right now. Each taco I believe it's $2 dollars and you can't go wrong with any of them. I've gone to Mexico just for tacos and I have to say they are as close as they come to the real thing. They are totally worth it and it's authentic as they come. When I come I always get an order of 4 al pastor with a jarrito and an elote. I recommend this place as it's not the fanciest but the tacos are always on point. read more

Call ahead if you're ordering for lunch. Be sure to walk through the aisles of the grocery store to find Latin snacks and drinks. I'm always able to find my favorite plantain chips in there Zambos Chile y Limon YUMMM. I'm a huge fan of the grilled steak tostada, the shrimp tacos and the GUACCCC!! If you do anything, order the guacamole it is so fresh, packed w/ chunks of avocado and flavor. It's a must-have when we order lunch. The chips are also homemade which adds to the taste. So, upon walking through the door, I could have sworn I walked right into Tijuana. It was as authentic as it could be. It was lunch time and I was in the neighborhood and was tasting some authentic Mexican foods. There was the hustle and bustle of people getting their tacos from the little kitchen pass through window to the butcher chopping up different meats while others were doing their grocery shopping. They had pinatas hanging from the ceiling as well as Mexico soccer jerseys and other authentic Mexican novelties. There were fresh fruit cups with some kind of red sauce on them next to the cash registers and lots of other delights that looked homemade in the deli area. The fridge cases had so many Mexican sodas, I was a bit in awe. The people in the small restaurant kitchen worked together as if they were a family. For seating, there is one communal table and a small bar area with a half dozen stools. On the table was two large Molcajets or mortal and pestles filled with red chile peppers and a tomatillo salsa that was just as hot. At the window to the kitchen I ordered my tacos from the choices on the board above the window. I went with a carne asada, al pastor, and a nopales (marinated cactus) tacos. My husband ordered pollo tacos and agreed with me that these were so good and nothing like what you get at an American chain taco spot. The prices were mostly $2 per taco and they were stuffed with meat, onions and cilantro. We loved our little Mexican experience and the only thing missing was the little Chiclets gum packs that we used to buy across the border. read more

Literally a hole in the wall as you walk up to the window and give the lady your order. The place is a "tienda" filled with Mexican produce, groceries and meat cuts on one side, and the counter with order window on the other. But let me tell you, the food that comes out of that window! Orale! My son and I came in for a weekday lunch and sat at the counter. No menus as everything they have is posted in large signs in front of you. No one came out, so I walked up to the window and asked the young lady how to place my order and she said she takes it from there. We wound up having a delightful variety of authentic Mexican specialties. Chorizo and Tongue tacos. Sopes, tamales and the freshest made tortilla chips I've ever had with a huge bowl of fresh guac right in front of us. The chips alone were worth it. The green salsa was jumpin hot. The Cafe is inside a Mexican grocery store where they have a few veggies and also Mexican snacks (adobo lays, seasoned grasshopper, salt and lime grasshoppers, baked pastries I'm coming for y'all next time). So my expectations were a bit too high. I saw the ratings and read a couple reviews and thought this was a good choice. Well, I'll say this; this'll be my last time ordering from there. I had three tacos from there and didn't know what was what. Only one of them was tasted okay. The other two I forced myself to eat them because I did pay about $14 to have them delivered to me. I just had lunch delivered from here and I am not very impressed. I ordered Tacos, a Sopes and a Burrito. The tacos were good, but its pretty hard to mess them up. The Sopes came smothered in lettuce. I have ordered Sopes at many other restaurants and never had them come with lettuce... No big deal, pick it off. The Burrito was mostly lettuce. The picture does not show lettuce in the burrito. When I say mostly lettuce, I'm talking like 65-75% of the inside was lettuce. The flavors of the burrito were not so good either. Not sure if it was the rice, the meat or the abundance of lettuce, but I took 3 bites and threw the rest out. Long and short... I will not be ordering from them again.
