Steak Burrito

Place is legit. Been coming here for 10 years. Authentic Mexican food. Smells great when you walk in. Atmosphere is alive. Service is great and quick. Always a smile. Food is delicious. What I love most is the prices are relatively the same here the past decade I've been coming. A lot of place have raised their prices. Not this one. Great food every time.

If you're looking for the best taqueria experience, as a frequent traveler of the US and someone who goes to many taquerias around the country, this place hits on all positive points, good service, great food, very nice atmosphere and fair prices. The only negative is their outside sign & entrance is not up to American visual appeal! Mrs. Raquel, you should have a better outdoor marketing presence, if you want more customers, good luck!

I was just passing through to get my car fixed but wow. The best tacos I've ever had in Florida. I had Cabeza, Carnita and Suadero tacos. They came out with in 10 minutes and were incredible. I ate them so fast I only had one left by the time I remembered to take a photo lol

Tripe burrito

I've been a loyal customer of Taquería Doña Raquel for years, and it has never disappointed me. The variety of dishes is excellent, but their tripe is what keeps me coming back. It's incredibly hard to find well-cooked tripe, but they nail it every time--whether it's in a burrito or a taco, it's always amazing. The service is amiable and attentive, making every visit a pleasure. This place truly has my heart because of their outstanding tripe. Highly recommended!

Since my fav Mexican restaurant closes early on Sun I to look for smthg else & similar. So ok, yes literally in the middle of nowhere but worth it!! Food absolutely delicious, our waitress, what a delightful young lady I believe her name is Yadaly (I'm so bad with names). Def another restaurant to go & most importantly "price is just right"!

I'm still Coming here after many years. It's the real deal. When people ask me what my favorite taco place is, "Dona Raquél " is my answer. You walk in and see the pots and pans on the stove full of delicious food. Today I had the complimentary chips and salsas, steak taco, beans, and steak Gordita. The Gordita shell is freshly fried and so good. Service is quick. There is indoor seating only.

My favorite Mexican restaurant is called Taquería Dona Raquél. Located on Sixie highway south of Atlantic in Pompano Beach. It's in an industrial area but we'll worth it. I go here a lot and had many dishes on the menu. On weekends they cook tamales in a husk. I had the chicken tamale. Delicious. Then I ordered a postone I think it's called. They cook the meat on a spit and serve it as a taco. Tender and juicy. They only offer this dish on the weekend too. Well worth trying this dish. I love the open kitchen and I'd you sit close enough l, you can watch the chef cook. The cook with love and you taste it in their food. Very crowded for a Sunday lunch. Servers always friendly and accommodating. Reasonable prices. Mostly local Mexicans I see dine here, so you know their food is the real deal.

Hands down, some of the best authentic Mexican tacos I've ever had!…read more I stopped in for lunch at Habaneros Mexican Taqueria in Pompano Beach and was absolutely blown away. This place is the real deal. The tacos are cooked to order, so yes--it takes a little time. But wow, is it worth the wait. I had two tacos: asada and carnitas. Both came out hot off the grill with generous, juicy portions of perfectly seasoned meat. The flavors were rich and fresh, and the texture was spot-on. What really set them apart, though, were the homemade corn tortillas--warm, slightly chewy, and clearly made in-house with care. Just fantastic. I skipped the cilantro (not my thing), but the freshly diced onions added a nice crunchy contrast. And the salsas--oh man. They brought out two squeeze bottles, one red and one green. The green salsa was my favorite: cold, zesty, just the right amount of heat (about 5/10), and full of flavor and texture. The red salsa had a deeper kick and great flavor too--definitely not shy on the spice. A final squeeze of the lime wedge brought everything together perfectly. If you're in the area and love tacos, this spot is a must. I'm already planning my next visit.

Worst tacos ever! Tacos had no flavor at all..the sauce was disgusting. Will never get food here…read moreagain

My goodness, I did not think this call would result in some of the most incredible tacos I have ever had!! I ordered shrimp, steak, birria. All were great. The shrimp were nice big pieces and the birria shell was super crispy, The service was done by the owner himself. I was wondering why with the how damn delicious the food is here, how come there isn't much traffic in this place. Well the plaza actually has no anchor store such as a Publix or Target etc. Dude, if you've seen my habits you know I am ordering again soon... and with that, this time I won't scarf down the food before I take pics.

I brought most of my meal home because the salsa was so so good! I want to buy it by the gallon!! Margaritas: got the house margarita for $10.95..... it was ok. Not too sweet which I like but not great. It was just ok. Queso Cheese: excellent Shrimp Fajitas: so so good but so hot! By time they cooled off enough to eat I filled up on chips and salsa. The seasoning was perfect and I loved the veggies that came with it (mushrooms, carrots, zucchini, squash, onion). The shrimp were a great size but I struggled taking the tail off for some reason. The rice and beans were not great, not a ton of flavor! Burrito Macho: with ground beef. Husband enjoyed it. Gave it 4/5 but ate the whole thing. Said something was "sweet" he couldn't put his finger on. I would go back as it was very good. Not excellent but very good! Because the salsa is so good I would try anything on their menu to find my fav dish.

It…read morereally is that good and I've been to probably every Mexican restaurant in South Florida searching for one that makes me think of Chicago's Mexican food where I'm from. Probably a hundred restaurants. And, this is it. The steak burrito reminds me of home and is the *only* one in the entire state I'd bet that I can say that about. I must have tried them all. That aside, I don't look Mexican but I am and don't speak much spanish but I've gone in there they talk about me and call me a gringo on my way walking out. You can tell they are a bit hesitant when white people walk in there since nobody speaks english when you're in there (it is a Mexican grocery store after all) but it's pretty rude to do that with paying, regular customers. I understand what they're saying but just choose not to speak spanish here and let them know I can understand they're talking about me. It keeps me from going back weekly and instead I go once a month or two instead. It's the only Mexican restaurant I've been to that has that vibe. Either way, the weirdness is worth it! No question 5 stars on food but the ambiance needs work. Still I am rating it a 5. I do hope management sees this and addresses the issue to be more welcoming to visitors who don't speak spanish, and talking about the customers and insulting them while they're standing right in front of you is unacceptable no matter where you are.

It was a nice and delicious surprise. Even after the traveling in the car, and waiting for me to get hungry, the tacos held up nicely and tasted great. He got me a pork taco that was juicy, very flavorful, and my favorite of the two. The other one was a chicken taco, also great in flavor but dry. They added some sauces on the side, one hotter than the other one, to add some kick. I also got a Passion fruit Jarritos, which is always good with tacos. He said place was following Covid-19 distancing and health rules, and was an easy process to order and pick up safely. So while we are waiting to be able to eat out, consider them a good option to eat in.
