But the bartenders were welcoming and offered us to sit at the bar or one of the sofa sections. We opted for the sofa then ordered drinks and appetizers. The spicy options were calling us so the deviled eggs and spicy shrimp were a must. To drink - the Bulltibi and Lychee Martini. The food came out quickly and was plated nicely. The taste was equally on par and hit the spot. Be sure to use any Marriott credits or vouchers at the bar. Also, ask for under validation code to cover your parking. Good energy, solid food, memorable vibes. What we received instead felt like a live-action social experiment in delayed gratification... without the reward. We were seated at 8:20 PM. Our food arrived at 10:10 PM. Now, I'm no stranger to anticipation. I've waited on big moments in life. But waiting nearly two hours for dinner while watching your drinks slowly dissolve into flavored water? That's not anticipation. That's character development nobody asked for. Speaking of drinks, by the time they reached us, the ice had completed its full life cycle. What we ordered as cocktails arrived as philosophical statements on impermanence. Appetizers? They made a bold artistic choice to arrive after the entrees... or not at all. Still unclear. At some point, hunger turned into confusion, and confusion turned into negotiation. We politely asked: if we leave, how do we get our deposit back? The answer was reasonable, refund granted, just pay for the drinks (the same drinks that had been aging like disappointment at the bar). And then, miraculously, our food appeared. Instantly. As if our request to leave activated a hidden "Oh wow, they're serious" button in the kitchen. Unfortunately, by then, hunger had left the chat. One guest ordered a well-done burger. It arrived... with ambition, but not completion, it was basically rare. Another ordered a salad, which made a brief cameo on the bill but never in real life. Hydration? We received one water refill over the course of nearly two hours. I've had plants with better watering schedules. Now, I will say this: our server was kind. Genuinely. But kindness alone can't carry an entire operation. We saw her once every thirty minutes or so, and it wasn't packed! And just when we thought the night had delivered its final punchline, a roach casually emerged from beneath the table, as if to personally thank us for dining there... and possibly to continue the evening with us elsewhere. Bold. Memorable. Uninvited. This wasn't just dinner. It was an experience. Not the one we paid for, but certainly one we won't forget. Would I return? Let's just say... I believe in second chances. Just not here.

Like your favorite piece of music or your most prized work of literature, the Bold Monk exists to bring comfort in your time of leisure. It's a beautifully decorated massive venue, with two full floors of service and also features a beer garden. Bold Monk is a place to simply be...to be satisfied, to be joyous, to be connected, to be well. To be yourself! We ordered some beers (note: they also offer a full bar and many cocktail options) and two appetizers (salmon dip & the bitterballen). My absolute favorite was salmon dip. My only complaint is that they didn't provide enough toast. The salmon tasted fresh, loved the texture and seasoning and it was light while also filling. Overall it was a positive experience. The price point was fare considering the offerings and quality and the service was great!

This is a Belgian-inspired brewery, restaurant, bookstore, and beer garden all under one roof. Bold Monk is located in the Upper Westside of Atlanta, near Chattahoochee Food Works and Topgolf Atlanta Midtown. There's plenty of free parking around the building and on the street (Ellsworth Industrial Blvd NW). I like the space here because there are various spaces inside and "outside" to spread out and hang out. I put "outside" in quotes because their patio is fully covered and enclosed -- good for bad weather. I had the Presence Pilsner (lager, 4.8%, 16 oz, $7). It was cold, crisp, and refreshing. I recommend it. The menu describes it as offering a "soft bready malt, delicate herbal and floral hop notes, and clean, dry finish." For dinner, I had the Salmon Dip ($16) to start and the Steak + Frites (market price) as my main. The Salmon Dip is made with house-cured salmon and tarragon aioli, and comes with thin toast triangles. The Steak + Frites is "chef's cut" (not sure which, didn't ask) and comes with Bearnaise, arugula, and Belgian frites (fries). The Bearnaise went great with both the steak and the fries. Bold Monk is known for their Belgian Frites, "The Original French Fry," which comes with a variety of sauces and in a few different styles. They also offer a variety of mussels and pizza. My buddy had one of the pizzas, "the 1838," I believe, which comes with different mushrooms, mozzarella, and house-made truffle ricotta. He seemed to enjoy it. The pizzas - the 1836, the 1899, the 1838, the 1850, and the 1862 - are all named after years that monasteries opened in Europe. I ordered my steak medium rare and it came out just right. The quality of the cut was average/about what you'd expect for budget-friendly steak frites (it's no Bar Blanc in terms of cut quality). But still, that and the Salmon Dip were tasty and satisfying enough. Good service from both our server and the host/manager, who made sure my friend did not leave his jacket behind. Bold Monk opened in December 2019.

I had what seemed like a child's plate with one biscuit and just enough sausage gravy. Come on pour that gravy onto to the lone biscuit! lol. My eggs were not what I ordered and were medium without a yolk! The food was tasty and all, but the portions were incredibly small. It's not a big bad breakfast?

When planning to celebrate my birthday this year, I struggled to figure out my plans that I wanted to set with my girlfriends. Finally I decided on a Sunday Funday and thought it'd be a great reason to check Pink Promise out. As a self-proclaimed 'girly girl' who loves pink, flowers, all that cliche stuff, they were right up my alley. Upon arrival, two of my girls were already seated in a comfy booth in the corner. The girls who were working there were all dressed in pink - so cute! The restaurant was covered in florals and pink accents, truly a pink dream. Our group quickly grew, and the ladies were patient and kind with each and every one of us. We all tried some different cocktails and we loved them all. My personal favorite was the Coco Chanel which I should NOT have ordered based off of aesthetics because, WOO. That baby was strong, lol. But still tasty, so they did right by us, lol. The young lady who was serving our table told us to tell her when we would be toasting (such a millennial trait lolol), and we totally forgot to do so. So when she and her teammate came over with glasses of champagne, macarons and a bubble gun - all for me?! Omg, I loved it! Such a sweet birthday surprise. This is really a great spot to enjoy a girl's night out, brunch, or even a solo night out. I can't wait to return!

It is located off Northside Drive not far from the Lidl. There was plenty of room for parking in the garage. Which was low key free after I did my math! Anywho! The vibe in Pinky Promise was amazing. The music was on point the decor outstanding like no words cant describe how beautiful it is in there. The artificial flowers all looked real. The space is not that big, which is OK. It gives it a cozy feel and it just completes everything pink and beautiful. The wait staff was amazing. We went there just for drinks to do a toast to the birthday girl, and they did not miss a beat. Their drink menu had so much to choose from and the names were so cute. I went with mocktails for the afternoon, which I will share the name and the ingredients, but for the toast for the birthday girl they bought out glasses of champagne and a bubble gun so cute. Please go to pinky promise you won't regret it. My mocktail choice was the $7 THE GARDEN SPRITZ- LEMON JUICE, ROSEMARY SYRUP, WATERMELON SYRUP, MUDDLED MINT & BASIL, SODA WATER! RUN DONT WALK! Lol SYOY!
