My mother was in need of a lift chair rental due to a total knee replacement surgery. She has done business with Metro-Med in the past for a total hip replacement.
Until this latest rental she would have awarded this company (5) stars, unfortunately, it is not deserved this go around. The chair my mother rented is the SAME chair rented all along. There was damage done to her front door frame when the chair was being picked up from this latest rental. Please keep in that not only is this a recurring rental but just (30) days prior this chair was brought through my mother's front door with no hang-ups with the door frame and NO PROBLEMS of ANY KIND. So they come to pick it up and can not get the chair smoothly through the door from inside to out this time. INSTEAD of stopping and wondering what is different what has changed? The same gentlemen who brought it to the home SHOVED it through the door pulling the door frame apart with it, put the chair in the truck, and left with NO ACKNOWLEDGEMENT of any kind. My mother was away at her Physical Therapy appointment so my son was at her home awaiting the company to pick the chair up. My son was NOT going to confront these men on his own. He called me within seconds of them leaving, I Iive just across the street, I was already getting in my car before they made it out of my mother's driveway. I looked at the damage, called my mom to let her know, and then immediately called the company direct which of course there was no answer because they were in route to the shop. I left a message telling them who I was that they had just left my mother's house there was damage done to her front door frame and they need to call her to rectify it. She called herself for (2) days before finally getting a return call and she was yelled at and told "good luck " trying to get us to fix this. Is this the way business is done? for such an easy resolution. At the heart of the matter, the screen door chain at the TOP of the door needed to be removed and the door would have completely opened and the chair would have just sailed through. I thought most men would know this? As I said no HESITATION as to WHAT CHANGED? had they took the time they would have seen the problem immediately, took care of it, and been on their way no problem. ALL OF THIS NONSENSE FOR THE EASIEST OF RESOLUTION! It is unfortunate. read more
