For the chicken, make sure you ask them to mix you up some spicy syrup! I tried a bacon and avocado bowl and subbed the hollandaise sauce for sausage gravy and a side of waffles. It was pretty tasty, but as I said you have to get their famous chicken and waffles, I kept seeing plates of it go out and knew I should have placed an order! I decided to expand my horizons and check out something new and I'm glad I did. I had the steak and scramble bowl, it was delicious! Everything was cooked to perfection and was delicious together. My honey enjoyed his meal as well. His grits were smooth and flavorful. The best part was the manager, I think his name was Rob. He came by to check on our meal and experience. For tonight's dinner, we decided to visit the local Metro Diner. I have had many trips to Metro Diner in the past, but this location was very favorable. They had speedy service, friendly staff, piping hot food that was fresh, clean and well-kept restrooms, and spacious seating. We ordered two pieces of Fried Fish (Ala Carte) to tide us over until our main courses arrived. We usually split a half order of Biscuits and Gravy for our appetizer, which are always wonderful! However, we wanted to try something different. Plus, we never had the Fish here yet. It was pretty decent Fish too! Our main courses were the "Iron City Meatloaf" and the "Philly Cheesesteak" dinners. The Meatloaf was not what we hoped it would be. It has a very acquired taste that some will either love, and others like myself will dislike. It was still fresh and hot, so overall quality was decent. The Mashed Potatoes with Brown Gravy and Green Beans were delicious though! I would personally not order it again, but there are many others who would. I couldn't knock it until I tried it. Personal preference differences does not mean it's a bad meal. It all depends on what your tastes are meant for. The Philly Cheesesteak was great, and the fries were crispy. Stopped in to Metro Diner to give it a try as I had never been in. Was promptly greeted as I walked in. The place was very busy for lunch. This diner is in a strip mall. My waitress, Tracy, was training someone so she introduced herself and him as well. She showed me the board where the specials of the day were written. I chose one of the specials, the California Turkey Roll. The roll had a tomato basil wrap stuffed with turkey, avocado, bacon, roasted red pepper cream cheese, red onion, and shredded lettuce. I selected broccoli for my side. Loved the wrap itself, tomato basil was an excellent choice. It was very tasty along with piping hot broccoli that was seasoned well. Tracy and her trainee checked on me as I ate and came by at the end to see if I wanted a coke to go. I said no but opted for a pumpkin spice coffee to go and there was no upcharge for that. Metro Diner is a wonderful diner in the heart of Castleton that serves an excellent breakfast menu along with lunch and dinner. My friends and I came here for breakfast after helping me move into my new place, and we were very happy with the food and customer service. I ordered the Bissell breakfast which was eggs, bacon, hash browns, pancakes, and an English muffin. It was excellent! The coffee was superb!! I always say you know it is a good diner if the coffee is terrific, and this coffee was terrific!! I would come back here just for the coffee! This seems like it's a chain restaurant but it's cute. The menu had a lot of selections and the lunch crowd was fairly good size. They are open only for breakfast and lunch Monday-Friday and then on weekend also serve dinner. It's conveniently located just outside of the Keystone Mall area and near the Nordstrom Rack store. I had the meatloaf which is a signature dish. It was pretty good. The flavor is good, the meat has an odd texture, it's more like chopped versus ground beef. And the zucchini was a great surprise initially but slightly over cooked. The waitstaff was fine, friendly. It's a casual dinner, like a mid-level restaurant. As long as you're not looking for fine dining, most people would be pretty happy here. We'd stop again for a change from the usual fare. It's a step or two up from fast food, a step up from places like Panera and Piada. And it was nice to be waited on instead of counter service. read more

I loooooove Metro. I visit almost every weekend for Sunday Brunch. The food is always spot on. The service is usually good as well. The wait time can be a lengthy (30-45 minutes) especially between 11am and 1pm but it's worth it. The food comes pretty quick and they allow you to substitute whatever. It's very busy. I wouldn't say it's the best when it comes to social distancing but if you're going to sit in, you probably aren't too concerned anyway. They have little dividers between the booths but nothing for the tables. Overall I love Metro and I'll obviously be back. read more

For breakfast, we ordered The Bissell Breakfast (two eggs scrambled, bacon, toast, and a short stack of pancakes) and the Fruity Waffle (Belgium waffle, topped with fresh blueberries, strawberry and banana slices). First time at Metro was in Daytona Beach Florida. I was encouraged to find one here and give it a try. Now the picture does not do the shrimp and grits justice but demonstrates the three stars. I had the shrimp and grits. It was tasty, well seasoned with plenty of shrimp and white gravy. However, it's a grit patty and the patty was over-cooked to the point that the grits were dry and had an unappealing crust. I also do not prefer white gravy, but it was actually good. My wife had chicken and waffles, but the chicken was very dry and no seasoning. The waffle was awesome with the strawberry butter. The Daytona location hit a home-run, but today in Indy fell short. The Philly could use a bit more cheese and was a tad dry. Some mayo may have fixed it. The fries were crispy. I asked for a side of ranch, the server dropped it on the way and never brought a replacement. Bissell breakfast- everything was cooked perfect and my fiance commented that the grits were "not as watery as some places" so I assume that's a good thing!
