I really wanted to like them, but it just didn't happen. Started off not so hot because they were late by 2 hours. I'm told one of them got into a minor car accident, but obviously I don't know if that's the case. I'm inclined to believe them though-no reason not to. Aside from that, the job they did was okay, but I wasn't that impressed. There was a lot that they missed. For example: The counter tops? Clean. The *side* of the counter tops? Not at all. Nor the cabinets, or the outside of the oven. They also pretty much skipped the bathtub save for a quick surface cleaning. If they cleaned the glass doors to the tub/shower, it was not at all obvious. They looked just as dirty as we left them-and I'd actually cleaned them a few days prior. Of course because my boyfriend had to leave and I was out getting my hair done for my birthday, we didn't get to see where they put some of our stuff. I can't find our cat brush at all and my cats are sorely in need of a good brushing. The worst thing of all? Tonight I found out that these "professionals" put my cupcake holder and a few other pots in our oven. Needless to say, the plastic part of it melted and the $24 I spent on it went down the drain. I just can't understand why people who consider themselves professional cleaners would ever leave things in the oven. With the mess they cleaned up, it was pretty obvious we use it. I've been pretty busy lately, so I haven't cooked-which is why it took me this long to notice they put stuff in the oven. I plan to call them tomorrow about getting them to replace the ruined item. Hopefully they will without issue. So yes. I am angry. It was not done to satisfaction for $120. Things looked relatively clean from far away, but when you got closer, you could see that it wasn't as clean as it looked. I don't know if I'll ever find half the stuff they moved. I forgot to add before: They do offer (looks like this is new) 24 hours in which to call and have them fix anything not done right/well, which I appreciated. Only with my family coming into town and what not, it wasn't possible for me to be around for a second cleaning, and honestly, I would've needed to be. I contacted Meticulous Maids based on the reviews written here, and especially as they were right in the neighborhood that I moved out of. Elizabeth was professional and attentive in her follow up, and allowed me to leave the keys to my apartment after I moved out. My place was larger than some other 1 Bedrooms, and I left the kitchen fridge and stove in a bit of a mess, so the extra cost ($110.00) was not unexpected. What WAS unexpected was how GREAT a job they did! The place looked spotless, and my landlord was pleased. I can expect a full return of my deposit as a result, and I would highly reccomend this organization for either move-in / move-out or regular services. read more

Meticulous Maids is everything listed here except Meticulous. They did a decent job cleaning, but I could have done better on my own. I'm glad I didn't have to. They were polite, prompt, accepted credit cards, but they did not meet my expectations. They only cleaned the top of the stove not the oven. They only got the shower mostly clean. They didn't dust the ceiling fans. The floors shined more when I buffed and polished them than after Meticulous Maids ran whatever shine dulling cleaner they used across them. They are good but I won't use them, again. I'll just clean myself the way my ma taught me to. I may recommend them to someone who needs maintenance cleaning, but for nearly $100.00, I shouldn't have to clean behind the maid. read more

Our experience with Meticulous Maids is mixed. At first, everything was fine from leaving a voicemail to set up a last minute appointment to getting a call back promptly and setting up a time. I was called the next day to push back the appointment an hour, which I appreciated rather than wait around for the maids to be late. Overall, the two women that were sent were fairly nice and did a pretty good job. They missed a few things but it happens. The problems started when the two maids arrived and did an assessment of the place to determine the rate. Beware that you are not quoted an exact price for your place as the maids take a look at what you want and then call their boss. When I made the initial appointment I was told typically one bedroom apartments are $70-$110, but since we didn't want the bedroom done and our place is rather small we were told it would be closer to $70. When the maids arrived and we asked to do the stove and fridge in replacement of the bedroom we were quoted a $100. We asked the boss on the phone why the price was so high and she said that was what she planned to charge us from my initial phone call, without the maids assessment of the apartment. So, even before adding the stove and fridge they wanted to charge us $100 for the living room, dining room, bathroom (small) and kitchen. No other business would charge us this much. I appreciated that a quote would be given after an in-house assessment but the overcharging after saying our place would be closer to $70 was frustrating. After some back and forth we were told $85 would be fine. So, when we got home a couple hours later we found that a vase my sister-in-law got my wife, that was hanging on a nail in the kitchen with flowers it it was missing. We asked the maids and they said it fell and broke and it was an accident. Not a huge deal...it sucked as this gift was from overseas and it had sentimental value but life goes on, it was an accident. The issue for us was the maids threw the broken vase (which was in pieces) in the trash and never said anything to us. They didn't tell their boss either. We got on the phone with the boss and said what happened and that we were not told and if we didn't notice right away we probably wouldn't have found out. The person on the phone was completely unhelpful and rude and said "what do you want me to do about it?", in a condescending tone. She also said "so, what, you want a discount or something?" She also insinuated that if someone was broken the maids would have told her, but, they never did and we found out just by seeing the flower on the kitchen counter. After this back and forth and all around rude tone we were given $10 off. We were also told that first time customer can only do cash or credit card. I was never told this when making the appointment and the website says checks are accepted. We did give the maids $10 cash each for a tip. The other thing that bothered us was that while we were on the phone and clearly not happy the maids said they had to go and tried to rush out and get us to forget this issue. We didn't appreciate that at all as they made it seem like we were holding them up. In the end, our place was clean and we were happy for that. We won't be using this service again but I hope they improve their customer service from start to finish. read more

Open every day presumably - I got Meticulous Maids the morning of, on a Saturday. Within an hour and a half, two cleaners arrived. They stayed for just over two hours and did a solid basic clean for $90 - sweep, vacuum and wash floors, clean counters and fixtures in the bathrooms and kitchen; dust and clean furniture and appliances in three rooms. I consider this to have been a resounding success - fast, affordable and effective at what I was looking for. Getting everything together in ninety minutes really was pretty great too - I have no expectation for securing a cleaning service last minute, and appreciate when it can happen. read more

I was looking for a service to do a "deep clean" ... 3 cats and no ability to vacuum for at least a month certainly warranted it... and wanted it to be on a weekend so I could be home. The women that came to my place were WONDERFUL. I know it was a tough project and they did a great job... I'm so happy. They even found $50 somewhere under my bed and gave it back to me!! A few things didn't get done... like ceiling fans and vacuuming couches, but I couldn't care less. I can walk around barefoot in my apartment for the first time in months! They hand washed everything that was around the kitchen and put things away the best they could. In my experience it's pretty standard practice to put oddly shaped things like cookie sheets in the oven, so I was not put off by that at all. Especially since they were clean and in the oven. :) The price ended up being $10 over the top end of the deep clean range they gave me ($85 - $140 for a 2 bedroom)... but I wasn't surprised. The fact that they didn't run out of my house screaming when they walked in was enough for me. They didn't speak much English... so they looked around, asked me to show them rooms and then called their boss who told me the price and asked if I wanted to go ahead with it. Absolutely - here's my CC number. The last time I had something like this done it was twice as much and they didn't touch one of my two bedrooms! I also appreciated the willingness to do things via email. It's tough for me to make phone calls at work where there is no cell reception... but I got quick responses to emails and scheduled everything that way.... and they were able to come out that weekend.... which means I didn't need to stay home from work for them to come AND got things clean fast. I've read so many negative reviews over the last few years about maid services and I personally have never been happy either... but with these women I was just thrilled. I'm waiting to hear back about biweekly or monthly cleaning ... which I assume will be less expensive since it's not as terrifying. On a side note: With all the "I think my maid stole xyz from me" that people go on about it was so nice to have them come and give me the $50 they found under my bed. We scheduled a cleaning at 12:30 on the day that family was to arrive to celebrate our wedding. Meticulous Maids knew that time was of the essence for this particular cleaning, but arrived almost 2 hours late! (When the maid finally arrived she did an acceptable job.) When I called Meticulous Maids, they were wholly unconcerned with the delay. A maid service should not act like the stereotypical cable guy, arriving when it wants to the inconvenience of others. Never again would I use them. Specifically, a maid was supposed to arrive between 12:30 and 1:00. She did not show until 2:30, and no one from Meticulous Maids offered the courtesy of a phone call to let us know that the maid would be late. When I called Meticulous Maids at 1:30 I spoke with the owner, Vanessa, who told us that the maid would arrive on her own schedule and that if we did not like it we could go somewhere else. Given that we were having family over that evening and needed cleaning, we acquiesced. In a follow-up e-mail sent the next day, Meticulous Maids said that the delay was only "slight" and that it was well within its rights to unilaterally change the time of a service without telling the client. (Although Meticulous Maids did not explain how it was within its rights to change these terms when it was told that time was of the essence.) read more

I just moved into my apartment and my bathroom and kitchen needed a good scrub down (I'm a bit anal retentive, so although my apartment cleaned both of these for me, I wanted to make sure they were spotless). I found Meticulous Maids on craigslist and the person on the phone was very friendly and helpful in assisting me. They were able to come clean my place in Lakeview the very next day. I used Meticulous Maids for the 1st time one month ago but it certainly won't be my last. I was able to receive service within 1 day from setting my appointment. Ivonne was ON TIME and instantly made me feel comfortable letting her into my apartment. After a 3 hour cleaning I was thrilled to see my apartment looked move- in ready all over again. Very disappointed with our most recent experience with Meticulous Maids and will not be using their services again. While we've worked them a few times in the past and are accustomed to the significant language barriers with their cleaners - we've been able to overlook that b/c of the convenient scheduling. Never again. Last week was too much ... the cleaner took it upon herself to move major furniture (i.e., a bookcase) to dust in the second bedroom and in the process left considerable scratching on our hardwood floor. When we came home to take a look at the job done, we immediately took pictures to document the scratching since it was very noticeable. We had guests in town and weren't able to get in touch with the service until Monday morning (cleaning took place on Friday). By that time, we were informed it was too late to file a complaint - they have a 24-hour policy. But, we were told we can get $10 off our next cleaning! No thanks. The scratching of the floor was just the start - dusting in the living room was half done; the kitchen and bathroom still had dirty sinks and appliances. Again, pictures were taken and sent to Meticulous Maids. That stuff I can get over. But, it's the damage done to the hardwood floor that's the hardest part to swallow - it's unacceptable that it was even attempted by the cleaner to move furniture alone on a hardwood floor. And, the fact that Meticulous Maids had no response or concern other than to offer a $10 coupon is infuriating. An absolutely terrible customer service experience. read more

Just ok, not even real good. I was happy to be able to get a cleaning crew within 2 days of my call, but that was really where the happiness ended. Two extremely young looking girls arrived on time and were friendly, but I do not speak Spanish and we had a hard time communicating with each other. They were only at my home for about 2 hours and it is a duplex with 3 bathrooms. I knew it wasn't enough time to do a great job. The vacuuming overall was poor and the kitchen floor had several missed spots. Having to provide a full roll of paper towel makes me think they are wasteful and should be using something other than that to do most of the cleaning! I would not use them again. It was also $140 for the job, which I think is reasonable only if it is really done well. read more

I recently used the Meticulous Maids service and was very pleased with the outcome. I was in desperate need of a cleaning as my in-laws were coming to visit and I had no time to clean the house. I called the service and Elizabeth was very courteous and accommodating. I was able to schedule the service with less than 48 hours notice and was able to pay with credit card (A major plus)! The cleaning was very thorough and detailed. They even cleaned my oscillating fans in my bedroom and living room! It was well worth the $90 that I paid. I found my last maid on Yelp and she was awesome but they moved out of state. So I found Meticulous Maids and hired them late August for a deep clean service of a rental home. I was specific and detailed on what I wanted done and the owner assured me no problem. I also paid extra to have the blinds cleaned. I was not able to inspect the job so the next door neighbor did so for me. My neighbor said the following: blinds, inside cabinets, stair railings, and on top of appliances still looked dirty or dusty. I called the owner and complained. Owner said they would have the cleaners stay overtime to redo the work and assured me it will get done. Owner explained the cleaners couldn't clean the blinds since they weren't removeable to wash/wipe down. My rebuttal was then why didn't they at the very least dust them!! Two days later I was able to inspect the work and I was extremely disappointed. The kitchen sink, inside cabinets, and the top stair railings were still either dusty or dirty as if they weren't even touched. I was about to call the owner again but was so disgusted by their lack of service and attention that I decided to write it off as a loss and NEVER NEVER NEVER use or refer them to anybody. I understand they have a 24hr guarantee but if they don't get it done right the first time and then again on the 2nd time....??!! read more
