Horrible company. Overcharges and constantly adds late fees, even if the bill is proven to be incorrect. They even charge you fees to pay your bill online! This is the WORST company I've ever dealt with in my life! My water/sewage bill is higher than all my utility bills combined. Something isn't right with this company. How they are legally in operation is beyond me. I feel very taken advantage of and I am still waiting for a supervisor to call me back and resolve my incorrect insanely high bill of over $400!!! Thieves. They have a horrible invoice and payment system. That actually caused to people to pay late, since it is very inconsistent who the bill the customers. There is a hoa where I live that's probably part of some kind scam. $30 late fee for a $90 bill. Really, 25 days late and you charge 30% of the bill. It sounds ilegal Monday will be filling a complain with The California Department of Financial Protection and Innovation (DFPI). They will tell me if your late fee is fairly or not. I had a tenant who was affected by Covid and could not pay Meternet bill for two months. Now Meternet wants me to pay the bill, saying I am responsible for the utility bill for the property as the property owner. Since when does a Landlord become responsible for tenants utility consumption if the Utility company was informed and had record of occupancy dates of the tenant, and tenant is responsible for utilities? They tagged on late fees, and also a Red Tag Fee of $15 on each Invoices. They charge an additional fee of $2 per statement. Their business policy is monopolistic, and almost extortionist. I will post again with an update on how they handle this. If your builder or HOA who has signed up with Meternet, be aware. read more

Run as fast as you can if your building is serviced by these animals!!!! They don't send you bills they charge you fees for everything and they don't provide to ANY proof of your water usage. When you confront them they simply say "you signed a lease saying you would pay the utilities ". You will be forced to get a lawyer involved if they are your water company so get ready!! UPDATE-So I did receive a generic reply from Felicia O'Brien who is their Operations Manager. She simply cut and pasted info as to why they feel justified in their shameful actions. The one thing she did attach to that email was something I was looking for which is copies of their charges I've been paying for from day 1...my first charge from them was a late fee for a reading they hadn't even done yet...smh I'm telling you this company banks on busy people like myself not paying attention and not asking questions. If there was a way for me to update them to a negative star I would in a heart beat! I feel like i'm getting ROBBED EVERY MONTH. These guys charge each house in my community a water base fee of $63.17 and a service fee of $9. My household of 2 is automatically paying $72.17 before we even flush a toilet! Our actual usage was less than $6 btw. Their credit card convenience fee is now $3.50. There really shouldn't be a fee since they charge us SO DAMN MUCH! Want to talk to someone over the phone to get a better explanation of your bill? They'll sound nice but beat around the bush and tell you you're using too much water. read more

This company is a COMPLETE SCAM. My wife and I moved into our new place in June. We recently just inherited a new account from the owner. And then this stupid company asked us to pay for a remaining balance from March to April (UHH ARE YOU NUTS???) So we asked them to clarify if they're sure that's our responsibility to pay ---- No reply.....until they emailed the previous account holder (Why still send the bill to them not us???) that there is a $30 LATE FEE in the account! Negligent, brainless, disorganized are not enough to describe how awful the people of this company do their job (if they ever do anything). Guys, let's all go against them by 1) Petitioning to your HOA to stop using services from a billing company like Meternet who can't do the only one job they have (handling bills) 2) Filing a complaint against them on California Public Utilities Commission website (http://www.cpuc.ca.gov/complaints/). The sewer scam is just that a scam! I have lived here for over 15 years. Why the heck has the sewer gone up over 100% in costs? The homeowners are not putting anything down the drains. I would think the over 2500 additional homes build in my neighborhood over that time period Rancho water would be charging less per homeowner as more homes share costs. Finally, the strangest thing is we are located literally on the Temecula River like 25-50 yards. This needs to be investigated for fraud! I am going to reach out to Congressman Issa and County Supervisor former mayor Washington. This is just a scam stealing money. Makes no since for over a 100% increase while gas and electric bills have actually increased only 20% in that time frame. My water is on average $8.50 my sewer fee went from $30 to $75? Then there is an admin fee $7.50? Scam theft fraud! This is worst then a used car dealership fees scams! The bill pay system is another issue as well. Rancho water leadership better investigate this issue before the class action lawyers see this post! read more

Update I called the owner and he had one of his employees reach out to me I believe her name is Devin she was very nice!!! She explained to me that my meters were running extremely high even higher than a big home with a big yard that needs watering. I explained to her it's only me and my daughter and I work a lot so we're rarely home and don't use a lot of water. She said that there must be a leak and my apartments don't know about it but she also told me the previous tenants water bill were extremely high like mine and the apartment managers basically neglect us here and don't care and just want us to pay a bill that isn't accurate. She sent me a detailed email so I can show my apartment manager explaining that my bill is incorrect and that the owner should pay the bill since he never sent me a bill in the first place and it's all unfair. I really appreciate her helping me get down to the bottom of this because my apartment manager were not helping me at all they were just giving me the run around! Glad I did it myself. Gave me a heads up an easy 30 minutes before they were going to arrive which made the window (9-11am) much easier to plan around. They were very professional and super fast. I never write reviews but after everything me and my wife went through, I felt this warranted it. We moved to our home September 2021 and was told that our water bill was through the city of Brea. We have been paying since and up until recently haven't had any issues. A few weeks ago, we received a paper mail from Meternet stating that we are in delinquency and have been charged multiple late fees. I was going to shred it thinking it was a scam but last minute decided to give them a call. It turns out that they are associated with our HOA and that they were JUST notified that we were the owners of the property and are charging us from the time we moved until now for our water. HOW does it takes 10 months for that to happen? They also lied at first and said that they have been sending bills every month only to be told a few calls later that we were just onboarded so our first bill was for May + Backdated bills. This is ridiculous to not be notified at the time we moved into our house. It is not our problem nor our fault for not sending a bill 10 months later. The customer service representative Lisa was very rude. She kept cutting off my wife whenever she asked a question as well as talked very condescending. Poor customer service and poor experience overall. We shouldn't have to pay for this when they were the ones that screwed up. I've never heard of any utility bill taking 10 months to confirm ownership of a home. This sounds like a scam to me. If you end up getting MeterNet, monitor them closely because they can be taking your money without you knowing. read more

So I decide to wait. I called at 10am I was caller number 8. I realize it's a holiday but guys, your customer service needs an improvement.
