And now, everybody is rushing to get grandfathered under the original net metering program, which SDGE hates. How dare we threaten their exploitive monopoly?! After a couple conversations and bit of back n forth on invoice I knew Clinton, Ross and his team were the guys I could trust to get the job done in time. Once contract was signed, we paid the 1st part of the invoice and was surprised to see the team at our house 3 days later with a truck full of panels and our Tesla Powerwall3!! Even more surprising was the fact these guys installed an entire 10kw system with conduit and powerwall in 1 day! So mind blown that one morning we were on the grid and later that day we were free of SDGE....WIN WIN!! Now....we are 8 days post install. The system has gotten approved and has its Permit to Operate! We have imported about $1.50 in power in over a week. We have exported about $3 in power in the same time. This company was a miracle worker in a time when we needed a miracle to get the 30% tax credit. Trust these guys....they will get your job done fast with quality and care.

For me, I value customer service and Ben provides this through the entire process. No frills quote, total price, everything broken down in written form. Details on California Rebates and Incentives were provided, and the contract and invoice were created in such a way to make any paperwork easy. There have been literally no surprises through the entire process. Even when I had to delay the installation for a few weeks, everything was re-scheduled perfectly. I received full details, product sheets, explanations of the solar panels, inverters, energy savings - even a spreadsheet showing savings over time. We had a new Main Service Panel installed and Ben took care of the quote, scheduling and install. The solar panels are from REC Group, with Enphase inverters. All products are highly reviewed and warrantied. The install team were efficient, friendly and knowledgeable. I had a total of 21 panels installed in two arrays. This was completed in 1 full day. No external cables, piping etc - they took the time to run all cables through the attic space. They even touched up paint work. The end result is excellent, two solar arrays, clean lines, matched to the shape of the roof. The Enphase app is up and running on my android and iphones. I highly recommend contacting Ben at Homegrown Energy Solutions, ask him questions, get a quote and enjoy the stress free process.

The panels they use are excellent panels with one of the best temperature coefficients (how well the panels work on the hottest days) and one of the best production ratings after 25 years with an excellent warranty. Visually, the panels look amazing and the layout looks great. The install job is clean without any clutter. These guys are detail-oriented, from the alignment of the sticker in the breaker panel to the running of the cables through my attic. Ben came for a preinspection visit and asked me how I wanted things installed. He installed my Envoy box inside my garage, ran the wires where I wanted them, and even drew up different layouts for the panels to let me choose which layout looked best.
