Lowell is a community 'gem'. He solved a long standing & very mysterious electrical challenge for us yesterday. This project started from a simple inquiry from this Yelp app and Lowell replied quickly. No confusing back n forth chats, just a can-do attitude! We couldn't be more pleased. I highly recommend this company. read more

Lowell came highly recommended. My mom has an older house with just as old electric. The exterior lights would get weird in heavy rains. This went on for about two years and then stopped working altogether. I had a couple of other companies come out for a quote - each had different approaches to repair/replace but they didn't seem confident they could fix the issue despite the cost and wanted to tear open walls and bypass existing outlets and switches. Enter Lowell. He was prompt to bid and was able to start relatively quickly. He didn't talk himself up and was realistic with expectations, but within a half hour, he found the issue and had the lights on and figured out a repair that wouldn't involve gutting plaster walls and tearing up concrete. He updated various outlets and even repaired a glitchy interior light switch. His years of experience, especially with older homes, is exactly what I was looking for and needed. And very pleasant to work with! We've had him repair some other things since and we've been super happy with the work and the costs are fair. I have a list of things I'll be calling him for as I get to them, including a probable upgrade to the panel for a car charger in the near future. Thanks Lowell!! read more

After a flood + remediation, a subcontractor that was replacing the cutout drywall covered up an existing outlet that was used by our dishwasher. We only realized it after the entire restoration project completed and we were installing our appliances. I sent out a request on Yelp at around lunch and Cabrillo Electrical responded and was at our house that afternoon. Lowell (the owner) and his son came out, and within 20 minutes they found the covered up junction box behind double drywall without any visual indicators. Amazing work! In addition, Lowell was so careful with his cuts & decisions on how to tackle the project (since there's often more than one way to solve an issue like this), I knew after the first couple of minutes that this job was going to be perfect and I could trust them. In the end, the solution was brilliant. Rather than go across several stud boxes, cut out drywall and maneuver around plumbing, they decided on flush mount boxes with EC (electrical conduit) to jump from where the covered up box was to underneath the sink where it should have been, which also brought everything up to code. Amazing work, I would hire them again in a second. It's obvious that Lowell and his sons years and years of experience, combined with his laid-back attitude, are the perfect solution for your electrical problem. Thx Lowell! read more

Lowell and the crew at Cabrillo offer very fair prices and do quality work on time and on budget.

I'd like to give Lowell 5 stars because of the quick response and above all, his honesty!! I was looking for someone to help with installing coax wiring within the walls of a brand new ADU, and he was so kind to let me know they don't typically do this service. He gave me insight as to where I could call and what to ask for when shopping around. I truly appreciate a business that isn't out there just to get every single job, but one who aims to provide the best customer service, even if that means it's not a match this time. That speaks volumes about the integrity of this business. Thank you again and best wishes to Cabrillo! read more

I would totally recommend this electrician, he responded quickly, and actually was at my house in probably a half hour after I called. I had a number of issues and he was able to solve every one of them, including a very complicated one that required him crawling around my attic. He was very informative and had a great attitude. I would totally use them again. read more

We needed two electric 220 volt heaters installed. The owner of the company came out for an estimate the same day and fair price for the work. Him and his team came out the next week and completed the project in 1.5 days as promised. Great work, knowledgeable team, and dependable...can't get better than that! read more

Did everything in 1 hour... thanks Lowell for coming today on 30 min notice, fixing the breaker, replacing two outlets, all in 1 hour flat. Fast and efficient, will use again. read more

We got so lucky with Lowell. He responded quickly, completing same day, high quality repair to a fried electrical outlet. Delays would have delayed other contractor work being done simultaneously. He and his son are honest, professional and thorough. Great value, ethical customer service. Highly recommended. read more

Just used this contractor to repair a couple of "blown" circuit breakers controlling all of our backyard electrical. This included a sound system, the electrics on a gas grill, a hot tub, fridge, heat lamps, fountain and lighting. They were the contractor that I wanted to use, but, in my haste initially chose the first one that contacted me. After realizing over the course of a weekend that the initial contractor was not going to satisfy my sense of urgency, I contacted Lowell on Monday morning. He and his son "LJ" were here that morning, analyzed the problem, had a plan to remedy it that also included making something safer and then did the work that very day. The price was reasonable and the work excellent. Both Lowell and his son were personable and approachable. They answered all of my questions patiently and candidly. read more

They were incredibly accommodating when I had an issue with the electrical in our condo. They came out right away, assessed the problem, and got me on the schedule quickly to deal with the problems. I appreciated their honest assessment and quick response time to get things done. I highly recommend them for your electrical needs. read more

Lowell fixed my panel fast and did it a solid price point, went over my concerns and explained in detail the issue and why it was happening.

This is an update to my original review. After further commumication from the owner, it appears there may have been a big misunderstanding. He claimed to have sent a quote for the project and that I never responded to it, however I careful checked and found nothing. If you ever need electrical work, photos of their previous projects for others look really professional which is why I had planned to hire the company in the first place. read more

We had an issue where some GFCI outlets malfunctioned and all the outdoor ports were not working. Bad timing since that meant we had no working Christmas lights! I got quotes and availabilities from several electricians on Yelp and went ahead with Cabrillo due to their availability. The Cabrillo team was on time per schedule and was able to quickly diagnose the problem. They fixed the malfunctioning outlets and also future proofed the outdoor outlets by adding weather resistant ports. I have more electrical projects in mind, that I will certainly reach Cabrillo; post pandemic. And did I say, they wore masks! Thank you Cabrillo team! read more

Lowell and LJ came to the house right on time and diagnosed the issue promptly then went about repairing more than we realized was not working. They were fast, super helpful and the price was fair. I'd definitely recommend them! read more

This is my second time with them and their service as again outstanding. I had my old water heater replaced by a plumber and once the plumber was done he could not get the new water heater to work. He called me and said it's not working and left. Lowell's (Cabrillo electric's) name popped up on my mind the very next moment and I knew he will be able to fix the problem. I immediately gave a call to Lowell. He was at a grocery store shopping but he assured me that he will be at my home in an hour and will diagnose. As promised Lowell showed up, diagnosed and fixed the issue and got the new water heater working. A million stars to Cabrillo electric. They are honest , customer focused hard working people. read more

Lowell and his son answered my yelp request for an electrician as soon as I posted it. After the AC technician diagnosed that the problem is not the AC but the circuit breaker- Lowell came and fixed it quickly. We had a heat advisory and we were all dying of heat.. so he was quick to fix my issue. They came back the next day to change the circuit breaker for a newer model since the one the condo came in with is really old. Upfront pricing- Lowell and his son arrived early in the morning and worked until 2pm without a break! I'm very satisfied with their work and I'm happy to be able to find an honest electrician since I'm a single Mom. I highly recommend Cabrillo Electric if you ever need services of a certified electrician. read more

Cabrillo Electric - Electricians Near Me

Very happy and job well done by Father and Son team. A portion of my house randomly went out, so we needed an electrician to come out and help. I spoke to about 4 different companies and decided to go with Cabrillo Electric. Lowell was very communicative and straight forward with pricing over the phone. They worked quickly and even gave us some other advice about things we could do to improve our home. We will definitely use them in the future for any sort of electrical needs and highly recommend you do too! Thanks again for the quick, friendly and honest service. read more

I can't enough good things about Cabrillo Electric. I found them on Yelp this morning (Sunday) when I woke up to the nice surprise of my kitchen outlets not working at a time when we had a house full of guests. Lowell responded quickly to my request for a quote, and was at my house within about 30 minutes from our first time speaking. All said, it took him about an hour to resolve our issues, and held to his quote. Lowell will be the first person I call for any electrical projects going forward. Top notch guy! read more

Quick response on a Sunday, they where able to get me going with my electrical panel. Highly recommended read more

I told them that my house had been broken in and tampered. They waited after for a long time which usually means I am not going to get help for my tampered with probably stolen wiring work in my recently all permitted restored home. The owner dismissed all my concerns that the wiring was done during break ins, fire hazard for one, not to code, and obviously done for nefarious purposes tapping into my cameras and just looks bad with unmatching and cockeyed plates, switches, and outlets, weird texture, wiring poked through supporting structures in basement... They knew my discomfort with the blue van neighbor who had a record waiting to talk to all the vendors after they were done with my call. The man with the record has been given favors by some of the scary cops that have been changing my neighborhood for the bad. read more

Lowell and his son arrived early and were able to diagnose the GFCI issue quickly, and took the time to describe what was going on. Also, they did a minor wiring change so 2 GFCIs would operate separately. Much appreciated. read more

Lowell Sr. reached out immediately after my previous review to make our situation right. It appears that we may have had a technology issue. He and Lowell Jr. came over ASAP to inspect the load center, try some fixes and explain options. I felt very confident in their expertise and they explained things in laymen's terms. It says a lot about their integrity that they turned this into a positive situation and we really appreciate the work that they did today. I recommend their services and will definitely use them again. read more

Great team and very responsive to a quick callout. Would definitely use Cabrillo again!

Lost power when changing the light in our ceiling fan. My husband called and they came out the next morning when we wanted ( they didn't charge more because it was a weekend either). The father and son team figured out quickly what the problem was a fixed it. They even helped us hang up the replacement ceiling light fixture. They answered all our electrical questions we had about our condo too. They were very prompt, professional and their rates are very reasonable. They didn't try to run up the price by spending extra time trying to diagnose the problem. We highly recommend using them and will definitely call them for our future electrical needs. read more

This father and son team are rockstars with all things electrical. I had a home remodel done and had Cabrillo Electric do some electrical work around the house.
