I hired Jeremy Beauvarlet from Redfin after interviewing a total of five agents. Jeremy was by far…read moreheads and shoulders above the rest. His knowledge of the market was impressive. But most impressive was his comparative market analysis. He dug down into the specifics of each comp compared to mine so we could maximize price. And maximize we did. All the other agents recommended a price anywhere from $50k to $30k less than Jeremy. I would have left a lot of money on the table if I had listened to them. We priced my house aggressively, $100k more than anything else had sold for in the neighborhood. But I had a superior view lot with direct canyon access and a home in pristine condition. We were in escrow within a week for above asking price. Many agents will say you don't get the same service from Redfin because it's a discount agency. I only paid 1% to them instead of 2% or even 3%. But the service I received was better than full price firms. I have bought and sold 14 houses in the last 15 years so I know great service when I see it. I think real estate is agent specific so I can't speak about any other Redfin agents. But Jeremy is the cream of the crop at what he does. My total commission was 1% to Redfin and 2% to the buyers' agent for a total of 3%. Why anyone would pay more than 3% or 3.5% is beyond me. You won't get any better service and you will save thousands and thousands of dollars.

DONT GO WITH THEM. They removed and threw out my $4000 curtains and blinds, and when I complained, replaced them with $20 cheap-ass curtains from Target! Nothing against target, but cmon! Anyway, I ended up firing them and getting a real agent who, while expensive, was at least interested in selling the property.
