I scheduled a "free consult" from a highly reviewed 5 star "eviction expert" on google and when it came time for them to call me as they told me they would at a specific time. They never called. 5 stars my behind, I even tried calling them to follow up but it went straight to a machine that went no where. Then I remembered contacting Mr Michael Smith a year or so ago and he had answered my text message with in a few minutes and it didn't change this time around when I attempted to contact him again. We were on the phone with in a few minutes and I was giving him all the details with in the next hour. He was upfront about pricing, disclaimers, and any info that was relevant, Answered all my questions. This guy is the real deal. I will keep Mr Michael Smith's number and will contact him again for any future landlord / tenant disputes.

He took the time to explain everything clearly and made the process much easier to understand. Even as the case stretched on for months, we were never forgotten. Michael remained responsive, organized, and kept us informed as we moved from the initial filings through judgment, the Writ of Possession, and ultimately regaining possession of the property. I really appreciated Michael's guidance and straightforward approach throughout a difficult process and would highly recommend his services to other landlords dealing with an eviction.

I had a tenant move in who brought two dogs with them after responding to my For Rent ad…read morespecifically stating "No pets." They filled out an application which spelled out no pets. When moving in, I looked them both in the eyes and said "You understand their are no pets allowed" and they both said "Yes." Weeks later, the gardener mentioned that there were 2 dogs in the house. I asked how he knew. "Big poops and small poops in the yard." When I tried to discuss this with the tenant, they demanded I stay away from the house or they would get a high powered lawyer. I have every right to enter the house as long as I give legal notice. The relationship went downhill from there. I found Rachel Callahan here on Yelp. Since I live 100 miles away, everything was done by phone and email. She was INCREDIBLY fast and efficient. She filed all paperwork and QUICKLY got a judgement as the tenants never responded. The judgement gave me possession of my property back and included over $5,000 in rent and costs. Every time her firm sent me a bill, I paid within minutes because I loved what they were doing. AND, it was extremely reasonable for the work she did. I now have fantastic tenants in the house but if there's any trouble, you bet I'll call Rachel. THANKS FOR THE GREAT WORK!

UPDATE: After posting my review, I received an email from Rachael personally attacking me and…read moresaying that I should be "embarrassed and ashamed." She also claimed that I authorized a service I "could not afford." To be clear, my ability to pay was never the issue. The issue is that I dispute the $799 invoice, I never signed an agreement authorizing that amount, and I was unable to speak with a supervisor or manager despite requesting to do so. I even offered $350 in good faith for the time they spent, but instead of receiving a professional response, I received personal insults and intimidating comments about facing "consequences." This review describes my own documented experience. I have preserved the emails and communications supporting everything stated here. Dan, is a great attorney and guy. We had an issue with our landlord, and Dan helped us out. Even…read morewhen the landlord tried to run up our bill by calling a bunch of times, and sending a half dozen emails in an hour; to the point that Dan had to tell his office to stop answering the phone if they thought it was him, and auto-replying to spam from the landlord. Dan was understanding and reasonable about the resulting charge, which was much lower than what he could have charged. He did actually talk to the landlord for 30 minutes, and then the landlord acted like none of that conversation took place. Yes, I'm a professional just like Dan so I understand the need for charges for work rendered. He could have easily charged us for all the spam and phone calls the landlord sent in a childish attempt to shoot up the charges, and the time it took for Dan's office to answer the phones. I blame the landlord for those and not Dan. Dan helped us come up with a plan to deal with the landlord, and what to do in handling the landlord in the future. We came up with a game plan as it were to deal with the landlord. I would recommend Dan to anyone needing a lawyer to deal with tenant issues or real estate. The charges are reasonable, especially when you consider the amount of work it takes to become an attorney, and the overhead they have to maintain for their office. The quality of his work is great, he's knowledgeable of the law, and his demand letters are very concise and worded well.

But time and time again he ignored us and did nothing for our case. We hired him March of 2025 and as of August of 2026 we have absolutely ZERO to show for it. We've already found a new lawyer to work with us and no longer need Tenant Defenders but I am writing this review as a warning. Legal work does take time but not a year and a half. I contacted him many times over this period and was always told he was busy and just "needed a week" just to be met with silence. DO NOT HIRE.

Being a new customer and the first time renting our my home I researched different rental property…read morecompanies. After doing my research we decided to go with Good Life and I am so glad we did they made the process very easy. Malissa Martinez was my onboarding point of contact and I have to say she was very attentive, responsive and professional. She answered all my questions and kept me informed the next steps in the process. Emails came in daily with the updates that had been completed at my home in order to be put on the market. After that my property managment team consisted of Andrei Lechert- Kelly, Gerald Medalla and CJ Flores. Again, more professionalism with this team. Once the property was ready and we agreed on the rental price my home was listed on a Wednesday and by that weekend, Saturday, we have the home rented. It's been 5 months and I have no complaints. They have really taken care of everything and I haven't had to worry about a thing since. Highly recommend Good Life. 10 outta 10.

UPDATE 9/22: Unfortunately, the pattern described in my original review has continued…read more The washer identified as needing repair before my lease began was never successfully repaired despite four service appointments. After nearly two months without a usable washer, I ultimately replaced it myself rather than continue waiting. Good Life provided a $500 credit for the prolonged loss of use and my time dealing with the issue. The refrigerator remained unable to properly cool for two weeks, despite two unsuccessful repair appointments. After continued delays, I escalated the issue to Good Life's CEO and ultimately found a technician myself who was willing to come out over the weekend. A part was replaced and the refrigerator eventually began cooling. I was told compensation for the two weeks without functioning refrigeration would be discussed after the repair, but I have not received that compensation. On September 11, I reported that the A/C was not cooling. Later that day, water began coming through a ceiling vent onto the upstairs bathroom floor. I contacted the emergency maintenance line regarding the active leak and received no response. I cleaned up the water and placed a pan beneath the vent to contain the continuing leak. An HVAC technician came the following morning and found a frozen coil and failed safety switch. I was told further work required management approval. As of September 22, the A/C/water-leak repair has still not been completed. What has been most frustrating is not that things have broken. It is the repeated delays, unsuccessful service appointments, lack of follow-through, and the amount of responsibility I have had to assume myself to get significant maintenance problems addressed. My concerns also extend to a property owner's perspective. An active water leak has the potential to cause additional property damage, yet my emergency maintenance report received no response and the repair remains incomplete. I would expect a property management company to respond promptly to significant maintenance issues, coordinate the appropriate professionals, and follow through until repairs are actually completed. Unfortunately, my experience over the first three months of this tenancy has shown a recurring pattern of significant maintenance issues requiring repeated follow-up and escalation before reaching resolution--if they reach resolution at all.
