They test depth perception, color perception, eye pressure with the air shooty thing, measure your pupillary distance, dilation and do refraction. Turns out that my current prescription was too strong. That's what you get when you rush eye care. So, Dr Joe gave me a new prescription. I won't be going back to my other doc... this went way too smooth and was actually accurate. Only thing I would have preferred was to be given some sunglass inserts after dilation. I wasn't offered any, but would have gladly taken them. So, bring your sunglasses in or remember to ask if they have any... so you don't get hit by a car or something. While the office is quite small, the people were personable and set a pleasant tone making my visit an overall good experience. Dr. Gupta was professional and efficient in administering my eye exam. She explained everything and allowed me to test the new prescription before I updated my glasses which was exteremely reassuring. We did have some problems with my husband's Feb 31st glasses that were special ordered from the company. They took almost three months to get in and then broken twice due to problems with manufacturing, so they were out of his possession for several months. As a gesture of good faith, Spencer and Lisa offered both of us a free pair of glasses of our choice. We decided on Lindberg for my spouse and Iyoko Inyake for myself, and they paid for my husband's lenses as well. They totally didn't need to give me a free pair of glasses but I certainly wasn't going to turn them down. He was also able to keep the Feb 31st glasses when they were manufactured correctly, and due to the repeated manufacturing errors, the owner of Feb 31st was generous enough to give us a pair of free glasses as well. We haven't had a problem with the Feb 31st glasses since and it has been almost a year since the problem was rectified. Lisa and Spencer went well above and beyond to ensure our satisfaction, and all their products are warrantied. They have gained two loyal customers for life, so I would definitely recommend them to others. On a side note, the store is extremely dog friendly. I brought my dog on a car ride to pick up my glasses and Lisa encouraged me to bring her in even though I was worried she might have an accident due to repeated urinary tract infections. I'm so happy with my purchase from here and would highly recommend this place to anyone! I love wearing my glasses at night while I'm getting ready for bed so that I can fall asleep easier. The glasses do a fantastic job at blocking blue light. And they look great too! I now have a regular pair of glasses for everyday use and an amber-tinted pair that I wear before bed every night. After doing some comparison shopping, I find their prices are quite reasonable and competitive, and they stand behind their work. One time I went in with a new prescription and wanted new lenses in my old frames as well as a whole new frame/lens combination. I asked to have transition lenses in both frames. I guess I didn't know enough about transition lenses to realize that they darken on cloudy days as well as sunny days. After having them for a couple weeks, I was very frustrated and decided I wanted regular lenses in one pair, so I went back to Gerry and they changed exchanged the lenses at no extra cost to me. Another thing...I've recently been obsessively shopping for new frames, really wanting to change my look. I have been to dozens of optical shops around the KC metro and even Lawrence, Kan. I'm amazed that some shops have hardly any mirrors and terrible lighting. Are you kidding me? I would think that big, well lit, accessible mirrors would be standard at optical shops, but apparently not. The Gerry stores are designed so you can actually see what you're looking at as you make a decision about what you'll be wearing on your face every day.

So one morning I popped into the new location on Pflumm. I was so impressed with what they'd done with that building. Of course, their eyewear selection was still amazing. The staff were friendly and informative, just as they had been 5 years ago.
