I first went to see Dr. Gupta in 2014 and didn't have a negative experience then, but I wasn't impressed either. I only went to Pearl Vision where Dr. Gupta practices because it's close to my house.
In 2015, I went to see her again for an eye check and to get glasses prescription and contact lens prescription. She sent me home for contact lens fitting with wrong power. I called and the office said they will check with her and order me a new set to try on. The 2nd time I picked up contact lens - they were still wrong. When I went back to her office the next weekend, she tried so hard to convince me to buy contact lens from her even though they were more expensive. I did my homework and I showed her what others were selling for. She didn't care and came up with reasons that didn't make sense to me but she was so persistent. I surrendered and ordered contact lens from her. However, she tried to charge me more at check out. I called her out and she argued with me. She couldn't do MATH and was using a calculator - calculated the price wrong at least three times. Both me and my boyfriend are engineers and we were so unimpressed with the way she was acting as a sale person and seeing that her hands were shaking while using a calculator. Before I left, she only gave me contact lens prescription and I had to ASK for spectacle prescription even though I paid for it. Honestly, I just lost trust in her and swear I was not going back there.
2016 - The prescription I got in 2015 has an expiration year of 2018 and it has Dr. Gupta signature so I ordered a pair of glasses from a place in Oak Park Mall. However, I felt dizzy and disoriented. I wanted to have Dr. Gupta make sure everything is okay since this is my first time with glasses. I called and went into the office and the lady in the store kept saying I ordered glasses after the prescription expired. I told her how can it be expired when my prescription said 2018 and it has Dr. Gupta signature. The lady excuse was that it is a glitch in the computer system. So the doctor wanted me to pay for another eye exam for her mistake on my prescription???!!! Yes. That's what she wanted. No way in hell I am going to pay her for her mistake. She costed me time and money and she didn't even care enough to come out and talk to me in person. She walked in and out of her office and there were NO customer!!! The front desk lady said the typo is probably because "the doctor had a long day". As an engineer, that is NOT an acceptable excuse. I can't say "oh, I was having a long day so I calculated the structural capacity wrong and therefore the building fell down and yeah, your daughter died." Oh and no SORRY either. I'm supposed to just suck it up. In the phone earlier with the lady in the office, she came up with an excuse that I didn't order eye glasses with them so they won't do anything for me. So selfish. No customer service at all. So now, I am stuck with eye glasses that give me a headache, wasted money on the lens with wrong power, and wasted time in Dr. Gupta office. Please believe me. Don't go there. Check rating on the doctor. She is really terrible. The entire office is not helpful at all. read more
