If you're looking for incredible paella catering in the Bay Area, Mestizo Paella is absolutely the best choice!! After experiencing another paella caterer here in the bay area which left me underwhelmed, I started researching and came across Mestizo Paella. From my first conversation with Angee, I knew I was in good hands. She was friendly, knowledgeable, attentive, and made the booking process so easy. We hired them for my husband's birthday party and WOW, they exceeded every expectation. They arrived on time, were organized and professional, and the food was phenomenal. We ordered tapas, three different paellas, and sangria, and every single dish was a hit with our guests. The garlic shrimp was unforgettable, the croquetas were perfectly crispy and cheesy, and the paellas were packed with flavor and generous portions of seafood and meats. The seafood paella especially had everyone going back for seconds and thirds! Even the sangria tasted authentic and refreshing. What made the experience even better was how warm and friendly Angee, Christian, and Oscar were with all of our guests. People are still talking about the food days later, and many even asked to take leftovers home! Thank you to the entire Mestizo Paella team for making our party such a success. I highly recommend them and will definitely book them again for future events! read more

We had Mestizo Paella cater our wedding and was it a hit amongst the 100+ guests we had. It was a perfect blend of Filipino and Spanish cooking, and the food was absolutely delicious. Angee and Christian are the most delightful people as well. From the sangria, to the tapas, to the main course of paella, everything was phenomenal. My only gripe is that they don't have an actual restaurant and they're not on the Peninsula! read more

This place has some smashing paella. They catered at my workplace and there were vegetarian (artichokes, mushrooms, peas, chickpeas, green beans) and signature (chicken, beef, pork, shrimp). It was extremely tasty and well-done. The food itself was very good. The reason I gave it only three stars is because the execution was poor. The vegetarian paella came out first, which I got, but the signature paella was nearly 45 minutes late. When my co-workers finally received their signature paella, it was piping hot-- surely had been just freshly made. With some better timing to go with this delicious food, I'd be able to give it a higher rating. read more

Angee and Christian are lovely people who make delicious food. They hosted us for a tasting and we immediately felt like we were part of their family. Angee communicated well and made me feel extremely confident that my wedding would go off without a hitch. When the event itself came, they made some of the most delicious paella I have ever had, and they were the highlight of the wedding. Thank you Mestizo! read more

We hired Mestizo Paella for our daughter's birthday party and HIGHLY recommend! Angee was so easy to work with before the event with menu and guest count changes. Christian and Oscar were so friendly during the party. All our guests loved the paella. They showed up on time and everything was stress free. Will definitely be working with them again! read more

I been following them for sometime and finally got to try them at the 626 night market. I had really high hopes but I was a little disappointed. I got the OG and it was packed w meat! Chorizo and chicken. Loved the corn and peas in it! Great ratio of everything. Came w 4 breaded shrimp- not a fan of the breaded part. It was $30 a plate!!!! Def not worth it! I wouldn't come back. Def worth a try but that's it. Some parts of the rice were uncooked and hard and it kinda lacked a little flavor than what other paella in use to. That garlic aioli tho!!! Elite. read more

We had our summer afternoon party catered by Mestizo Paella. The food, service and everything was exceptional. Their appetizers were also delicious and unique. The cooking demonstration of Paella making was fun. We have a backyard party of over 60 people and plenty of food left over. I highly recommend Angee and Christian to cater your event. read more

We recently had Mestizo Paella over in Alamo, CA for a backyard Holiday Paella Party. We worked with Angee on the quote & met her husband Christain at the event. Together, they cooked, served, & cleaned up after. Our friends enjoyed the food. We had their Signature Paella, Seafood Paella, Chicken Empanada, Patatas with their awesome sauce. For dessert, we had their Churros. I liked how they responded quickly via text on the date availability, and then we continued on email till the day of the event. This is a husband and wife team with a story behind the food. Highly Recommend! read more

On my final Pastel order, I added an item from here on the recommendation of a friend who tried their vegetarian version of their signature dish. I decided to try their signature paella (https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=pgAeevKcCIFraMycZkpX8Q&userid=saJuyv784apZzH--psHZ3Q), which comes with pork, chicken, Spanish chorizo, and shrimp. Contrary to their instructions (https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=5raJgmn6o-IVrTrEbNqKHA&userid=saJuyv784apZzH--psHZ3Q) as I do not like using a microwave, I placed it in a baking pan, added a few drops of water, and covered it with foil. I baked it for 20 minutes at 350F and here's how it turned out (https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=QlqQ9cXvR2pCNWhSmiHBUg&userid=saJuyv784apZzH--psHZ3Q). I squirted the lemon juice and dipped the various proteins into the provided aioli and had this for dinner. It was delicious flavor wise and definitely generous with the pork, chicken, Spanish chorizo, and shrimp (five or six tail-on deveined ones). I could only finish half of it since I paired it with a bowl of soup. There were some bits of rice that were crunchy, one of my favorite parts of having paella at a restaurant, scraping the crispy rice from the pan. Kudos to Mestizo for making a quality product that's easy to reheat at home. I really enjoyed this and would definitely order this again. read more

Hands down, BEST paella in town. I first discovered them in November 2020 + have been ordering from them since. Their paellas are delicious. I have tried the meat lovers, seafood, negra, Valencia con pollo and signature paellas. Personally, the signature is my favorite. Their paellas are so flavorful, have a generous amount of protein, and the perfect rice crust. Their pollo al ajillo and tortilla de patatas appetizers are also yummy. I can't wait to try the other items on their menu. Most recently, we asked Angee + Christian to cater our twin's birthday. The 80cm paella pan was definitely the highlight of our food spread. Everyone raves about how good it was. Angee was easy to communicate with, friendly, professional and on time. I look forward to working with them again. Thank you for making our boys' birthday memorable. read more

I have been lucky enough to work with Mestizo Paella to cater daughter's birthday 2 times. These guys are very easy to work with and provide amazing food and service at a fair pricing. We love the squid ink, mixta, and vegetarian paella. We also loved the all meat paella. On top of catering for my daughter's bdayI recommended these guys during my work department conference and they worked really hard behind the scene to meet all our landlord's needs as far as permit is concerned. Chef Christian led an interactive paella cooking class and everyone absolutely loved it. read more

Where do I start?! First off, Angie and Christian were beyond amazing to work with. Friendly, accommodating, flexible, and professional! They bring an exceptional talent and passion to their cooking and it absolutely shows in every dish they make. My wife and I lost count of how many guests at our wedding complimented their delicious Paella! We loved that they were local and that the cooking was authentic and personal. As an added plus, Angie was a wedding planner so she had a great ability to integrate her catering service into our wedding in a seamless manner. Thanks so much Angie and Christian for catering our wedding! You both made it so special!! Highly recommend. read more

So glad we found Mestizo to cater our wedding back in Aug 2023! Hands down one of the easiest vendors we worked with and they executed everything to the tea! The food of course was BOMB. They provided our appetizers, main courses AND they were super accommodating in providing dirty dogs at our request :) To this day we have guests who will bring up how good the food was and how full they were lol. The sweetest couple and the most delicious food. Will definitely be booking them for upcoming events! read more

I found Mestizo Paella on Instagram. We were looking at Hawaiian-ish food local pop ups and saw that they were one of the vendors at a pop up that we were going to attend. I love Paella and had been wanting to host a Paella Party for my besties. We went and tried their paella it was good enough to hire them to caterer my Summer Solstice- post Covid party, YAY! The paella was 10x BETTER than what we had at the pop-up. My guests loved it and really enjoyed talking with Christian about the process and is journey in catering Paella. We had the Signature and Vegetarian Paella. We had lots of leftovers due to last minute guest cancelations... worked out great for the rest of my guests cuz there were plenty of left over for people to take home. I would definitely hire them again for another party. Christian was very personable and and the timeline given to me was spot on for planning eating time. Oh! He also offers a Garlic Aioli that is bomb with the Paella! read more

Angee and Christian make some of the most delicious paella I've had in the bay. Their garlic aoli also insane. I want to eat it with everything!! Meat lovers is the household favorite, but my personal fave is the paella negra. Now that they're doing more events and catering, I want to see if I can get an office party organized with them. read more

Huge fan of Angee and Christian, the owners, and what they're cooking. Their recipes are handed down from within the family and come from Spain, and they're delicious!! Highly recommend trying any of their paellas (best I've ever had, even reheated the next day) - the garlic sauce they make is insanely flavorful. Great for catering, too! They cool in the huge paella pans right in front of you. I've seen they do a lot of corporate events on Instagram. read more

This review is long overdue. If you guys ever need food catered for an event or party, Mestizo Paella is a must try. We had Mestizo Paella cater my dad's surprise 70th birthday and man was the food delicious. We got the Signature Paella, Paella Negra, Pollo y Pollo Paella, Garlic Shrimp, Iberico Ham Croquettes, Garlic Chicken Wings and Pork Belly Bites. I've never been so happy to have left overs after a party. Everything tasted amazing. The best part of Mestizo Paella is that not only is their food so tasty, but Angee and Christian are amazing people as well. They are easy to communicate with and just overall good people. read more

It is not even close to the taste of a paella and it is expensive, price-quality ratio = 0. Disappointed
