We used Jasmine catering for our wedding at Piedmont Community Hall. Hiring Jasmine was probably the best decision we made in the planning process! The food was plentiful, flavorful, and beautifully presented and served. We had guests complimenting us on the food and drinks all night, with many telling us it was the best food they have every had at a wedding! Crowd favorites were the chicken satay sticks, the walnut chicken, and eggplant terrine, but everything there tasted incredible. The tables were also beautifully arranged. In addition to the excellent food and service the day of the wedding, the planning process was so smooth with Oded. We hired Jasmine Catering for our July 2022 wedding at Brazilian Room in Tilden Regional Park, and 10/10 recommend working with them. MANY of our guests came up and told us that this was the best wedding food they had ever had. We agree! We couldn't believe our luck when we were doing tastings and the most affordable option was also the most delicious. Then we just hoped that it would scale well from a 2-person tasting to a wedding dinner for 100+. It definitely did. Oded is the consummate professional, and everything was delicious and fresh-tasting. We selected the pomegranate chicken and eggplant terrine for entrees - many guests commented on how tender and juicy the chicken was, and we heard from several folks that don't usually like eggplant that even they loved the eggplant terrine. Furthermore, thanks to Oded's flexibility and ease of accommodation, there were several vegan/non-dairy/gluten-free people who thanked us for having such delicious options available to them that Oded provided portions of on request. We can't recommend Jasmine Catering enough! We recently had a wedding at the Brazilian Room and Jasmine Catering was on the list of food vendors. We were going for a lower-budget wedding, and found that not only was Jasmine Catering affordable, but that the food and service was high quality! We met with Oded for a free tasting about 6-7 months before the wedding. He kindly wrote notes about our concerns (we wanted to have enough food for a family of big eaters!) and helped us to decide on our menu, including having self-serve guacamole and chips during cocktail hour. We went with the Mexican-style menu to reflect how my husband and I met and bonded over tacos and good Mexican food. On the day of, everything was perfect. The tables looked beautiful, the transition from ceremony to reception went smoothly, and the passed hors d'oeuvres and reception buffet were a hit. So many of our guests loved the food and raved about it! We also appreciated that his staff always checked in on us as the bride and groom to make sure that we were eating (we weren't because we were in so many conversations) and that we had a chance to try the alcohol we provided-- they came by often to serve us appetizers and they prepared our food for us. Oded is simply the best, and choosing Jasmine Catering for our wedding was probably the single best decision we made in our wedding planning process. We originally decided to go with Jasmine because of how many unique vegetarian options they offered, and the food was absolutely incredible -- hands down the best meal I've ever had at a wedding and better than most restaurant meals I've had recently. We had passed appetizers and a buffet-style dinner with pistachio-crusted salmon, vegetable orzo, salad, and eggplant tagine, all of which were cooked perfectly and were so delicious! We got non-stop compliments from our guests about the food and how friendly the catering staff were. The whole team were very helpful throughout the night. Oded himself is very kind and humble and went above and beyond to make sure our wedding went smoothly. We didn't have a wedding planner, so he patiently and quickly responded to lots of emails from me to answer questions about the venue and confirm details about the wedding timeline. He was also extremely flexible and accommodated lots of quirky DIY elements we included as part of our wedding day, and came early to unlock the venue himself because he knew I was anxious about getting everything set up in time. We used Jasmine Catering for a wedding reception at the Brazilian Room and were very pleased! Everyone said the food was delicious, especially the chicken skewers and tuna tartare. We also had vegan stuffed mushrooms, almond crusted salmon, beautifully colorful orzo pasta, healthy vegan ratatouille and Mediterranean salad. Oded customized our menu to contain vegan options at our request. The staff was very polite and accommodating, especially Christine, who had a beautiful French accent (I think!) and I believe she was the lead. Oded also had very good input into the order of events which I needed help deciding upon and was accommodating to take the apple cider off my hands 2 days before because I would not have room in the car the day of. Oded was also very responsive via e-mail. It was good thing Oded was so familiar with the venue that he even knew about the sound system because we had some issues at first. The only thing I would suggest is to be sure to talk over the floor plan carefully with Oded if you have time, or do a very detailed e-mail explaining it. I did a drawing and I guess it wasn't entirely clear, which is my fault for not making sure. I had asked for an umbrella to cover the Guestbook table so the hostesses there (friends of ours) would not be in the direct sun for a long time. There were umbrellas on the patio as I had asked for yes, but none were providing shade to the Guestbook table. I was not present while guests were arriving (I was in a photo shoot off-site) so I did not see this and would not have known about it had not one of the Guestbook hostesses commented on it to me after the event was over. Oded. We love Oded. I'm a wedding photographer as a profession, so I've worked and attended hundreds of weddings. Oded met with us for a taste test and was very humble and sweet. He shouldn't be so humble... the food was excellent. I'm not a vegetarian, but his eggplant dish was so awesome that I requested that as my dinner (as the groom). I stepped outside during the evening to get some air and chat with friends, and the first thing I heard was "the chicken was awesome", then "the eggplant was awesome", then "the salmon was awesome". My husband and I work with Jasmine catering (Oded, the principle chef) for our wedding in March of 2016. I would 100% recommend these services to anyone looking for wedding or other event catering. We found Jasmine catering serendipitously, well I was getting my hair done and my hairdresser was telling me about her wedding. Because the company doesn't have as many reviews, they didn't come up during our extensive Yelp and WeddingWire research, but after hearing from her personally, we knew we should contact them. Thank goodness! We had contacted dozens of different catering companies and although it seemed each of them could have offered something great, the whole package wasn't there. Either they were too expensive, or they charged additional fees for services such as cake cutting, bottle opening fees, or weren't responsive, etc. When we began emailing with jasmine catering, Oded was responsive, not pushy, and very fairly priced (we paid approx $35 pp for 4 different passed appetizers, am amazing buffet course, and no additional fees for wine, kegs, or serving our own dessert). We were able to hold a tasting beforehand and that is what cemented the deal. Aside from Oded's great "tableside manner" (calm, collected, and with a "can-do" smile), the food was also phenomenal and flavorful. We emailed with Oded in the weeks coming up to the wedding and he was patient throughout dozens of emails, changes for requests of items, or other issues that we were worried about. He also worked very well with our venue, Piedmont Community Hall, and very gently but firmly took over the process of sending them our floor layout plans and taking the time to meet with us beforehand at the venue so we could ensure a smooth day. The day of the wedding was great, Oded and his staff worked well with our two coordinators to set up decorations and prepare for a beautiful ceremony site. He and his staff were professional both in demeanor and dress, and the food was phenomenal, there was also more than enough for our 175 guests. They cleaned up extremely well, helping ensure that we got our deposit from the venue back and overall they were such a pleasure to work with. Quite possibly one of the single best decisions I made within the entire wedding planning process. From start to finish working with Oded and Jasmine Catering was a dream. Oded was kind, and overly accommodating. He was gracious with me when I had to do a both a venue and menu change and came up with a fabulous generous hors d'oeuvre offering for my wedding party of 90 people. His food is mind-blowingly delicious. I am not exaggerating here. My wife and I asked Jasmine Catering to do our wedding on July 16th, 2018. My goodness, from start to finish everything went incredibly smooth. We first tasted their food at an open house at The Brazilian Room and their prices were beyond reasonable. So we decided to pick them. Very glad we did. Oded (chef/owner) was so easy to work with. They offered many prefixed menus but also allowed us to customize a special menu. We ended up doing 3 appetizers, salad, pasta, and a Italian sausage. It was delightful. They arrived at the venue promptly, had everything setup efficiently and we did not have to worry about anything at all. The food itself was delicious. My sister, who is a professional food writer, walked up to my wife at one point with one of the appetizers and said, "This is a perfectly cooked piece of chicken." Fantastic! Jasmine Catering was selected from the approved caterers list to cater a wedding to be held at Brazilian room at Tilden. It was the responsiveness of chef/founder, Oded, which impacted our choice. He responded to our emailed questions quickly, thoroughly, and with a kindness too rarely found. Jasmine was ultimately contracted for the 80 person wedding. Family arrived early with boxes of decorations. Some of the staff was also awaiting facility unlock and generously insisted on helping us unload. Staff continued to impress us looking for ways to help like directing other services, running down items to help in our decorating, and always serving with genuine good attitudes. The setup was crisp and neat. The bar staff was especially friendly helping our guests with any and all concerns. The 80 guests were served trays of appetizers right on time by smiling, attentive staff. At meal time, the buffet style served food was not only attractive to the eye, steaming hot, but completely flavorful and delicious. The Food He was willing to pick up a copy of a traditional Persian cookbook from us and study certain recipes, which are not easy but are used for such an occasion, and he repeated them beautifully. Meat dishes of beef kabab and chicken pomegranate stew were tender, and moist with delicious yogurt sauces and fresh herbs. The salad Shirazi was refreshing on such a hot day. But middle eastern cuisine and specialty foods are not his only main dishes, he also prepared a delicious pasta to accommodate children, and the pasta cravers that was a perfectly cooked penne, with fresh basil and tomato, not too oily, or salty, simply delicious. There was one particular staff member who saw to it to make sure that the bride and groom ate. We appreciate her! The only reason I removed a star is that leading up to the event, we didn't seem particularly important to the company. We received a very cursory "tasting" in which we had to come to an open house and only tasted two dishes, which contained mushrooms despite us requesting no mushrooms. We had a garden wedding and they served champagne and fantastic appetizers while we chatted with our zoom guests after the ceremony. Wow, these people must have bribed Yelp to remove my bad review. I work at UC Berkeley and this is by far the most unprofessional presentation of catered food I have ever suffered the embarrassment of ordering. I was the one who posted the picture of the cake, which looks like it was prepared by a 5 year old. The food arrived in a very ghetto packaging (cheap, ugly aluminum bins, think "BBQ presentation"), tasted quite bad, some items like their pizza were still raw, and as disgraceful as the cake looked, even worse was the taste and that it crumbled and disintegrated when cut. I would never, ever recommend this place. If the owners erase my review, I will just post again, because I wish I had known this before placing my order and looking like a fool in front of our whole department. I would recommend this company to cater your 3 year-old's lost-tooth party, but nothing more formal than that. read more

My positive review was also deleted for some reason, so I am posting again. We are thrilled with Jasmine catering! Jasmine Catering was our caterer for our wedding at Beth El in Berkeley. Everything was perfect! The food was presented well and everyone loved it. The wait staff was absolutely delightful and the bartenders were professional and speedy. Oded listened to all our requests and even displayed our Photo frames all around the social hall. Hè had his staff place the favors at every setting, and they neatly put our home made cake toppers on the cake. At the end of the night Oded checked in with us and made sure extra food, wine and champagne were saved for us to pick up the next day. Many of our guests inquired about the caterer at our wedding and were raving about the food. Oded was a pleasure to work with throughout the entre planning process. He promptly and patiently responded to all our questions and provided guidance around rental equipement and more. My husband and I highly recommend Jasmine Catering!
