I ordered six platters for my sister's 80th birthday party this past Saturday. They were not able to deliver, but when I had my niece and nephew drive from Alameda for pickup, they were met by very friendly, efficient people who helped them load up the car. They even gave them some free samples, to which my nephew said, "If I wasn't getting on a plane tomorrow, I would definitely have ordered something! So good!" The food was absolutely wonderful: rave comments from everyone at the party! They were arranged beautifully. Had many questions about where I had ordered from. Turns out one of our guests already has an order in with them for a family reunion coming up! The menu is extensive and interesting. I had a hard time deciding as it all looked so good. Everyone had their favorite; mine was the watermelon/cucumber/onion/mint salad! I WHOLE-HEARTEDLY RECOMMEND THEM for any function where you want delicious food at a reasonable price and the whole order handled professionally. read more

5 stars with no hesitation. I have worked with Ann's when I was in a department. The food was always consistent and always arrived on time. Now I only get it when its ordered and consider myself lucky when I do. Today I feel inspired to praise the fresh ingredients. I love meat and I still chose the avocado hummus sandwich over the turkey. The hummus is absolutely delicious paired with the crisp cucumbers and fresh soft focacia bread. Always delicious read more

I love and catering the food is always fresh. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. I dream about the shard Corn with the avocados inside. It is so delicious in the noodles. All of the food is really really fresh and good and delivery if you wanted delivery is really really not expensive compared to the delivery service if you're just using Uber eats or anything like that so I want to rave about Anns Catering I wanna give a shout out to Sarah, Tony and Shatta!!!! read more

I recently attended a conference at UC Berkeley, and they featured breakfast both days and lunch the second day catered by Ann's Catering. It was all so good! I've never had such tasty food at a conference event before, much less food brought in by a catering company (rather than prepared by the on premises dining services)! It was definitely way better than any food prepared at my own university. And looking at the current menus offered by Ann's Catering, it also looked like their pricing was extremely reasonable and competitive too! I especially enjoyed the fresh focaccia bread on the lunch sandwiches, and the quinoa and wild rice salad was a revelation. I originally only took one small scoop, and only because it looked healthy. But then I went back for seconds and took leftovers home because it was so darn tasty! And the chicken satay and beef teriyaki sticks were also really delicious and tender! We had more than enough food for everyone to be well-fed, but there weren't many leftovers either, which I think is a testament to how tasty everything was. I would not hesitate to work with Ann's Catering if I am ever looking for a catering company provider in the East Bay. read more

I had a small event that I ordered catering from Ann's recently. As always, the food was delicious. Fresh ingredients and generous portions! Their new location is easy to get to, off of the Ashby exit and a couple blocks south on San Pablo. I highly recommend. I knew nothing about caterers in the Oakland area, so when a friend suggested Ann's Catering, I was grateful for some direction. First, the website was easy to journey through, and the beautiful platters were well-described, so I could be sure I had something for Vegans as well as meat-eaters. On the day of the party, they delivered right on time, and the platters were just as beautiful as those on the website. I don't need to tell you how delicious the food was because no one would leave the buffet. I had a dance floor and a DJ, but they all stood at the buffet having great conversations. Everyone loved the food, and I'm convinced that helped to make the party a great success. read more

I wasn't able to attend family Thanksgiving this year, so I decided on a whim to try Ann's Thanksgiving single entree meal, and I'm so glad I did! It had everything a perfect Thanksgiving meal should have (Turkey, gravy, mashed potatoes, stuffing, cranberry sauce, veggies, and even pumpkin pie). For $55 I thought it was a great deal. It's plenty of food for at least two generous servings. Everything tasted amazing. The stuffing and mashed potatoes were particularly delicious. Easy pickup, and easy Thanksgiving dinner. Thank you, Ann's for providing this delicious meal! read more

I was referred to this place by Mama Royale for an event at my church. I called Ann's I think on Wednesday of last week for an event on Saturday of the same week. I met Sarah, who helped me order three trays of food. I asked if the items could be ready on Saturday by 8am. I called before arriving at 8:00am. Everything was ready and brought to my vehicle. The Food was hot and the fruit bowl was over the top fresh. The event was a huge success with numerous people asking for the information on where I got the food. This business is TOP notch, and I will most definitely be calling on this again to cater other events. OUTSTANDING read more

My husband's company hosted a luncheon this week and I was fortunate enough to have an entire packaged meal delivered to me - what a sweet hubby. I was given the #21 - a Vietnamese Style Grilled Tofu flavored with vegan mayo, pickled carrots, cucumber, cilantro sprigs and jalapeños served on a baguette. Accompanying the sandwich was a pasta salad seasoned brilliantly and finished with a vinaigrette and a chocolate chip cookie. Each item was separately packaged, wrapped carefully and contained within the same compostable box. In fairness I devoured the tofu sandwich the following day, following an overnight stay in our refrigerator. With that noted, the baguette was soft with a bit of crunch - perfect as if it were freshly made at that moment. The pasta salad was firm and seasoned appropriately, not too heavy or delicate. I typically do not stop midway to compose a review but for this I had to. I wanted everything fresh in my mind and on my taste buds to share. Please forgive the half eaten photo, which does it no justice, but know if I am raving about this the day after it was prepared imagine how insanely delicious your experience will be same day! Enjoy! read more

I gotta hand it to Ann's - they have been a catering gem for my past in-person work events, friends' birthdays, and my very own wedding reception! They have seasonal menus with a variety of delicious options that are customizable for dietary needs (vegan, gluten-free, etc.), very helpful customer service for several of my online/phone inquiries, and they make and present their food with lots of TLC. While you can't go wrong with any of their high quality options, some of my favorites are the soba noodle salad, tofu, mini fried chicken biscuits, spring rolls, portobello skewers, mini loaded potatoes, and steak with chimichurri sauce. They don't deliver but offer pickup at designated times of the day. Prices aren't cheap but you can taste, see, and smell the quality. Needless to say that I highly recommend Ann's Catering. You should also brunch at their sister restaurant,, Rick and Ann's! read more

I work at a Grad School and we were doing catered lunches for each cohort. This entailed finding somewhere that did individually packaged lunches that were gluten free and vegan inclusive. Ann's has gone above and beyond to ensure we got exactly what we asked for. The food is fresh, delicious, high quality and made with care. They even label everything individually! Let me tell you that bread on those sandwiches was SO tasty. I'm not even vegan but the Vietnamese style grilled tofu sandwich was my favorite! Sarah and Tony took amazing care of us. When I went to pick up the orders (they do offer delivery as well) I was impressed with the selection of items to take home. I had to grab their key lime pie! The whipped cream looked like utter perfection. We will definitely be using them again in the future. They have a restaurant, which also looked poppin! read more

Never had I have so many people rave about catered food before. A 10-year-old even came up to me and said: "This is the best party food I've ever had!" Ann's Catering was clearly a crowd pleaser. We had a selected a variety of cuisines and they were all done extremely well. The ordering process was amazingly easy and they have won themselves a happy customer who will certainly return. One thing though is that I wish they would've provided food labels/signs so guests easily know what is being served. But I made and printed my own within 5 minutes so no harm done. I recently used Ann's Catering for a baby shower brunch and it was incredible. We loved the chia seed pudding, the fruit and cheese plate, the frittatas and the biscuit sandwiches were incredible! Everything was very fresh, well seasoned, and just tasty. I received so many compliments from my guests. The drop off in Alameda was on time and the platters looked great on the buffet table. It was so easy to order and I was able to get feedback on the quantity of food I was ordering vs. my number of guests. We even were able to make slight adjustments the week before the event based on my final guest count. Highly HIGHLY recommend!! read more

Everything was deeply satisfying. I look forward to trying more of their food. read more

This review is slightly overdue. Ann's Catering provided the refreshment (appetizers) and beverage (hot and cold) for my sister's retirement party held last month at Haviland Hall on the U.C. Berkeley Campus. Presentation of the platters of assorted appetizers and fresh fruit was very appealing and tasty. I enjoyed their stuffed mini potatoes, tea sandwiches and fresh fruit platter, except the lemonade was just a tad too sweet. I did not see any iced tea to balance the sweetness of the lemonade (darn, could not fix an Arnie Palmer). The appetizers were delish that when I went back for seconds, there were none left. Since I loved those stuffed potatoes very much, I will be visiting Ann Catering's in the future. read more

Ann's is one of my go-to caterers. I do a lot of event planning and meeting catering for work and aside from their delicious food, they're easily one of the most professional and responsive caterers I have ever worked with. While Ann's usually puts me above my per person budget due to their set platter sizes, their prices are relatively affordable for the quality. All of their food is intended to be served either room temperature or chilled, which takes the worry away from food getting cold while guests arrive. Their presentation is simple and pleasant, with most items ready to serve on sturdy white platters. Dishes with dips sometimes come in bell pepper bowls, which is a nice touch. The quinoa cakes with red pepper aioli are my favorite appetizer that I've tried. Other things I've ordered include the turkey, portobello and brie, and steak foccacia sandwiches, garden tortellini salad, phyllo pastry triangles, and salad, and everything has been tasty. I've been eyeing their fried chicken biscuit sandwiches, which seem popular. I really wish they didn't charge extra for utensils and serving spoons, but if budget is an issue, you can of course easily purchase this on your own. Other than that, Ann's is a great option for both catering a meeting at work or a private party with family and friends. Delivery is available to select East Bay cities and you can also pick-up. They have an extensive menu that is almost overwhelming, but it allows for you to cater to whatever theme you're going for. Ann's is a pleasure to work with and their food never disappoints. Highly recommend! read more

Had Ann's today at work! What a treat it was from our normal company catered food. Shhh! Don't tell anyone I said that... Ordered about 12 plates consisting of hors d'oeuvres, spring rolls, chicken and pork kababs, black rice, chicken wings, Fried MUSHROOMS and other tasty dishes. Emphasis on mushrooms because they were surprisingly delicious with a nice texture. The plates were presented beautifully and the centerpiece (as a half open bell pepper) held the complimentary sauce. Definitely one of the best caterers I've eaten from! Hope my work orders more from this place! Missing it already. read more

I've had their food at a couple of events at Cal. Nearly spotless each time. What I've tried: -Roasted spiced squash -Chicken fried wontons with pineapple ginger sauce -Roasted Vegetable sandwiches on foccacia -Desserts: multiple brownies, amazing key lime pie bar, lemon bar, pecan bar, cheesecake bar...drool -Thai peanut pasta -Chicken or mushroom skewers with peanut ginger sauce or basil pesto -Stuffed mini potatoes -Shrimp sweet potato fried cakes -Pesto pasta with sun dried tomatoes All of these are SUPERB. The basil pesto can be smeared on anything to taste amazing. The sweet potato shrimp cakes are phenomenal. The fried chicken wontons, be warned. You may just each one too many because their very flavorful and delicious. Key lime pie bar, just right amount of sweet and tart. Cookie like base, great. Only thing I didn't like was the stuffed potatoes. Tasted really weird. Best catering ever. read more

Due to my boss getting Ann's catering for a lunch meeting, I finally got the chance to try their (her?!) amazing food! I know having leftovers to eat sucks, but Ann's leftovers are a blessing. Recently catering through Ann's Catering (from Rick & Ann's restaurant) was an amazing and easy process. I know some people might be turned off by the e-mail only contact, but it was so smooth and took a day to get my order in and prepared. Our order included - Kale, Apple and Fennel Slaw - Grilled Asparagus - Charred Corn Salad - Orzo with Roasted Vegetables Salad - Red Quinoa & Black Bean Salad - Hawaiian Style Tuna Poke Evidentally, this was a healthy party of 50. The poke from Ann's is usually the first thing to go, but should be served cold and quick, because those who had it room temperature were not a fan. I personally fell in love with the orzo and have been craving it since. The asparagus was also cooked perfectly - which most places don't do. If the other 5 star reviews hadn't convinced you enough, I hope this one does. Ann's is efficient, healthy, affordable and a crowd-pleaser! read more
