    Everything bagel, minus a bite
    Steven F.

We have driven by here many times and finally stopped to try what has been called a real New York style bagel. Well, this suggestion was right on. This was an excellent bagel in NY style. Chewy outer shell and soft inside. It would stack up to any bagel shop in New York city. Everything was nice and fresh. So, with that said you are probably wondering why I only gave it 4 stars. Well, two reasons: First, we got an everything bagel, and a cinnamon and blueberry bagel. There were very few blueberries in the second bagel. Second, we wanted them with butter. It is under the heading of a schmear on your bagel. They have a lot of choices. The bagel itself was $2, the bagel with a schmear was $4.25. Which I would normally be fine with, however butter was in the schmear catelgory. So, for getting my bagel with a swipe of butter it was more than the bagel itself. Here is picture of the bagel. Sorry I took several bites before I remembered to get a picture. I will definitely be going back, however will be bringing the bagels home to use my own butter.

I ordered a vegan cream cheese bagel with smoked salmon. I'm lactose intolerant so I don't get to order this kind of stuff so this was nice. The cream cheese tastes like the real deal and the environment was nice. They don't have outdoor seating setup but hopefully soon!

If you love bagels, this needs to be your go-to! Their bagels are always fresh and the service is always kind. This is a great idea for a group breakfast or large group meal. They make it easy to order one bagel or as many as you need + lots of different schmears.

Five stars for the bagels, four stars for the set up & execution, and three for the service. If you are wise enough to order ahead of time, then you can skip the last two items and you'll get five star bagels. If you want to just go enjoy a bagel and maybe a cup of coffee, then the line jams at the door, the table layout is still in COVID mode, and the service line seems to be in reverse order. Great bagels, from the simplest to add-in items (the Mrs. is a sucker for pumpernickel with plain schmear and laid) with plenty of options. I love me a sesame with a crazy amount of plain cream cheese and Meshuggah's comes through strong! Easy to find, easy to enjoy. Perfect option for skipping a larger sit-down meal and still enjoying some breakfast fare. Work on the flow inside and this is a winner.

I always thought the best bagel I've had was Bagels on the Hudson in Hoboken, NJ. The second best was Bagel Bin in Omaha, NE. This tops both of them. This was the perfect Everything Bagel - a bit hard on the outside and fluffy on the inside. Just like a bagel should be. The scallion schmear is soooo good. I love savory bagels and savory cream cheese. Great spot for take out breakfast. I wish I lived in KC so I could get this often.

This is the best bagel hands down! The staff is very kind and willing to do whatever it takes to ensure a great experience. The ambiance is unmatched! Such Quaint little hole in the wall. Perfect for a morning alone or a casual business meeting.

The iced latte I got was delicious, and I was so glad that they had decaf espresso as an option since I can't typically have caffeine. (Note: I am unsure of their specific cross contamination risks, so be sure to ask staff for more details if needed). There were great seating options (I chose one of the couches, which was so comfy!), and the employees were all very friendly. Overall I definitely recommend this cafe and will be visiting again!

Their other location has colorful seating, artwork, with tables & chairs woven into a forest-like wonderland of plants. This one? A table. A gray backdrop. Sure there are plants, but they're a ways away and it felt more like hanging out in a midwestern garage. The other issue that has me knocking it down some stars is that this has become THE place to get warm. Sure we have our furnaces blasting in January, or a fireplace roaring, but you know that kind of late spring, humid warm? This is usually it, but I have to say I was borderline cold on my last visit. It felt clammy and more "March spring" than "May spring." Coffee is EXCELLENT from Thou Mayest, and it's hard to go wrong. Wifi was not all that strong and ran into a few issues on a video call, but is relatively sufficient for most day-to-day work items if you choose to work from here. If it's equidistant, I would say go to the Shawnee location for sure. If this is the closest one, it's not all bad, but I would love to see some real warmth and color in here to help complete the escape-winter-energy that we all need during this cold, gray stretch.

If you're queer like me, you'll likely be drinking a cold black coffee and they have options! They have a regular cold brew in 3 sizes, a cold brew of the moment / seasonal (ask about it!) and a cold brew shandy for something different. My partner and I got two different cold brews on tap today, the original and the Seasonal Single Origin Honduran one. The single origin Honduran was better, but their original was good too. There's a lot of seating, but it's usually taken up, so I tend to just take my coffee to go. Expect to walk out for around $6ish a cup. Maybe it's the former barista in me, but I just never know what I'm gonna walk into. I was bit extra hesitant as I knew from reading reviews that this place was a bit off the beaten path, and as I routed myself there and found my car meandering through a suburban office parking lot maze I became even more nervous about my plan to work from here. All of that being said, once I got close to the coffeeshop itself I saw a sign clearly visible from the lot which was my first breath of relief. The signage is spectacular for a fairly hidden spot. Yes, you need to know it's here, but you will find it rest assured! If you don't see the sign keep hunting. The nice thing about it being in an office park is that there is ample parking. I was able to park and walk right in. The inside is modern but inviting, and at 9am I was able to have my pick of the tables.
