Egg and cheese Asiago bagel sandwich
Angie B.

Finally got a chance to try B's today for breakfast. I ordered a hot breakfast sandwich - egg and cheese on Asiago bagel. My husband had an Asiago bagel with cream cheese. Then we split a cherry cheesecake. Everything was fresh, delicious, and made right then. Although there were several people there when we got there, the wait was very reasonable. Great, friendly staff and cute tables outside to sit at made for a fun morning date!

Everything and rainbow bagel

I just had the best bagel of my life! You've got to try the cheesy garlic stuffed bagel! Everything they have here is amazing especially the frappe! Timmy and his wife have great service! And it's such a quaint little shop, it fits right in! A great place for a breakfast date!

Carmel ice coffee

This is a small, order at the window and take it to go establishment. Bagels were fresh, cheesecake pastry was very good (I got the last one) we tried the sausage and bacon sandwiches on jalapeno cheddar and an everything bagel along with a half dozen variety to go- sandwiches were home made style and good; they didn't ask if we wanted toasted bagels but I assume it's an option if requested (I think I'd like it even more toasted) flavors were good and bagels were fresh. The Carmel ice coffee was of really good quality too.

Lots of cute decoration and plenty of seating. Also doubles as an event center that you can rent…read more The menu has a lot of options for everyone which is nice. Tried the Texas Benny which was really good. The gravy was tasty but the potatoes weren't seasoned or salted. Also tried the Denver scrambler. I ordered with breakfast potatoes but ended up getting hash-browns but besides that it was good. They did fully butter my bread when I would've wanted the option on how much to apply. Also tried their horchata which didn't have as much cinnamon as I'm used too but still super yummy. There weren't many people here on a Sunday at 9 but they seemed to be running around while having one big party. I personally think it's a typical breakfast place and don't plan on coming back but it's nice to try at least once.

We ordered online for pickup and got there a little early. We called to let them know we'd…read morearrived--no rush. Our order came out pretty quickly, though another employee had to run out with something that was left out. About five minutes into the drive home, the restaurant called again--another item had been forgotten. I turned around and called when I got back. They offered a free drink, which we declined. At that point, the food was already cooling off, and we still had a 10-minute drive ahead, so waiting around for drinks didn't seem worth it. Mom got the Eggibirria Omelette and really liked it. I tried a bite and thought it was good too. A little too "wet" for me, but that's just personal taste. Now, about my order: The Mamba Burrito. It was big, and the spinach cheese dip was actually really good--though some of it leaked into the bag during our trips. My main issue is with the burrito itself. The menu says it's filled with scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, chorizo, pico de gallo, and potatoes, topped with spinach cheese dip. That's not quite how I'd describe it. Honestly, it should say: "A giant flour tortilla filled with potatoes (and a few other things if you dig around enough)." The potatoes weren't just part of the mix--they were the mix. The eggs were barely noticeable, buried in what felt like a mountain of spuds. Bacon showed up in a few random flakes. The sausage and chorizo were there, but the chorizo was not a flavor I enjoyed and I usually love chorizo. And the pico? Maybe a spoonful, tops. To be blunt, I think I could've ordered two full-sized baked potatoes and still ended up with less potato than what was packed into that burrito. It was just too much--overwhelming and totally out of balance. I'm not saying I'd never go back; sometimes a place deserves a second shot. But with so many options out there, this one's not exactly high on my list for a return visit.

The women working the cashier was very kind and helpful. Absolutely fantastic quality of food and coffee! Our whole group was impressed with everything that we ordered. The stand out was the bacon Gouda sandwich on some phenomenal ciabatta bread. The bagel was outstanding. The pastry case was drool worthy and we'll have to come back to eat through it. Price wise its a bit on the pricey side but worth it for the quality you're receiving. Lots of free street parking available. Note for the cold brew lovers - they don't serve cold brew so be ready with your back up order.

It's small but not too small with the outdoor and upstairs seating. I was quickly greeted by the very friendly staff after walking in. I asked "what's the best thing on the menu if I was never to be here again (I'm a driver and likely won't)" and she said the bacon Gouda and boy oh boy was it good! The bacon was very high quality and so was the bread. The cheese was super melted and made the almost garlic buttery mayo taste even better. I would highly recommend it and would recommend this place!!

However over the last 6 months and 5-6 visits the service has been lacking a sense of intuitiveness. It has felt a lot more like someone is taking our order only and responds with a "No I'm sorry we don't do that.." first response even with simple side swaps or newly printed table options showing it is an option. Questions around HH, dinner menu items &/or other specials, seems limited to none. On all 3 of the last visits someone in our party has had to point out menu/special changes to the service staff they were unaware of on the printed hand out materials. My last visit was on New Years Day and the level of inconsistent food & service quality was apparent. I don't think this is a server/staff issue but more of a communication breakdown between leadership and their teams. The food was decent/average, service (even for being slow) was ok but still lacked in new menu knowledge & available presence. However as a positive the newer brunch options looked great especially for New Year's Day. It would have been nice if there was more flexibility with New Year's Day food, drink options &/or sides however the fact they were open for brunch after a holiday was really appreciated. However, the lack of initiative to even say let me go and check on that didn't seem to exist. This was even evident when each time we politely pointed out the request was stated as a standard option on either the table print outs & menus. All 3 servers came back with an oh yeah I guess I didn't know about that response after they had already told us "no" that's not a possibility without checking. I will reiterate that I do love this organization & place. Because of this appreciation I have brought several new customers and new to KC area people into the Martin City just for this experience. However after this recent inconsistency, higher prices and average food quality change, I have a few other great local options I'll be looking at first.

The rest of the staff is great as well, and are very excited and passionate about the direction of Mi Rancho. On my previous visit, the owner told me he was adding breakfast to the menu, so I came back eager to try it. I got the chicken fried steak with eggs, hashbrowns, and a biscuit. Everything was really good, but the chicken fried steak with housemade sausage gravy really excellent. I love a sausage gravy where I can see actual chunks of sausage and that has a nice peppery kick. The batter on the chicken fried steak was crunchy and not super thick and heavy.
