We ventured out into downtown area to grab a drink & hopefully find a spot still serving food. We stumbled across House of Charm while searching online info for something nearby. The exterior is unassuming but easy to spot & the delightful interior was funky, fun & welcoming. Music wasn't insanely loud but was there & the number of interesting "charms" sprinkled throughout the establishment were a total gas. My favorite was the deconstructed Barbie parts displayed on small hooks at the end of the bar. The staff was lovely & came over to greet us in a timely manner. Assured us that they still had a late night menu & then we got to have THE BEST SPICY MARGARITAS EVER!!! The paninis were also yummy & we each got a piece of chocolate & a Dum Dum included on our plates for dessert. But seriously! The spicy margarita! Was absolute Fire I love spicy & am often disappointed if I'm trying a Spicy Marg out & about. Even if I ask for extra spicy...it never really is. But this guys Spicy Margarita was AMAZING!! Both myself & my husband (who doesn't love spicy like I do) were able to enjoy the drinks. They were spicy enough that I enjoyed them & the flavor profile was still balanced & delicious so my hubby was also a huge fan. Of all the places we got to try while in Buffalo, House of Charm was by far my favorite!

We try…read moreto get together for brunch at least 4 times a year and we have yet to repeat a location - let's just say, this place now holds a top 5 place in our hearts to the point that we talked about revisiting to our top 5 locations. Starting with ambiance.......2 full sized bars with plenty of tv viewing if that is what you are in to while there. The seating area is well lit with natural light and comfortable, well spaced seating. We were greeted by our quiet, yet smiley server, Raymond. He was warm, efficient and also gave us great recommendations (coupled with personal stories as to why they were recommended). We ordered drinks (their craft cocktail menu is one of the best I have seen) and then perused the menu. We went with Raymond's recommendation to order 2 cinnamon rolls for the table (we were leary as many places whose claim to fame for having the "best" cinnamon roll, fall short). We also ordered 2 of the multigrain breakfast sandwiches, a smashburger, Brasserie breakfast sandwich, and the biscuits and gravy (highly recommended by Raymond as well). Everything was OUTSTANDING! Phrases like "seriously the combination of this breakfast sandwich with pancakes as the buns is the best breakfast sandwich I have ever had." And, the cinnamon rolls!!! Raymond wasn't lying when he said they were the best. All 5 of us agreed that they were the best cinnamon rolls we have ever had, and lo and behold then had a conversation about what makes a good cinnamon roll - these check ALL of the boxes. We are still talking today about the great atmosphere, service and drinks/food at this establishment. And yes, there may STILL be talk about the cinnamon rolls. Don't sleep on this place!

They have a legendary happy hour known for great prices. Even on the good shit hand crafted. It's about $8 at these times. Best one we got was the Manhattan. The burger seems to be popular. Got to say it's a great value when you go early. It's located on Pearl at Huron. They're closed Sundays and Mondays and are only open evenings or whatever.

First off, I was greeted and found staff friendly and efficient! You have plenty of options for seating .. dining area, front bar, back bar, even an outdoor patio bar. Although it is dive bar-esque, it was nice and clean (let's be honest .. some dives have a stench and stickiness that can definitely ruin your appetite, no matter how much you may love them). They have a set up for bands to play, as one was playing while I was there for their 2 year anniversary (congrats!). What was nice is although I could hear the band (it was playing in the back and I was up front), it wasn't over whelming me. I have eaten places where, no matter where you sit, it's extremely loud, and I appreciated that you had a choice here. Now onto the food: The food should have been doomed to fail; my tastebuds were prepared to eat sweet, buttery, syrupy French toast with a mocktail at brunch elsewhere. But wasn't hyped about the menu because of this (which is not dog and pony's fault .. I had to work and didn't have time to research where else brunch was available). I settled on the umami smashburger by a suggestion of my waitress. Now once again, could have been doomed to fail as I'm not a French fry person and my favorite cheeseburger is one I make on my own. BUT WOW their food blew me away and made me forget all about my brunch let-down. The French fries were fantastic and had a great seasoning on them! The smashburger was great to the last bite .. and I was NOT expecting to finish it as it was a really nice portion (I ate lunch now 10 hours ago and didn't need to eat again it was so filling!) but it was so dang gone good I sure finished it! Smoked cheddar .. chimichuri aioli ... kimchi bacon jam .. oh ya that bacon jam was EVERYTHING!! Thank you to the staff at Dog and Pony for making my long drive worth while!

The second I picked it up, I could smell all the delicious meats and toppings. The combination was incredible: salty, tangy, savory, and packed with flavor without being overwhelming. The dough was perfectly chewy with just the right amount of crispness around the edges, and it held up beautifully under all those toppings. I'd love to see this special get a permanent spot on the menu. It was just over $30, but definitely worth it. And now I have pizza for lunch for the next few days, so I'm calling that a win!

So it was a pleasant surprise when a friend and I decided that we'd stop by. This was their first time here and admittedly I was happy because they haven't had many pleasant food experiences in Buffalo. I believe they haven't been going to the best places but that's another conversation for another day. Okay so let's dig into the experience. We were running late and arrived at approximately 9:40 pm. I was nervous that we'd either a) be turned away or b) not get the best service since it was so close to the time that they closed. Let me be the first to say that that was not the case at all. We were seated in the most perfect little nook tucked away near the door. Dimly lit but cozy for good vibes and good food. Our server Megan came over and she was truly delightful. She provided really great recommendations. It was the perfect mix of personal reccs, insight on bestsellers, and answers to our mainy questions. We ultimately settled on two pizzas, fried rice, and a buyer (not pictured). The food came out in a timely manner. The drinks were incredible and the service was undeniable. Special shoutout to Megan again for offering a one of a kind experience. Misc: There's a parking lot next door to the building never knew. Prices are a tad steep but the vibes are good. Kitchen closes at 10. Check hours before going. Fried rice is a tad spicy but delicious. Drinks are perfect! I can't wait to go back :]

I told my husband I was craving a steak of some sort & the local "3 stars " weren't cutting it . This place was already rated well above three , even four stars ! So we took a walk! Upon entering I noticed the "Suzanne " drink" this is my mother's name so of course I had to order ! Just like my mother , the drink did not disappoint! I ordered the steak frites however replaced the frites with salad(I want drinks over carbs - very difficult decision. I know)... not sure what kind of dressing the used but . Wow. I could eat just that salad every night of my life . The steak was cooked to perfect temp as per my request (medium) I personally enjoy the flavor of steak itself but the sauce that had with this.... This brought it to another level . My husband ordered the Porc . I'm not saying we're low class but we are not high class however we do have manners . I have never seen him eat a meal as quickly as he did in the 15 years we have been together . I too took a bite and was impressed by the flavor and the pork not being over cooked . I actually swooped some of his sauce on my steak & this was to die for . My husband & I showed up at 7:50. The restaurant closed at 9. I actually apologized to the server and hostess due to my self eating incredibly slow . Being a former waitress in my 20's I failed to finish my salads despite their encouragement to take my time.
