Mercury Broadband - FAST, RELIABLE AND UNLIMITED BROADBAND INTERNET - Internet Service Providers Near Me

This company comes into our neighborhood and starts digging up our personal property so that they can increase their income. When they're done with our property, it looks like hell but they don't care and then yet they had the audacity to send us a flyer that gives us the possibility of discounted rates. What does this world become when your personal property is a no value when somebody can go and start digging it up read more

If I could give negative stars, I would. I'm a 21-year-old college student and first-time homeowner, and unfortunately Mercury Broadband was the only internet option in my area. From the very beginning, the entire process was shady and exhausting. They originally quoted me nearly $200 for installation plus a $70 monthly plan. When I refused, suddenly the installation fee was waived and they "discovered" a $55 plan. That bait-and-switch alone should have been my warning. I scheduled installation for July 3, 2025. On that day, their team not only harassed me with twelve separate phone calls despite already texting with me (I am hard of hearing and had made that clear), but they also damaged my property. They drilled straight through my brand-new $500 headboard without ever mentioning it, leaving me to discover the hole later when I rearranged my furniture. They saw exactly what they had done, walked into my bedroom, and never said a word. Completely unacceptable. After installation, they told me someone would call to set up autopay over the holiday weekend. That call never came. Instead, on July 7th, 2025, I received an emailed invoice with a $60 late fee already attached. I provided them with proof of the texts from their own installer promising that call, and still they refused to remove the charge. I refused to pay for their error. By July 15th, after receiving my fourth inflated invoice totaling $115, I requested a disconnection and uninstall. Instead of closing my account, they sent me another bill -- this time for $1,200 for "equipment" I tried scheduling for them to come pick up. At that point I involved my family's attorney, who helped me send a final dispute, which is attached in the photos below. It wasn't until August 13th that Mercury finally responded and sent a corrected invoice. This company lies, damages property, ignores legal protections, and invents charges out of thin air. They are scammers, and I would strongly warn anyone considering them to stay far away. Thankfully there are now 3 other fiber optic providers in my region, and I will be switching within the next few days... read more

They are expensive and always have times that it pauses. Then if you are late, you have to pay that month, then an extra month, and a late fee. Then the whole time they had the wrong lot number down for our account. That made disconnecting, frustrating. First day they said they would be out, didn't show. Second day, I had to call twice to finally figure out what was going on. They went to the wrong lot. They need to fix their communication among the different departments read more

Connection service is HORRIBLE! resolution is NONEXISTENT! calling is useless because NO ONE will Help you. Now they want to charge almost $300 for service that was NEVER received. It is a SCAM! read more

Like most rural area internet providers, they took the government funding and expanded their service areas. Unfortunately, after a couple years of decent service, they too have taken on more than they can handle. A recent price increase has been followed with very inconsistent service. Frequent outages that last anywhere from a few minutes to a few hours or more. You can request a credit, and it might be approved by a supervisor in a couple months. They brag about their service and reliability, but I certainly haven't experienced either. read more

The service failed within the first 3 weeks. There is no tech. support between 7pm-8am. They will not do a same day service call. They will not credit you even when you do not have functioning service unless its less than 72hrs. Poor quality and customer service. They also had 811 mark up my yard and drive in red paint to bury a line that already existed, and i had to be the one to make calls to cancel the redundant job. read more

The worst internet I have ever used we currently pay 160$ a month and we get extremely slow internet. download speed of about 300 kbps and upload speed of about 150 kbps. Not the fact that the internet went down for 3 weeks we tried talking to customer service and they said there is nothing they can do for 3 weeks. We still payed for that months internet. DO NOT GET THIS INTERNET!!! read more

Kenric Maxwell came out today to install our new Mercury Broardband system. He was very polite and made sure all of our needs were met. It was a pleasure to have him install this system. We would recommend him to anyone looking to install Mercury Sytem in their home. read more

Showed up on my doorstep unrequested, seemed legit and sincere. I asked a lot of questions and at the time, Noah seemed honest. Said he would schedule for a test to see if the signal was good at my location. Next thing I know, I'm getting emails saying I'm scheduled for an install. To the reviews I went. Wow! They are not good. Started digging deeper and the responses I had received from Noah were the type used by lawyers. You know... Wording is everything. He made it sound one way but meant a different way. I asked about contracts and he said my price would be locked in for two years. Nothing about having to stay with them for two years, which was what I was asking. Come to find out.... I would be locked into two years of service with them. Misleading. I called him to cancel, but before I could say anything, he said he was sorry he hadn't called and would neeed to reschedule the installation. Very strange. I told him I didn't believe that would be necessary as I no longer was interested. Two days later, I get yet another email saying I'm scheduled for installation next day. I immediately sent out a text to Noah stating they better not show up. He said it was a glitch. All in all... seems at best bad business, and at worse, con artists. Would definitely not let them in the door and would t recommend. read more

Predatory and unwilling to work with customers one anything. You cannot call customer servies directly they will only call you randomly throughout the day and never leave messages. If you try to have them connect you to a disconnection specialist they will refuse and tell you "they will call you" but only durring hours normal people work. After talking to a manager I still have to pay for a service they basically refused to just cancel for me. Now they have also charged me for equipment and refused to work with me to get this taken care of. The company is a scam and will look for anyway to make dealing with simple issues difficult. Even now I tried to call about the equipment and the customer service rep got aggressive and refused to work anything out. There is no value when the company is impossible to communicate with and customer service is only company service. read more

Mercury Broadband - The total amount I owe is over 1000 dollars now - Internet Service Providers Near Me

Horrible experience with them. Nothing but trouble worst internet company I've ever used! Warning: Avoid at all cost. Internet does not work most of the time. I usually end up just using my cell data and hotspot, I've never ever gotten the speeds that they claim. They try and lock you into a 2 year contract and I'm going to try an break it now after a year with them. I pay $65 a month and for the last month I've gotten close to zero service out of it. Relied almost entirely on phone hotspot. I don't think I've ever given a 1 star review to a product or company before because I don't want to hurt anyone's business. But what they provide seems to be nothing but a scam. read more

HORRIBLE. Can't get billing right. Loosing service all the time. The recent "supervisor" that I talked to about cancelling my service would not give me her last name for my records. She said I would have to call every day for a few months with problems in order to waive the cancellation fee, even though I have called them a dozen or more times in the last 2 months with problems and issues with my service. Every day! Stay far far away from this company unless you don't mind loosing service constantly. read more

DON'T GET THIS INTERNET CONSTANTLY DOWN, and when I say constantly I mean it. Everyday random drops anywhere from 5 mins to 24 hrs no service. Won't credit for issues. Will constantly state its your equipment or must have line of site issues. Last time I had their tech out, I bought 2 routers, a switch and line of site is not the issue the tower is in my back yard. So the routers I purchased are on both ends of pricing. 1 $300 router and 1 $20 router. When the tech arrived I gave him both routers and said here apparently it's my equipment so tell me which one. He arrived around 9:45 am. Around 3:30 pm he was still having issues getting the signal into my house. Finally he was able to get it connected he has no idea how he said but not going to disconnect anything. Later that night again lost internet, when it does work it will not download or update any of the devices in my home. Xbox will not recognize the service, PlayStation stated that I'm using a pirated service. Basically all you can do is stream videos when it is working but it only works while you're working. So if you decide to have this internet good luck. read more

4 month later. Internet would go down 11 times a day. and there tower went down 3 days in a row. 3rd day i made then cancel the contract fault to mercury. witch voided the contract. Turned them into my credit card company. got back my startup fee and the lasts months payment bc they didnt provide. And went with att starter pack. Unlimited hotspot and phone for $90 a month. The hotspot plugged right into the SAME router and havent had a single problem. Showing that it was them all along. The story is much longer. But i simplified it. LIke they wouldnt answer if they seen my phone number pop up. so i used a phone app. got a Kansas number and called them and they picked right up. That was when i canceled. I wish this company luck in staying afloat. But you have people so mad at you they burnt down your kansas tower. That says alot. read more

I've had Mercury 2X in the 4 years I've lived at my house. Didn't have any other options, and it was horrible the first time, and never worked (literally daily was never solid all day long) and so I went to another provider, and after 9 months they tore that tower down (was on a grain silo). I came back to Mercury after trenching a line across my yard to get me a better line of site. It worked a little better, but still was less than reliable. Ended up buying an AT&T hotspot for backup (that worked about as rough, but two is better than one right?). So Now I'm paying $230/month between these two services, neither work, and Starlink shows up. I use Starlink long enough to prove itself, cancel my auto-pay Mercury and they say, there will be another early termination fee (second one since cancelling last time because it wasn't working well enough either) and I said that's fine, I just need to end the bleeding. They cancel my service, life goes on. 3 months later I'm checking my spam mail and I've gotten 3 months of late fees from them for not paying my early termination fee. IT WAS ON AUTO-PAY. I call in, the lady says there's nothing she can do, and I have to just pay it. I was tired of arguing...they win. I'll go back to dialup before I ever use them again. If you have no other option, it's worth rolling the dice I guess, but seriously, daily it went down, it was never solid...which is fun when trying to run two businesses. read more

When the internet does actually work, we're lucky to get between 10-20Mb/s. For $80 a month. When it DOESN'T work, which is quite often, either they don't respond to our phone calls or they tell us it's our fault. When they first installed the satellite, the guy that did it stuck it in the ground about 5" and immediately quit his job, and they told us it was our fault until someone finally came out and fixed it a week later. Since then, unless Mercury is in retrograde (heh), or the stars are aligned just right, or the sun is in the perfect position, we're lucky to get anything. Don't even get me started when it comes to multiple devices Currently everything is crashed, we can't get the router to connect to the tower, and no one is available to talk to us. read more

Stay as far away from Mercury Wireless if you need consistent, reliable service. I work from home and Mercury Wireless is my only option in my rural town. There are at least 2 or 3 days a month were my schedule is disrupted due to internet outage. It's beyond frustrating. THey don't have 24 hour tech help to report outages after hours. I literally live right next to one of their towers and I have purchased the best equipment. I can't imagine anybody being happy with the hit or miss internet they provide. As soon as the opportunity arises that I can get other services I will be cancelling Mercury Wireless. read more

I am a returning customer. Struggled getting good connections and poor service with Mercury in the past so I turned to another vendor for about 2 years, then Mercury offered 4G LTE. Since the tower is within range and perfect LOS from my location I decided to try them again. It has been 3 months now, and like other customers, I am not getting what I am paying with the LTE 30/6 plan. Service has been down a good 50% of the time and barely functions at 10% throughput. The CPE has good signal, which has been confirmed by technicians, but it does not stay locked and has been very unreliable. I have resorted to using my cell phone hot spot most of the time, which has worked just fine, but not ideal either. The problem lies within their network and backhaul infrastructure. I have spoken to 10+ people (some multiple times), tech has been out, tickets opened, and promises to follow up have not been met . I know technology can be challenging and the ramp up of LTE internet service complicates the efforts, but 4G LTE has been around for a decade now. The constant rebooting is a temporary band-aid, very short lived and getting really annoying. My last service provider was 4G LTE and rarely required rebooting. I have been patient and understand they may be able to work it out, so I have requested a refund or decrease in rate until they can prove the their system is stable and consistent. So, recently I received a whopping $5 credit for technical service interruption, which is insulting and unacceptable. I believe the Mercury techs and customer support folks are just doing what they are told and the problem lies with management. They are over their heads with understanding the technology and use the customers as guinea pigs. The service they provide is more beta testing and I did not sign up for this type of service. Their mission statement "Mercury Broadband offers fast, reliable and unlimited internet access to connect and empower the communities we serve." Continues to be unproven and they blame customers, and penalize them for an early termination fee if the customer choose to break the contract even though the issue is with Mercury's service. My next step in my communications will be with Mercury's CEO. However, based on my experiences, and what others are experiencing too, our concerns may warrant a Class Action. read more

We have very few options where we live, and most have data caps while costing more than what Mercury Wireless offers. We decided to try Mercury Wireless when we moved and we've regretted it daily. Constant internet drops. VERY slow connection. We were told up to 7mps but tested at 9mps when installed. After installation, we have times when speed tests show well under 1mps... if we get a signal at all! When our internet was installed, we were told the only location it could be placed was on our fence, which we assumed was the one with a more open field by it. NOPE. Instead, it was installed on a metal pole attached to an electric fence under a tree with plants surrounding it. On Mother's Day, we woke up to the sound of lightning striking our receiver on the fence. It was the end of May when someone was finally able to come out to repair it. We were told we would be credited for the time we were unable to use the service. We were still billed for it. Customer service ranks low. Dependibility ranks low. Price is way too high for what we actually receive. If I had any other option, I would avoid using Mercury Wireless. read more

What a rip off. No customer service. No response when service went down. Do not sign up for this

If I could put a 0 star I would, Mercury Wireless is pure crap, unfortunately I live on a road with about 7 houses, and no provider other than Mercury can come to our house. For a long time it was less than par, and as soon as I got a laptop back in 2019 (I'm 14), the internet became the worst thing in the entire world, extremely inconsistent speed and ping, sometimes its 100 ping and 4 mbps, other times it is about 1k ping and 0.000001 mbps, so slow that I can't even load a speed test. I am having to quit playing any type of game because I can't do crap. It's very annoying and dumb. Sometimes it even struggles to load a website correctly, shows me some weird site that doesn't have any ads or any type of decoration on it, just blank text and hyperlinks. Overall crap provider and realllly hoping that we get new stuff. read more

I have had the service for at least 10 years and the quality deteriorates each year. The plan I have is for unlimited use at a speed of 5Mbps. The service has never performed at 5 Mbps. It would work in the range of 2 to 3 Mbps at best. One time, we did get about 3.2 Mbps. Over the past few months, the service has declined further. In the evenings we get about .5 to.75 Mbps. Maybe up to 1 Mbps. The service often disconnects and reconnects. Unplugging and replugging the modem helps some, but this has to be done frequently sometimes just to get a connection. In the early morning hours when people are not using it, it will get speeds of 1.5 to 2.5 Mbps and it does not seem to disconnect and reconnect continually. I know other users of the service and they are having a similar experience. I believe it has been oversold for the infrastructure available. Sometimes it is not available at all. This type of service may be becoming obsolete due to the improved quality of 4g and 5g which can provide much higher speeds. I am looking at a mifi set up as my cell phone data speed is about 12 Mbps. If the company offered this as an option, I would take look at it. As they have little to no marketing, or communications with customers, I don't know if anything is being done with new technology to make improvements. read more

I called to mercury wireless out here where I live. Close to the Jarblo Cell tower in Leavenworth KS. I spoke with Kyle about what I was looking for in service. He said he could probably make it happen but would send a tech out to test the area I lived. Kyle sent a tech out to test the service and got back to me the next day. Kyle informed me that I could get what I was looking for and when I asked if it could be upgraded later if it need to be, it could. When the installer came out to install the antena at my home we discussed what I was trying to do, and the installer said it could not be done. He showed me the service test and that my area I could not get what I wanted. As it was explained to me I was to be put on basic 3mb service , not even close to what I was looking for. And that the cell tower I was assigned to was already over used on customer and maxed out on volume. And much worse during peak hours. Kyle from mercury wireless lied to me and misled me to believe I was to get a specific service and product when it was not going to happen. read more

I give Mercury 1 star because I can't give it less. We wanted to change to mercury because they offered speeds above our current provider and the ability to have more devices on at the same time. In addition the tower was a mile from our house. The ad said they would test for signal and then if the signal was good and we were in agreement they would install the receiver. The told us the signal was good and then installed the receiver and the modem. Once installed the average speed they could get was around 1.5 Mbps. We we suppose to have 20. The stated the problem was with the tower and they would put in a work order to get it fixed. They were suppose to call and confirm once it was fixed so we could sign billing contract. 3 weeks later no call and still no internet. I called them again they tell me that someone will come out to the house and we will be up and running. They came out when no one was home closed the ticket even though we still had no internet. I called again. I was told they would call me and arrange for someone to come out. The did not call and again they came out with no one here to validate what was being done. They left and sent me a 2 year contract to sign. Still no internet. When I called and told them that I still had no internet the told me that if I signed the contract they would send someone out to get everything working (the 1 thing they have already failed to do numerous times already). I told them I was done with their embarrassingly poor service and for them to come and get there equipment. I most definitely do not recommend their service! read more

If you have any other option, do that. Rarely do I get the speeds I pay for. Constantly disconnects, 4-5 times a day. Right now I'm using my phone data, since Mercurys "dependable" wireless has been down for over a day. No way to contact them after hours when it goes down, have to leave a message, assuming the voice mailbox isn't full. Works great about 10% of the time. That's not good enough. read more
