I was completely unfamiliar with the area and I was very surprised to find out my cable company/internet service provider Comcast/Xfinity did not service the area. I have had many problems over the years with Comcast, including one on my way out of Miami which I will detail in a later review, but I did like the product they provided. I did not know what companies serviced the area so I called AT&T and found out that although they did not have their service their either, Directv, one of their subsidiaries did. I wasn't thrilled about going to satellite but I said well when in Rome, do as the Romans do. I signed up with a package with them. I also wanted internet, phone and security and they said I needed to work with a different company they are affiliated with in the area: Centurylink. I got a package and I was told they would be at my home on a certain day after my move. Thus began a comedy of errors that made me terminate my contract with both companies. During this time both: 1) put down the wrong dates to start service. 2) create a work order to repair my existing service, when it wasn't even installed in the first place. I was actually told by the repairman who was mistakenly sent to my house that he doesn't know how this could have been screwed up this bad! 3) getting my order wrong I had to make so many phone calls, including in the middle of a work conference I was attending! Every time my mother called me to say hey we have another problem with the cable/internet companies I wanted to jot my head against the wall in frustration. I was losing my patience and then one call again during the conference, my mother said that the installer for the internet service said that we would have ridiculously slow speed because they relied on DSL for service in my area and we were really far away from the downtown area where if we watched YouTube on one computer no other computer could use the internet! Wait!? What!? I was already unhappy with switching to satellite for tv but DSL? What am I back in the 90s? I can't use this, I work from home occasionally and so does my brother... this can't work! I wasn't told anything about this. I stopped the installation and canceled. Thankfully since service wasn't set up I didn't break the contract, it just never happened. Yeah no thanks!

After countless useless chats with their awful AI chatbot "Giga" (which does not even allow you to type half the time), and fruitless conversations with customer support in another continent, I have been told I will be connected to internet in 72 hours - but frankly, I am not holding my breath. My advice - do not agree to their services unless they send a technician to your house to install the internet. If you choose the self install option and something goes wrong, it will be nearly impossible to get a real, local human on phone that can come to your location to troubleshoot. Once you go from potential customer to paying customer, their treatment of you changes. EDIT: Per the response of the comment from Frontier, I reached out to their Facebook account and was able to get connected to a real human, who created a ticket for a technician to come out to my house on 11/05 and fixed the issue. So far no internet problems. I wish I didn't have to reach out through social media in order to get effective help, but I am happy with the internet speed I have. EDIT2: They wanted to charge me to 150 dollars for hooking up the service they are charging me for, so I had to connect to customer support who waived the fee (screenshot attached). I strongly recommend never going with self install unless you are 100 percent sure it will work.

We have been trying to cancel our service so that we can go to a lower price service. This has been taking more than a month or longer. Mercury Broadband - Their product, notice the hole and how it has the exact same cover on it.

From the very beginning, the entire process was shady and exhausting. They originally quoted me nearly $200 for installation plus a $70 monthly plan. When I refused, suddenly the installation fee was waived and they "discovered" a $55 plan. That bait-and-switch alone should have been my warning. I scheduled installation for July 3, 2025. On that day, their team not only harassed me with twelve separate phone calls despite already texting with me (I am hard of hearing and had made that clear), but they also damaged my property. They drilled straight through my brand-new $500 headboard without ever mentioning it, leaving me to discover the hole later when I rearranged my furniture. They saw exactly what they had done, walked into my bedroom, and never said a word. Completely unacceptable. After installation, they told me someone would call to set up autopay over the holiday weekend. That call never came. Instead, on July 7th, 2025, I received an emailed invoice with a $60 late fee already attached. I provided them with proof of the texts from their own installer promising that call, and still they refused to remove the charge. I refused to pay for their error. By July 15th, after receiving my fourth inflated invoice totaling $115, I requested a disconnection and uninstall. Instead of closing my account, they sent me another bill -- this time for $1,200 for "equipment" I tried scheduling for them to come pick up. At that point I involved my family's attorney, who helped me send a final dispute, which is attached in the photos below. It wasn't until August 13th that Mercury finally responded and sent a corrected invoice. This company lies, damages property, ignores legal protections, and invents charges out of thin air. They are scammers, and I would strongly warn anyone considering them to stay far away. Thankfully there are now 3 other fiber optic providers in my region, and I will be switching within the next few days...
