Maybe I am just in a picky mood, so read the review with that in mind. When you walk in you know they are trying aromatherapy. Too trendy for my tastes.
Top floor room, but the view is not worth commenting upon; if you want a balcony apparently you need to ask at checkin. And worse one of the room keys didn't work, so backdown stairs. And, then the wifi wasn't working so back down stairs for them to enable my user name and password. But wait, the new key made the old one nonfunctional. So, took both of the keys back down stairs to get them in sync. Now, that's a total waste of three trips back with never an apology; so clearly the staff is just going through the motions and is not vested in the success of this place.
The cleaning crew replaced the towels every time without asking, so they clearly are not environmentally committed either. Tissues in the bathroom were empty this morning and I left the box out, but the housekeeper ignored it; so, another strike against this place. Am I picky? I guess so. The breakfast hours are, however, quite generous for tourists, so you can lounge there for hours.
Now, I am not making this up, but the first morning there's an unfortunate flying bug, size large, trapped on the ceiling in the morning. How'd he get in here?
So, ultimately, the place only really has its location going for it. read more
