This hotel was the first of 10 hotels on my European tour in October. Nice hotel; nothing too fancy but comfortable/functional. We came in ahead of check-in, so had to wait. A bunch of us just hung out on the couches after our long flights from the US. I guess Security made a fuss and the management decided to allocate rooms for us ahead of the official check-in time. Overall, a good hotel for a good night sleep. read more

The entire experience was great. The rooms were elegant and the staff were wonderful. I greatly enjoyed everything about the place and would definitely stay again. read more

Recently stayed here for about a week and was a mixed experience. The room was great, clean comfortable, modern. I ordered room service around 10am from the menu in the room, the guy acknowledged my order and said it would be there in about 30 min. When the food arrived it was nothing I ordered. I told the person they made a mistake and this is someone else's order. He replied that the restaurant was closed and they couldn't make what I ordered. Why wasn't I told that in the phone when I placed the order? They instead gave me cold food from the earlier buffet. The good news is front desk removed the charge and contact customer experience. When I returned to my room I found a handwritten note from the manager apologizing and taking responsibility. This is why I have 4 stars instead of 2-3. There was a hygiene issue I spotted at the front bar that caused me to not touch the drink I ordered. I ordered a sangria. I then watched The bartender took a dirty rag and cleanser to go wipe down a table. She returns to the bar and without washing her hands proceeds to cut the fruit, grabs the fruit with her hands and places it in my drink. Needless to say, I left the drink and walked out. I should have said something but couldn't think of a good way to approach something like that. The location is pretty good, with several solid restaurant choices nearby. Overall the front desk staff were great and made the difference for me. read more

This hotel is nice and functional but needs updating. The hotel also hosts a lot of conferences and tours and the rooms reflect as much. You can tell the rooms used to be very nice but overtime it's worn out looking. We checked in early and they had a room ready for us. We just had to wait about 20 mins for house keeping to check it. We dropped off our things and went exploring. The hotel is easy to get an Uber or taxi from. The hotel itself is pretty quiet and the location is not near all the busy stuff but close enough that everything is mostly 10-15 mins away. They were renovating some parts of the hotel when we were there. We stayed on the second floor and the renovations started around 6:30am one of the days we were there. It sounded like loud humming going on in our room and we all woke up. We did have one issue with the room. The air conditioning wasn't working and the temperature of the room was about 82 degrees Fahrenheit. We complained twice before they would move us. The front desk clerk kept insisting that they would try to fix it before they would move us. Meanwhile we were roasting inside the room while waiting. The room we stayed in had dual sinks and dual showers. One of the showers was with the bathtub and one was a standing shower. The water pressure was amazing. There was separate door from the bathroom to the living room/bedroom area which helped keep the hallway noise down. The toiletries used in the bathroom was ritual. They were nicely scented. We liked it enough to purchase when we got home. There is also a safe and fridge in the room. It's big enough for some drinks and snacks. The closet was basic and ours was missing the ironing board and iron but our friends smaller room had one included with their. We just had to call down to the desk and ask for it. read more

A last minute business trip brought me to Madrid for a few nights. I have to say this hotel was exactly what my road weary body needed. A block off the Castellana, the hotel was extremely quiet with a nice lobby and super attentive staff. It's located roughly half way between Barajas and downtown. My room was spacious, clean and airy. It had the two characteristics I value most, an amazing bed and shower. Oh my god the shower. I'm pretty sure we can't have that much flow in the US without violating code. I'll definitely be back. read more

Excellent hotel in modern part of Madrid. Stayed here as part of Spain tour. Huge room with big bathroom. Lots of mirrors everywhere. Beds are very good, not sagging like many of the ones catering to tourists. My favorite part though is the pillows. I prefer firm pillows, but never find them in any hotel in USA (even after asking). Here they have 3 pillows on each bed- one is soft, second is medium and third is firm. And not lumpy! Happy me! Big buffet breakfast every morning catering to the fussiest of eaters. Anyone will find something here. Fresh orange juice machine (similar to Whole Foods), lots of cheese, variety of eggs, breads, fresh fruit, mimosa, juices, veggies, beans, so much food. It's far from Gran Vie and central Madrid- will cost you Euro 22 for the cab to go. read more

Gorgeous hotel in a business area of Madrid. Very attentive staff - rooms are amazing and immaculate. If you can stay in The Level rooms - which add a separate checkin and lounge. There is a lovely lounge where you can enjoy a gorgeous Spanish breakfast buffet, afternoon tapas and evening cocktails. read more

I was here for conference and I rilli liked the staff and service here. The wifi is pretty fast and made it easier for me to handle my work. The interior of the hotel also is impressive. I like the style and the fireplace next to the check in desk. They can also send out postcards. Just pay them the stamps money and they will mail out for you. A little kind note: Spain sells a lot of fake stamps. The fake ones dun hv numbers on them, doesn't include wording like 'España de correo' (Spain mail) and is printed with amazing places they r known for. Make sure u buy stamps on tobacco stores if u dun want to go through hotels. it's more legit so ur postcard gets delivered. read more

My wife and I stayed here a couple of nights while we were in Madrid and we got one of the rooms on THE LEVEL. The service we received was outstanding from a few of the folks, but the rooms were a little bit dated. The tapas on THE LEVEL were slightly above average and we took advantage of the drinks some too. I did not like the fact that they do not allow you to take food back to the rooms though, nor do they allow you to heat food or bring in outside food and eat in the sitting area there. We'd stay here again if we needed to be near this part of Madrid, but I just felt overall it would be a nicer hotel based on how highly it was rated on TripAdvisor. read more

I came as a small vacation with my husband as he was on a work trip. The hotel and their staff were very generous giving that I have very little to zero spanish vocabulary. The hotel itself is beautiful and the staff at the bar were welcoming and engaging. Andrea, was so nice and was easy to speak to in english. The events manager was so gracious and came to speak with me. They were absolutely amazing and I would recommend when you come to Madrid, stay here. read more

I would advise against staying here. It's freezing and they won't turn the heat on. Not even in the common spaces (lounge, restaurant, etc.). If the heat is on, the rooms take about a day to heat up. There is no carpet on the floor. It's pretty much a wicker mat. My room was not thoroughly cleaned before I checked in. They only provide face towels upon request ( I hate that). The ironing boards are the weird ones that have the iron attached and there isn't any place convenient to plug it in where you don't fear that you'll bump into it and accidentally knock over the attached iron and burn yourself. Speaking of the ironing board, the cover was super dirty. They didn't leave a price list for the minibar. Also... the toilet water runs super loud 24/7 Good things about this hotel: staff is friendly, plenty of outlets in the rooms, the food is amazing at the restaurant. read more

I was there for business and enjoyed the stay at the hotel. The staff was friendly, helpful, and professional. The interior decoration was classic Spanish despite it had a look of a modern building (15 floors). My room was big for the European standard with nice amenities provided. Their breakfast, which was included in my rate, was complete with great selection of different food items. If you want omelet, look toward the right side of the dinner room upon entry at the back - easy to miss among all the counters that are filled with goodies. This is a good business hotel but a bit of a hike to the downtown (about 20+ Euros taxi ride). Most of the dinner places around the hotel opens at 8 pm for dinner - so plan your days / meeting accordingly. read more

The room was exceptionally clean and reasonably sized. Positive is also that they don't have carpets and that it's possible to open the windows. Unfortunately, Internet didn't work too well in the room. Outlook wasn't even able to send emails due to the slow connection. Breakfast has a rich selection and is definitely worth it. The hotel is a bit outside of the old town, but close to the metro, so it's easy to get around. Overall, the hotel doesn't have any special surprises that would set it apart, but is very solid and definitely a good choice. read more

I can second the opinion if the previous guest. Nice hotel with really excellent and friendly service. Clean and high end. The hotel bar is a little difficult to find and shops in the basement mall are almost all closed little sad. read more

Spent two nights on Trafalgar tour. Reception were extremely helpful -- especially Niveas, the tech guru. She spent 20 min with me activating a SIM card for my I phone - always with a smile. Numerous airline attendants and pilots stay here. read more

Stayed for a conference-- found the staff friendly and rooms clean, although the room and hallways are a bit worn and in need of heavy updating. Walls are very thin (a HUGE pet peeve), and you can hear what your neighbors are up to. Vice-verse too I am sure. Good breakfast, workers at the bar are a bit grumpy, and the bars close early for Madrid. Overall the stay was fine, but at this price point I would expect more. read more

Huge congress hotel in a commercial neighborhood, a few metro stops from the city center. Great breakfast. The rooms and public spaces are luxurious, but in a conservative/heavy style, check photos. read more

I stayed in this hotel as part of a large conference in June. The conference rooms were pretty good but the rest of the hotel failed to live up to its billing. The rooms were dark and unloved and certainly not good enough for a hotel at this price level. There was an air of dustiness about the corridors and an odd lounge near the lifts which looked like it had not been sat in for many years. Most disappointing of all was the pool however. It is unheated and, admittedly early in the season, in too dark a spot to get warm - I've had warmer swims in the sea around England. If you're coming here for a conference try and stay in another hotel nearby - there seem to be plenty. read more

Stayed here for 2 nights on business, for which it is absolutely fine. Rooms are a decent size, clean, and modern. Beds are comfortable. Good selection of two bars & two restaurants for those that don't want to eat out. Helpful staff. Easy access from the airport, location is central enough to reach most morning meetings easily. Well stocked taxi rank just outside. Not much to fault. Perhaps the evening atmosphere could be a bit more jolly, and wouldn't normally expect to pay for internet access. read more

Stuck here for a conference, thankfully work is paying for the room or I'd be pissed. The free internet is absolutely crap. its slow as molasses and frequently disconnects. There is an upgrade but it looks overpriced (5mb speed for 24 hours costs 12 euros) and I doubt the connection is any more stable. Wifi bars in my room frequently dissapear The constant banging is freaking annoying. The first night some woman in the next room was talking on her cellphone and kept me up into the early morning. I was then awoken at 6 sharp by someone else closing a door shaking the hollow walls. The shower is awkward at best, in my room the faucet is falling out of the wall. The water temperature requires razor precision, but the tap adjuster requires significant force to adjust. The water doesn't shoot very far from the wall meaning I was standing in part on the inclined edge of the tub to get under it. The lighting fixutres are pretty spotty, occasionally flickering with the loud thuds of my neighbours. The bed is not the best, but I've slept on worse. Luckily I'll probably be sleep deprived from all the sound, so what sleep I get should be too deep to mind the sloping mattress. The room seems clean, the a/c is effective, and the cleaning staff are friendly (though they seem as sick of this place as I am). ....oh also the room has suicide windows. I'm on the 11th floor and they just open right up. read more

Do not bother staying here if on a business trip. They cannot get the internet right even when you pay for the upgrade, unlike most other European hotels they don't provide tea and or coffee service in-room even in upgraded rooms, horrible eestaurant menus, etc. Okay if you are staying 1 night - miserable when stuck there for several days. I was unimpressed...with the hotel and the neighborhood around it where there are few places to eat and lots of smokers in the cafws. ...and similar to my experience with the hotel chain in Barcelona as well. They wrre in the middle of nowhere. I thought I would give them a 2nd try but this was the last one.. read more
