Not much happening in the market. It's also as cold inside as it is outside. Not a great selection of things I like.

Dated and drab looking this center seriously needs an overhaul. There is a big Dunnes stores which keep the locals happy, a bit furniture store on the first floor which has been so expensive everytime i go and lots of smaller cheaper looking shops and boutiques. There was a restaurant upstairs with miserable looking staff and even more miserable looking food but i think they have a subway there now and a mcdonalds on site too. if you like that sort of nasty fatty food. But the good thing is that this shopping center aims to have everything, from shoes, to groceries, to diy, to books, to health clinics and so much more. Is the swimming pool still there? I'm not sure but i'd certainly avoid the dodgy looking pub outside. when i've parked in the carpark, i've watched some colourful and unsavoury looking characters hanging the doorway; at 11am.

The decor is very old, non frivalous, however the shopping centre does have a good Dunnes Stores Department store serving the needs of the local area. It has a large food department, clothes too but unfortunately the home department is very small. Other shops that are in the shopping centre is O2, a few butchers and numerous 2euro shops.

07.12.10 first order…read more i heard about LadyUmbrella through a friend, and really thought a lot of their overall concept. in planning a celebration for a couple of my lady friends, i decided to order a couple of shirts from LU, but didn't really know how to gauge women's sizes (being a man, that can be a problem). so i was able to connect with LU through twitter, then was able to eventually chat on facebook with their marketing rep. short story long, they made it really easy for me to order the shirts, have them hold the shirts until the party, have the ladies email him with sizes etc (to avoid revealing that info to me or anyone else at the party), then have the shirts shipped to them free of charge. and they sent me (i've already received it) stickers, buttons and coupons as swag for our next UYE. not bad for making a call and asking a few questions. overall: very pleased with customer service, and their overall concept. hope the girls like the shirts! they will. or else ;)

The materials used are quality and nice to wear. I bought a top myself recently after I queried sizes and when they'd have my size back in stock. Which I did using twitter. But they have email address too and facebook. They got back to me promptly and had their website updated with what I wanted. Postage is free too. This always attracts me to an online business. Ole!

I normally shop at Aldi Laytown which us superb with lovely staff. Santry Aldi is a different story. Staff don't seem to want to open a full checkout even for trollies and keep trying to get oeople to the self-service scanners. I keep reminding them : I don't work here, please open a till. When queues were building up today, having declined to self-scan my own trollyload, reluctantly a call was made for staff to open another till and the staff directed the person behind me over, fortunately, he had manners and recognised that I should have been next and allowed me go ahead. All fine, my shopping was checked out but when it came to pay on the card reader I was denied the opportunity to give my rating of my shopping experience. The staff member turned the screen towards himself and gave himself his own review! Aldi need to be aware that their customer satisfaction rates are being skewed by staff giving themselves a good rating instead of allowing customers to honestly rate the shopping experience and give valuable feedback which contributes to improved service in the future.

Junkies hanging around outside all the time panhandling and they do nothing about it. it feels unsafe to go here too. if I had a choice i would shop elsewhere but they have it all sewn up now theres no more family grocers left. Customer service has long been forgotten. Shame.

"She wears gorgeous clothes...But her fingers are rotten and she's always caked in makeup." Luckily, the staff members are friendlier and engage in complimentary banter with you when they ring up your purchases. Inexpensive, fashion-forward clothes are New Look's stock in trade, and it does it well, as long as you aren't hoping to buy something that you can pass down to the grandchildren. The shoes are also great value but step away from the jewellery racks - cheap but decidedly not cheerful. Oh and something to note if you have been on holiday across the water... The sterling prices displayed on the tickets are much cheaper than their euro equivalents but New Look does give you the option to pay with your leftover UK money.

New Look's manifesto declares; 'You love the excitement and limitless possibilities that fashion provides, and that 'wow' moment of finding that must-have item.' Having gone into their shop and seen their stockpile for myself, to say this is an inaccuracy is, sincerely speaking, a very gentle way of putting it. The shop is awash with tawdry ditsy print dresses, tacky striped peplum dresses, crude leopard print tunics, ghastly stud trim vests (a particular turnoff), horrible frill crop vests, magnetic bling stud earrings as well as the particularly disconcerting transparent knitted tunics that you can see your bra through. Obviously I understand that the shop is not going to stock hoodies nor sportswear of the same caliber as Adidias or Abercrombie and Fitch but I have never seen such shoddy hoodies anywhere as those sold within this store. The ones I am speaking of have such counterfeit phrases as 'Daytona 1971 Athletics Club' written across it. It's like they don't even try to make their stuff convincingly decent. A consistent theme amid all of New Look's garments is that everything is made from a very shoddy, thin material. I look at all this stuff and wonder whether any of it will survive past it's first spin in the washing machine. Nothing boasts any kind of integral shape, with most of the tops hanging off you like a shabby poncho. According to what is written on some of the labels, their clothes boast 'Paisley' designs - I wouldn't have known from the patterns alone however owing to their inadequate appearance. Instead of reconstructing authentic Persian or Indian textiles what surfaces are something akin to juvenile scribblings. If you want to pick up first-rate quality clothes with a pioneering twist marketed towards the young adult then bypass all of the counterfeit clones such as Warehouse, Oasis, Next and especially New Look and head straight to somewhere authentic like TopShop.
