The shopkeeper is fitted out in an intriguing blend of the shop's wares, intricately done up in shawl, flowery hat, old fashioned dress and a mish-mash of accessories. She is a cross between Mary Poppins and the 'feed the birds' woman, and she is lovely lovely lovely! There are some exquisite discoveries to be made by whoever has the patience to sift through the wares in this store. If you can't afford the Urban Outfitters across the road, come here instead, as they often have similar stuff for less than half the price.

There's lots of fur, 80s style bomber jackets and jumpers, dresses, bags and plenty of denim. They don't (yet) have a changing room and the light is more decorative than revealing so do keep that in mind. The outfit you buy may look very different in broad day light. I was told that they'll get 'new' stock every week so hopefully they'll do something about the (lack of) light situation soon and I'd be a regular in here.

This store is a perfect blend of vintage and modern. I can always find something that is unique, that I feel comfortable wearing to work, on a date, out with friends etc. The quality of the clothes has always been very good, especially considering that the clothes are not too expensive (mid-range I would say). They also carry a variety of unique accessories, bags, and scarves. You can order online as well, they ship to the US and I received my items very quickly. When I have been in the store, all of the ladies have been so nice and helpful. It's really a wonderful shop. (Follow them on Facebook too, I love their posts!)

Amongst all the cute but quite young clothes, were 2 rails marked one off vintage finds. I would probably say they were more designed around vintage shape and fabrics than actual vintage, but they were seriously nice. The price was amazing, quirky dresses for about €49 and just that bit different, that you know they are not high street!!! Definitely worth a look.

They were happy to send me to a competitors storefront as I continued my "scavenger hunt" for this piece... even though they weren't profiting off of it. I ended up purchasing an item from them anyway (because it was so fun and I also really appreciated the assistance). Reasonable costs and the pieces looked well taken care of. When I'm in Ireland in future, I will definitely visit again!

There are some deals to be had at Siopaella!! This place was packed on a Friday afternoon…read more I browsed through all the racks and stumbled upon a D&G red and black carnation dress for £249! It fit like a glove and it definitely went home with me. My friend found a Mini Celine bag she'd been wanting for years and took that home with her. The bag was in amazing condition and a few hundred dollars cheaper than back in the states. Service was very friendly and it's definitely worth stopping in to browse.

I don't think I've ever been happier to discover a shop as I have this one - practically any…read moreclothes I bought over winter I found here, including an incredible-looking, excellent quality brand new winter coat for 75 euros that would keep you warm in a blizzard. In fact if I walk into BTs in this coat, shop assistants look at me optimistically as if I might actually be a real prospect; poor them, but I got a good laugh out of it. The husband picked up a gorgeous Alpaca wool coat for around 100 euros, and it too would preserve you in an Antarctic storm. Another good buy was a designer jacket which I'm guessing didn't sell in the designer Siopaella around the corner, good-as-new quality, retail price over a grand, cost me 35 quid, two ripped-out shoulder pads later and a bit of sleeve adjustment, and (to me anyway) what it had lost in standard-issue French chic it gained in cool. The atmosphere in Siopaella is great, the staff are helpful but there's no hard sell, and the chilled out doggie lying contently at the till slapping his tail from time time perfectly accents the general homely, cool vibe. The good stuff turns over fast so keep an eye on Facebook which regularly shows what's come in. The prices can be a bit mixed - I've seen at least one item for a price near enough to what you'd buy it for new in Zara, but in much less than new quality, but generally I find the prices to be good and the quality very high - good as new really. This isn't charity shop prices (or standard of clothes, obviously); it's a good shop for fashionistas who buy often and turnover wardrobe regularly, and these are the types they look to trade with. When I suggested I had some things I could sell there, the wonderfully friendly woman who owns it explained kindly that they're looking for a minimum of around 15 items to begin with (you start an account). My shopping profile doesn't make me the ideal trader, but I am the ideal shopper there. The designer Siopaella around the corner from this one is the same concept, but if you spend a third of the shop value on a dress there, you could be setting yourself back 500 quid. But you'll be wearing Chanel. As I understand, this is a consignment shop, and they keep 40% of anything they sell of yours (either that or you get 40%), and if it doesn't sell, you take it back at the end of the agreed time frame. I delight in telling people about this shop when I get complimented on something - as an alternative to the high-street shopping model, Siopaella gets my vote and not just because of what you save on the pocket; it's just a much more interesting way to shop and it's a more sustainable model too. Full marks to these guys.

Eager Beaver is a wicked little retro shop crammed with what is undoubtedly the hippest collection…read moreof hand-me-downs in the city. What we have here however is a much more slapdash and sporty collection as opposed to the more 'classic silk dresses that feature the same flower-patterned design as seen on your grandmother's old apron but in this context looks chic and unexpectedly fashionable' look found in abundance in other eminent Temple Bar vintage outlets such as Lucy's Lounge. In fact, what am I saying, Eager Beaver isn't vintage at all, it is the definitive retro retreat. In point of fact, I stand corrected again as it's not even a 'retreat' - no that's far too subtle a word - it is in truth a big, slapdash retro bonanza! Does that communicate the zealousness I feel towards this shop enough for you? Untailored, informal retro is the name of the game here with a couple of clothes racks packed solely with 70's Adidas track-suit jackets, denim jackets, Led Zeppelin tees, Stan Smith trainers, Nike 1970s Elite pumps with a sweet nylon upper, waffle sole and old school colourway and even Puma trackie bottoms - see what I mean about the large array of sportswear. This shop is just filled with fab fab fab pieces, from vintage bridal wear( beautiful ) to glitzy sequin jackets, floral silk blouses , gorgeous never been seen bags with beautiful little clips and straps and pure wool vibrant in colour hats. I absolutely adore this place and I highly recommend everyone to check it out!!! All affordable this is my new favourite find!
